A kid's mental health problems can be caused by many things, like school life and life events. While children can experience mental health issues at any age, they are most at risk between the ages of 12 and 16.

Everyone feels sad, angry or upset sometimes, including children. But if a kid feels like this most of the time, it means that they may need help. They may have difficulty getting on with others or staying interested in activities.

Some of the common mental health problems children experience include (包括): relationship problems, eating problems, feeling sad, worries and so on.

About 1 in 4 children aged 5 to 19 have experienced a mental health problem in the world. It is necessary for children to get professional (专业的) help if they have mental health problems.

Zara Lachlan, aged 21, from the United Kingdom, became the first woman and the youngest person to row from mainland Europe to mainland South America with no one else to help her. Zara set off in a special rowing boat from Portugal on October 27. She completed the Atlantic crossing in just over 97 days. On February 1, she arrived in French Guiana. "Nobody knew I was coming in," she said. "But I got clapped (鼓掌) by lots of fishermen from Brazil."

Zara faced many challenges (挑战) along the way. A high wind turned her boat over. She hurt her arm and broke a finger. At one point, she was nearly run over by a large ship. And one time, she was hit by a flying fish. But there were many bright things, too. For Zara, the trip was a chance to see nature as few people ever do. "The sunrises and night skies were really exciting." she said. "The trip gave me many memories (回忆). They will stay with me for life."

"I took on a big challenge and won," Zara said. "I hope my effort will inspire (激励) others to challenge themselves."

Peer pressure is a common experience for many teens. It means doing something just because you don't want to be left out by your friends. Sometimes it can be good—like encouraging you to study harder or join a sports club. But often, it makes you feel bad for being different from others.
