The Shangsi Festival comes on the third day of the third lunar (农历) month. It is  ancient Chinese festival. The day is said to be the birthday of the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), people often take a bath in the river on that day to keep away from bad luck  (easy).

So far, the tradition of the festival  (change). In the Jin Dynasty (朝代), people took a bath while drinking from cups going along the river. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, people did  (activity) like hiking and listening to music.

In modern times, during the festival, the Han people would go outside  (enjoy) flowers. It is a festival for the young Zhuang people to sing songs  then find their true love. Bamboo dancing is another choice for  (they). For the Li and Miao people in Hainan, it is a day for  (remember) ancestors (祖先).

Special food is also important to the festival. Five-colored rice and painted eggs are (tradition) food for the Shangsi Festival. The Zhuang people believe the rice is good for health and the painted eggs are the symbol  love.

Citywalk is a type of experience of exploring a city in an immersive（沉浸式的） and slow way. Instead of quickly going to crowded tourist spots,people are choosing to explore busy markets, old streets and interesting alleys（小巷） slowly.

Citywalk is very popular with young people. They are often too busy with their work to explore local areas. Citywalk lets them do this in a fun and relaxing way. This shows that people are starting to want a slower way of life. They want to enjoy things more and don't want to be in a rush all the time.

Beijing is working hard to fix up old parts of the city. People there are also using new and creative ideas to make the city keep up with the time. In the last few years,Beijing has made many changes to the area around the Liangma River. People have fixed the river banks,planted more trees and flowers,added lights and cleaned water. They want to make the area nicer and better for the environment. As a result,they built an 800,000-square-meter riverside park next to the Liangma River. It helps turn the Liangma River into a "people-friendly river", being a nice place to visit for people in Beijing.

Citywalk is becoming more and more welcome,and more and more people are walking on the streets to experience the beauty of the cities. We can do this now because many people are working silently to keep our cities clean,safe and lively.

There is a special bookstore in Beijing. It's called Humor Bookstore and it is the first bookstore on the theme of humor in China. You can see a few distorting mirrors（哈哈镜） first when you walk into it. You can't help laughing because you look funny in those mirrors. Then you will see a big screen in the store and Charlie Chaplin's funny films are on all the time. The bookstore covers an area of 111 square meters and has more than 1,000 books by writers from different countries.

If you don't know what to read,you can turn to the stickers（标签） next to the books. There is interesting handwritten information to help you choose books. For example,one reads,"If you feel life is boring,you can read Wang Zengqi."

51-year-old Qi Hang opened the bookstore in 2021."Many people are anxious today,so I hope the store can make people feel relaxed. To open the bookstore,I went to many places to collect books," said Qi.

The main color of the bookstore is green,just like the color of post offices. Qi said,"Post offices help deliver（传递） mail while the bookstore delivers laughter. I hope this bookstore can make people feel happy."

Once, two mice went into a dairy (乳品店). As they were looking for something to eat, they fell into a large jar (缸) full of milk. They did not know how to swim. Soon they started drowning (下沉). Both of them tried their best to stay above the milk. One of the mice said, "Friend, I think we are going to drown. No one can help us now, I wish God would send someone to help us!" The other mouse said aloud, "Don't be afraid, my friend. We must not lose heart. We must keep trying." But a few minutes later, the first mouse gave up hope. He did not try and so he drowned. The other mouse saw his friend drowning in the milk and felt very sorry. Yet he kept moving his own legs to try to keep afloat (漂浮的). Finally the mouse climbed out safely. 

The mouse realized that God helps those who help themselves. 

At the beginning of this term, my P.E. teacher suggested me that I should take part in the marathon(马拉松赛跑). I was very surprised because I was never a good runner. In order to1   me, he said that if I took part in the race, I would get the highest mark for the term's P.E. class. So, I decided to have a try because I had 2 to lose.

I prepared for the race very 3 . I ran every day in the morning before school. And after school, I practiced running with many other runners on the sports ground. I even had the special diet(饮食) for athletes(运动员). I heard that the special diet could 4 me to get good results.

When the5 of the marathon arrived, I was very nervous. As usual, I got up in the morning, had my breakfast, and listened to some music. Then my father gave me a 6 to the sports ground, for the marathon race was going to take place there in an hour. All my family wished me good luck because they knew how7 this race was for me and how much effort I had put into its preparation.

Standing in Antarctica (南极), Chinese tourist Yu Tong took a deep breath. "I've traveled to over 50 countries, 1 when I first arrived in the Antarctica, it really surprised me," she says.

Chinese scientists discovered water in Moon soil samples (样本). Chang'e-5 Moon probe (探测器) brought the samples back from the Moon. Many ago, people discovered water on the Moon, but this time scientists found that it is in the same form as the water we on the Earth. The samples came from a part of the Moon, where scientists did not believe they could find  there. 

The Chang'e-5 probe  to space in November 2020. The robotic spacecraft(航天器) worked on the Moon for about a month, and then it came back the Earth carrying about four pounds of the Moon soil. In 2018, scientists started to study the Moon. And they found that there water on the Moon in two other forms— as ice and as a chemical compound(化合物) that could be into water. 

And last year, China found water in glass balls on the Moon. The finding means that there is a water source(源头) on the Moon. China plans to send some  to the Moon and also build a research station there. 

Lugazo Abubakar is a 30-year-old Tanzanian (坦桑尼亚人). He is now 1 at Central China Normal University(CCNU) in Wuhan. He is also the head of a volunteer service team. The team is made up of 2 students. 

