Chinese wooden arch (拱形) bridges with covered walkways, known as"Mu Gong LangQiao," have a history of over 900 years. More than just river crossings, they symbolize harmony between people and nature. Listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage (联合国教科文组织非物质文化遗产名录), they are widely recognized for their unique value worldwide.

These bridges are mostly in mountain areas of Fujian and Zhejiang. With many rivers and mountains there, local people created the bridges to cross them. The special structure of the bridges is amazing: it uses no nails (钉子) at all. Skilled workers join wood pieces firmly with traditional methods like"sunmao". They make the bridges strong enough to last for hundreds of years even in bad weather.

However, this ancient skill once faced the risk of disappearing. City development changed local lifestyles. Typhoons and other natural disasters damaged some old bridges. Luckily, years of continuous efforts improved the situation. Local governments took action, old workers taught their skills to young people, and students joined in some related activities.

Today, these bridges grow with new energy, attracting visitors from all over the world. From connecting small villages to sharing world cultures, the bridges are a living part of Chinese heritage, telling us traditional skills can keep shining in the modern world.

Last Thursday marked the 7th International Tea Day, which falls on May 21st every year.Our head teacher, Ms. Li, gave us an interesting class about Chinese tea.

First, Ms. Li showed us how to make tea with tea sets. Then she gave each of us a small cup of tea to taste, and asked us to communicate with each other about its taste, color and smell. After that, she introduced the six types of Chinese tea: green tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea(乌龙茶), black tea and dark tea.

Ms. Li also taught us proper manners for drinking tea. For example, we can tap the table lightly with fingers to show thanks when someone pours tea for us. We must not fill guests' cups to the top. We should avoid making loud noises while tasting tea, yet we can share our thoughts.For example, we may say,"I love the flavor of this tea. It has a lasting sweet aftertaste.""The smell of this tea is very unique. It fills me with peace." As the steam rose from our cups, Ms. Li' s voice softened."Remember," she said,"every cup of tea holds more than leaves and water ———— it holds the connection between guests and hosts. It holds the warmth of sharing, and the slow, fine art of living."

This class provides us with a valuable lesson about Chinese tea culture. Many young people like to drink coffee or soft drinks. Few of us truly understand the charm of traditional Chinese tea.I'd like to call on everyone to carry forward a tradition that is not only a cultural treasure but also a source of our well-being.

Tom, an eight-year-old boy, who developed an unknown disease in his brain two years ago,performed excellently in a national music competition.

By 2030, the world's data（数据）centers are expected to use more than double the electricity they use today. AI is the main driver. It forces countries to look for new ways to solve the big problem. China is leading the way by putting data centers under the sea as a greener solution.

In December 2022, Hainan became home to China's first underwater data center. This was followed by a more advanced（先进的）project in Shanghai in 2025.

AI servers give off heat while working, making the temperature rise. If the heat isn't taken away in time, the servers won't run well or even break down. On-land data centers have to use up to 40% of their electricity just for cooling AI servers.

Underwater data centers, like the one in Shanghai, use pipes to pump（输送）seawater. Seawater goes through the radiators on the back of the servers. It takes in heat and carries it away. The sea temperature is about 15℃, perfect for natural cooling. In this way, the electricity is saved. An assessment（评估）from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology shows the underwater data center uses at least 30% less electricity than on陆 data centers thanks to natural cooling.

Underwater data centers can also reduce land usage by 80%. And the one in Shanghai offers another benefit: it will get more than 95% of its electricity from a kind of renewable energy— wind energy. And the use of tidal（潮汐）and wave energy is also taken into consideration.

China's efforts in developing underwater data centers show its promise to create low-carbon digital infrastructure（低碳数字基础设施）. The act not only helps reduce the environmental influence of AI, but also could set a new standard for sustainable computing（可持续算力）worldwide.

"I could only see large letters within 20 cm. After the doctor's treatment, I could see them from 270 cm away." said an elderly man who suffered from eye problems.

The magic, from the deep rainforest of Yunnan, is called Dai Medicine. It is the survival wisdom of the Dai people which has a history of around 2,500 years. It has its own understanding of how the body works.

Dai Medicine includes many special treatments. The heated herbal bed therapy（睡药疗法）is a famous one. In this treatment, the doctor spreads warm herbs over a bed and makes the patient lie on it. Then he places more herbs over the patient. Finally, he covers the patient with a quilt（被 子） to keep the temperature. In 2011, the therapy was included in China's Intangible Cultural Heritage. Another well-known treatment is the herbal pouch therapy（敷药疗法）. The doctor heats a cloth bag filled with herbs, puts it on the affected area（患处）and then moves it backwards and forwards.

At present, about 11 therapies are widely used in practice. Dao Huixian, a Dai doctor, said, "In our general hospital, for critical illnesses, we mainly depend on modern medicine. But for chronic（慢性的）diseases, the strengths of Dai Medicine offer greater advantages."

Since Yunnan is close to Southeast Asia, Dai Medicine is not only a way of treating diseases, but also an important bridge for medical and cultural communication with neighboring countries. In the future, this ancient wisdom may help more people around the world!

Our school started a Green Corner program last month. It asked every class to look after a small garden area outside the classroom building. All  classmates took part in the program actively as soon as we heard the news. We sat together to make a detailed plan first and divided the daily work into different small parts fairly.

Also, when you overthink, challenge these thoughts bravely. For example, if you' re worried about a test and think"I'm going to fail", remind yourself that you' ve studied hard and there's a good chance to do well in the test.

When Pablo was eleven years old, he thought of an idea for a product called theWordwatch. He turned to Uncle Tim for help because programming was UncleTim's job. Together they found out how to make Wordwatches.

However, unlike other watches, the Wordwatch also shows a word. It displays a different word every day. If you look at the watch on Monday, you might see the word" attention". On Tuesday, you might see the word" concentrate". The same word appears on the watch throughout the day. If you press one button, you can see an explanation for the word.If you' re awake at midnight, the Wordwatch reveals a different word.

Pablo and Uncle Tim employed a teacher to research which words should be used in the Wordwatch. The watch for nine-year-olds has simpler words than the one for high-school students.

After a year,a Wordwatch owner may send the watch back to the factory.Pablo's invention helps kids learn to spell many difficult words and read better.
