Last year, hundreds of people spent good money on an experience that they knew would include crowds (人群), discomfort and danger. Many would become sick, because of the cold and low air pressure, and a few would even lose their lives. But with all these hard things in from of them, by the end of the trip many were already planning to return. For these people, climbing Qomolangma is an experience like no other, making some feel weak and others powerful. 

British mountain climber George Mallory wrote of climbing Qomolangma, "What we get from this adventure is just sheer(纯粹的) joy. . . We do not live to eat and make money. We eat and make money tobe able to enjoy life. That is what life means and what life is for." Sadly, Mallory would die on the mountain in 1924, although people could not find his body until many years later. Up to now people still don't know whether he successfully reached the top before his death. In 2011, American climber Alan Arnette shared the same opinion. He said tough mountain climbing forces people to look deep inside themselves and carefully check their physical and mental strength to carry on bravely when they strongly feel like giving up. 

Modem science also offers a reasonable explanation for risk-talking. Psychologist(心理学家) Frank Parley calls those who love excitement and challenges"Type T". These risk-takers always think they are skilled and experienced experts. They do not want to die, nor do they expect to die. Research also suggests that our wish to look for risks can be connected to how much we expect to benefit from the result. 

So are the benefits of climbing Qomolangna worth the risks? It's totally up to you.

Elephants are like us in some ways. They are very playful and love to play in the water. They are great swimmers. They are also clever. For example，they can remember one another and places with food and water after many years. Elephants are very kind too. They look after other elephants when they don't feel well. The big elephants also help the baby ones. 

Elephants are an important part of Thai life and culture. However，they are in danger. They live in forests，but people cut down too many trees. People also kill elephants for their ivory. Let's save the forests and not buy things made of ivory. Every elephant counts. 

Have you read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory？Or James and the Giant Peach？If yes，you must know Roald Dahl. He is one of the most popular writers of children's books. Many of his stories are made into movies. And not only children like his work，but adults also do. Roald Dahl Day began in the UK. It started in 2006 for his 90th birthday. His birthday is September 13th，so that is Roald Dahl Day. Now other English-speaking countries celebrate it too. Born in 1916，Dahl had a hard childhood. He went to strict boarding （寄宿） schools and met some unkind adults. Dahl got lots of writing ideas from these hard times. He started making up children's stories after he had his first child. He loved telling his children bedtime stories，and then he turned those stories into books. He was good at writing children's books because he could see the world through children's eyes. He said， "If you want to know children better，you have to get down on your knees. You'll find you have to look up at all the adults around you. They always tell you what you can do and what you cannot do. "

Mr. Dahl thought it was important for children to read. "I love teaching kids to be readers，to be comfortable with a book，not afraid.     ▲     They should be interesting，exciting and wonderful，" he said. 

Dahl once said， "If you do not believe in magic，you will never find the magic. " Maybe that is why people love his work so much. His stories are full of magic，and we want to believe in magic. Mr. Dahl died in 1990，but his stories will live forever.

Healthy eating is important for a healthy body and mind. Both what we eat and how we eat are important!

For example，some people have fast food every week. It is easy and delicious!But it often has lots of salt，fat，and sugar. That makes us put    on    weight. Eating fast food like pizza and hamburgers too often may cause heart problems later. If you cook your own meals instead，you can make healthy balanced meals. 

Eating three meals a day is important. But some people don't have breakfast. Maybe they don't feel hungry in the morning，or they are too busy to eat anything. But food gives us energy. If we don't eat breakfast，it is easy to feel sleepy. It is also hard to focus on our work or studies. 

Some people also eat too many sweet things. Ice cream，sweets，and chocolate are delicious，but they usually have lots of sugar. This can cause tooth problems. When you want a snack，why don't you have some fruit instead？After all，an apple a day keeps the doctor away. 

Remember：You are what you eat. Healthy eating means eating healthy food and having good eating habits.