Lugazo's love for China began during his studies in Tanzania. HisChinese teacher 3 him at a Confucius Institute (孔子学院), andLugazo started his 4 of learning Chinese at CCNU in 2017. On his first day, Lugazo was touched by the help of volunteers. To learn from them, he later 5 the team to give his help and kindness to the community(社区).

The 2024 Summer Olympics ended on August 11with a closing celebration in Paris. More than 10, 000 players took part in the celebration and 70, 000 spectators in the stadium and millions more at home

The celebration was fantastic and amazing. There was someone flying in gold armor(盔甲), and an artist played the piano in mid-air. Olympic rings slowly rose over the stage. The French band Phoenix, Belgian singerAngèle, and other artists gave wonderful shows. A special tribute(致敬) was paid to the Games'45, 000volunteers. 

Following the tradition, the Olympic flag was handed off to the leader of the next host city, KarenBass, mayor(市长) of Los Angeles, California. The 2028 Summer Olympics will be held there. The celebration took an American turn when actor Tom Cruise went onto the stage, took the flag, and rode off on a motorbike. Billie Eilish and other musicians appeared by video. 

* Then, French swimmer Léon Marchand, who won five medals this year, arrived with the Olympic flame(火焰). In the end, the flame was out, marking the end of the Games. 

On May 3, Yichang Police Station made history by firstly using a "robot police dog" in Hubei. Working with real police dogs, the robot police dog was sent to patrol(巡逻) and do something else. 

As a new comer to the police station, the robot police dog interested many onlookers(旁观者). With two large" eyes" on its back, it always monitors the movements of people around it. It tries to find anyone with bad intentions (意图). When the robot police dog finds that a visitor leaves his bag on a bench, it will say, "Lost thing found. "

Because of heavy rain, the policemen made indoor patrols on May 3. However, the brave robot police dog still made outdoor patrols. When children saw the robot police dog working in the rain, they even came up to hold an umbrella for it. However, a little water is nothing to the robot police dog. It can work even in temperatures as high as 60℃ or as low as minus 40℃. 

Visitors welcomed the patrols of the robot police dog. A visitor named Zhang said, "Some elderly people and children may be afraid of real dogs. I hope we could see more robot police dogs in the future. "

Many people from Beijing and otherplaces went to a restaurant inBeijing's Haidian District. * They went to the restaurant not only to eat, but also to pay their respects(尊重) to the hero who lost his life to save others. 

"I just want to come to see the hero's restaurant and show my respect, " said Lyu Zhaoshun, a Beijing local (本地人). He drove all his family to the restaurant. "My home is far from this restaurant. I come here because I want my children to know about the hero and   ▲  . "

Luan Liuwei was a 41-year-old man from Shandong. He ran the restaurant with his wife in Beijing for many years. On August 10, while visiting Gu'an County with his daughter, Luan saved three children from drowning in the Yongding River. However, when he went back into the water to save an adult in danger, he lost his life. 

On Wednesday, Ningyang, his hometown, awarded him the title (称号) of"Model of the New Era inNingyang". Luan's heroic act deeply touched the country. Many people from all over the capital city and other areas went to the restaurant to pay respects to the hero and support the restaurant. 

When he was young, 16-year-old Ash Goldsmith loved looking at the stars. In Year 7 he joined his (school) astronomy club and his interest in space grew. Goldsmith, from the Wirral, the UK, is one the winners of the Viasat Beyond: Space competition. Pupils in Years 12 and 13 sent in their (idea) about space sustainability(可持续性). Around the Earth there (be) millions of pieces of rubbish, including some that come from satellite launchers. Goldsmith's idea was for "housekeeping"satellite that would repair, refuel, or make other satellites better so they last longer, making (they) less likely to become space junk. "It's very (importance) for space to stay sustainable, " Goldsmith said, "if we don't keep it sustainable, we might not be able to use it in the future. " He added, "That means we wouldn't be able to have GPS and ships wouldn't be able to send help signals. "

As part of his prize, Goldsmith won £7, 500 towards his education. He hopes (study) physics or natural sciences. Goldsmith says if you want to work in the space industry,  (go) for it. "It doesn't matter if you're good at maths, and it doesn't matter if you're good at English, " he explains. "All you need for a career in space is the love for it. "

When two American astronauts blasted off(发射升空) ona test mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on5 June, they believed they would be back home in a few days. But things didn't quite go according to 1 . 

In fact, Barry"Butch" Wilmore and Sunita Williams are 2 there, floating high above the Earth more than four months later. 

The 3 are stuck for too long. They are now facing the fact of spending Christmas and New Year in space. 

Mr Wilmore, 61, and Ms Williams, 58, flew a Boeing Starliner spacecraft to the station. It was the first flight of its kind with 4 on board and was a test which was designed to see how the new spacecraft performs before it is used more regularly(频繁地).

According to a new study, spending time in spacemakes astronauts more likely to get headaches. Of those, 24 astronauts reported their experiences with headaches before and during their space flights. 

While none of the astronauts had headaches on the Earth, most of them got headaches in space. Luckily, the headaches were mostly mild or not too strong. 

And they became less frequent as the missions went on. 

Migraines, a type(类型) of severe headache that often comes with nausea(恶心) and light sensitivity(对光敏感), were more common during the early days of a space flight. During the later parts of a mission, astronauts usually reported feeling tension-type headaches (紧张型头痛), which are characterized(以……为特征) by a dull aching feeling. They say people need to do more research to understand why astronauts get headaches in space and to find ways to help them feel better.
