How many ants are there on earth？You could guess "a lot"，and you are right. Scientists did a study and showed that there are 20，000，000，000，000，000 ants on the . It's about 2. 5 million ants for every human!

There are about 12，000 different kinds of ants on land and they probably everywhere around us. They live in groups. They use their antennae (触角) to smell，touch and with each other. 

Ants are  insects，but some ants can carry 50 times their body weight.  ， they have some special abilities including (包括) their great communication skills. They use these skills to work together to find food，build their homes and  their places. 

Ants have strong with our environment (环境). They help to break down dead plants and animals to keep the earth healthy. Ants also help to spread pollen one plant to another，which helps the plants to grow. What's more，they are important food for many animals. 

Ants play an important  in our world，but some of them are in danger. So we should try  best to protect them. 

Bamboo is a wonderful plant for many people around the world. People make tables，clothes，medicine and musical instruments with it. Pandas may eat bamboo every day，and people can also eat it. 

Some bamboo grows so quickly that people say they can watch it grow. The speed of growth depends on the type of bamboo，the earth   and the season. A bamboo can grow  3—10 cm a day. It usually grows in tropical (热带的) areas. Bamboo plants are found in Asia，Australia，parts of Africa，and South America. 

One of the world's oldest building materials is bamboo. Like today，people use it because it's very strong. The Chinese made a bamboo bridge over the Min River in Sichuan，China almost 1，000 years ago. Also，bamboo is still used to make houses today，especially in China and the Philippines. 

Have you ever seen this flower？The flower is really big. Its colour is red. Look closely，and you can find that it has teeth. It is called Rafflesia. It is the world's biggest flower. You can see it in the documentary (纪录片) The Green Planet. 

The Green Planet is a great documentary. It shows us the world of plants. To find different plants from the world，the film workers travelled from the rainforest to some snowy places. They also climbed mountains and walked into deserts (沙漠). To find plants in the water，they even jumped into rivers. Those film workers travelled to twenty­seven countries and it took them about four years to finish the documentary. 

The documentary opens our eyes to the natural world，and it shares an important message with us. Plants are really vital in nature. They help us in many ways，such as making oxygen，cleaning the air and giving us food. They are our best friends. We shouldn't damage (伤害) them. We need to protect them. Always remember，what we do in the next 20 years will decide the future of plants in the world.
