Space tour is not all about rockets——large space balloons can do it too! The company HALO Space completed the first test flight in December 2022. This means another company joined the competition of making space tour a reality（现实）。

During the test flight, the balloon reached an altitude（海拔高度）of 37 kilometers. When the flights are available（可获得的）, the company aims to carry 3,000 passengers on 400 trips every year.

How does a space balloon work? The balloon is usually filled with helium or hydrogen, which are both much lighter than air, so it flies up into the sky. As it rises, the gas（气体）inside the balloon grows larger. The balloon stops when the density（密集）of the gas inside and the air outside is about the same. And it begins to fall down as gas goes out slowly.

So the whole trip is not strong. The Space Perspective in US says that the trips are about relaxation. The balloon rises slowly at 12 miles an hour, and it takes about two hours to get to the 37 km altitude. It also takes another two hours to go back to the land.

In 2024, Space Perspective Company started selling the tickets——and they have already sold out.

The company now buys ships to turn them into"floating spaceports"——lifting the balloon from ships on the sea, there will be more chances for passengers to enjoy the sunrise and sunset.

Many Chinese people think potatoes are only vegetables. They cook potatoes along with other ingredients（材料）. But as a staple, potatoes can be cooked differently. Scientists have found ways to make potato flour, noodles and other staple foods, just like how we use rice or wheat.

Hot pot, a popular dish in China, young people love it very much today. They usually eat it in winter, but now we can see it on tables all year round. Let's see its history and cultural meaning!

Genghis Khan was one of the greatest military leaders（军事领袖）. He and his people lived in a very cold place in winter. He needed food to keep his people warm, strong and healthy. They got some pots and put snow into them. They used the fire（火）to cook the pots, then they put some meat into the pots. After a short time, they began to eat the meat. 

That might be the first hot pot. The meat mostly was mutton, beef and horse. Later, people brought hot pot to other parts of China and ameliorated it. People began to put more kinds of ingredients into the hot pot, such as vegetables, noodles and seafood. 

Today, we can find different kinds of hot pot in Beijing, Chongqing, Sichuan and even in some other countries. When we enjoy the delicious hot pot, we also feel the special food culture of China. 

Hot pot is more than food, it's about sharing. Young people sit around the pot, chatting and laughing while cooking together. This tradition helps people in China care for their families and stay close with their friends. 

Last Friday, our teacher walked into the classroom and shared a secret with us. "We' re going to help farmers pick vegetables and sell（卖）them!" We all wanted to be the 1 of the plan. 

Early in the morning, we felt 2  and arrived at a farm by bus. We had two teams. One group picked cabbages, the other group washed them. The wind tried to 3  our hats when we picked cabbages. Some students were talking about their hobbies, others were telling stories. We were all happy. "Working together is 4  fun!" said Lucy. In the afternoon, we carried the vegetables to a market in town. Many 5  came to buy them. A woman even gave us some fruits. We used our smart ideas to 6  money for a village school. An old man said, "You kids are building a bridge between kindness and 7  !" That evening, we were all tired but happy. We remembered the words of Plato:"Happiness 8  doing good and helping others. "

I put down the book called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But I kept going over the exciting story in my mind. The book was full 1 magic. But Charlie' s happy family was the most magical part of the story. 

Charlie's home was 2 small house at the side of a big town. His family was very poor. His four grandparents stayed in the only bed in the house. 3 of them had a different place to sleep. The family 4 had enough food. They always ate watery cabbage soup for dinner. 

To my surprise, the family felt 5 together. In the evenings, Charlie sat with his grandparents in bed 6 listened to their stories. Charlie's parents often 7 in. Every night, the room became a happy place and they forgot their poor life. 

This touched me greatly. In some of my 8 minds, happiness comes from things like money. But love, in fact, is the key to happiness. Oscar Wilde once said, " Keep love in 9 heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden. . . " There 10 so many reasons to be happy. I think love is the most important one. It can move us, change us, and fill our lives with joy.
