Sometimes, families can be hard. People argue a lot. They get upset. Sometimes, they stop talking. Our family has had lots of ups and downs. I'd say arguments often happen in our family, too.

I have an elder brother and an elder sister. I'm the baby boy in the family. We grew up in quite a small house and often didn't have a lot of money. My mum and dad argued, pretty much all the time, just about anything. My brother and sister argued. And I used to argue.

But as I got older, I always chose to be the mediator(调解员). I would try to look at both sides of the argument and bring them together to make peace."Dad, you shouldn't say that to Mum, but Mum, try to see it this way.""Come on, guys, we all love each other. It has just been a bad day." I'd say it often worked.

I learned much growing up in our family: understanding, being patient and the knowledge that sometimes things just don't go your way. We all make mistakes. We all say things that we wish we hadn't. The key is to try and understand. Of course, sometimes, arguments do need to happen. If something is wrong, it needs to be solved and sometimes, we get angry about it. But as long as we can reflect and look at things with an attitude(态度) of care and responsibility, we can weather the storm and help each other out.

Zhou Hengxiao helped make the mini-program. He is a member of the BFSU Love Cats Group. He says it is useful for both the students and the cats. Through the mini-program, students can learn more about the cats.

The group is also active on Weibo, Bilibili and Xiaohongshu."We share the culture of our university through the cats. When we make money from these platforms(平台), we will use it to feed the cats and help with their illnesses," he says.

The group hopes to add more cats near the university to Beiwai Cats."Some people think it's a little dangerous for students to feed the cats, but we just want to do our best to give every small life a home," says Zhou."Students can learn how to take care of others too."

Keeping fit is important for everyone, even kids! It helps our bodies and minds stay in good shape. There are many fun ways to keep fit. Let's take a look at them!

One of the best ways to keep fit is to play outside. Skating, swimming, running, playing basketball, or even walking are all great activities. They are great for our hearts and make us feel happy. Remember, when you play, it's not only about working out, it's also about enjoying life!

Another way to keep fit is to eat healthy food. Fruit and vegetables are good for our bodies. They give us the energy to run or play and help us feel good. If we eat unhealthy food all the time, we might feel tired and get lazy.

Have you heard of"April Snow"? It's not real snow— it's catkins(飞絮)! They mainly come from willows and pop lar trees. They fly in the air like tiny clouds, creating"April Snow". Although they look soft, they may make people's noses, eyes and even skin uncomfortable.

On January 20, 2025, a Chinese tech company named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1.This smart program can solve maths problems, write code, and answer questions like top models such as OpenAI's GPT-40, but it costs much less to build. The team spent only 5.58 million dollars(1/70 of OpenAI's cost) and used 2,048 computer chips(芯片) for two months. This shows that good ideas can beat big money.

DeepSeek-R1 learns by trying many times and getting better, like how students practise maths. Other AIs need lots of prepared examples, but R1 improves by itself. For example, in a global maths test, it got 79.8% right, slightly higher than OpenAI's model. A simple version of R1 can even run on low-cost computers, helping schools and small companies.

DeepSeek-R1 is free to use and change. On its first day online, over 19,000 programmers worldwide started projects to study it. A German scientist said experiments with R1 cost 10 dollars instead of 300 dollars with other AIs. Even a top scientist at Meta(a famous U. S. tech company) said,"This kind of free AI could change the world."

Tech companies in the US are worried. Meta plans to spend over 65 billion dollars on AI research. Experts say China is catching up fast. A report in Nature magazine called R1 a"big step forward", proving that smart ideas beat expensive tools.

As a DeepSeek engineer said,"We want AI to be a friend, not something only rich people can use." WithR1, China shows the world that great things come from new ideas and hard work, not just money.

It might be fun to use your smartphone, but be careful. Too much screen time may be harmful(有害的) to your health.

First, it is bad for your eyes. A researcher called Sarah Hinkley says the problem comes from the blue light that the screen gives out. Looking at a smartphone for a long time can cause eye strain(眼疲劳),headaches and dry eyes. So it is a good idea to take a break every 15 minutes when you are working at a computer or using a smartphone.

Second, screen use can do harm to children's brains. A new study shows that using screens too much can affect(影响) how children's brains grow. If children use screens for more than one hour a day, they might have lower levels of white matter(白质) in their brains. White matter is a key to the development of language and reading skills. So it is wise to cut down the time of children using all kinds of screens.

Third, using screens too much will affect your sleep. According to a study, about 95% of the people between the ages of 13 and 64 use electronics before bed, especially the young people under 20. Doctors say that the light from those electronics at night may make you excited before you go to bed. Then it's hard for you to get enough sleep. So you'd better turn off smartphones, TVs, and all other screens an hour before your bedtime.

Several months ago, Lindsay Nemeth, a Canadian woman,4 just 75 hours and 6 minutes visiting the magical attractions, making her the 5 woman to visit all Disney theme parks in such a short time. Lindsay dreamed of visiting all the Disney theme parks around the world. She started her journey in the US. After that,she got to France, Shanghai and Hong Kong and 6 ended her amazing journey in Tokyo.

To 7 time, she often chose to sleep on her plane rides. She tried her best to make sure she wouldn't miss any of her flights. She was always in a hurry because the Guinness World Records(吉尼斯世界纪录) said that she must go on 8 one ride and get statements from two witnesses(目击者) in each theme park to show that she has 9 finished the ride.

Although the 10 was very difficult, Lindsay gave herself a goal of less than 80 hours. And she achieved it in less time.

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour is organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature(WWF) and it's a big event usually March every year. On that evening people"go dark", that is, turn off lights in their homes, schools and businesses all at the same time for one hour.

Earth Hour started in Australia in 2007, when 2.2 million people in Sydney  all unnecessary lights for an hour. Since then, it has grown into an international event, and many countries around the world have taken part in it. that have gone dark for Earth Hour include Buckingham Palace in London,the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Forbidden City in Beijing and New York's Empire State Building. Even astronauts on the space station have also taken part.

Earth Hour is much more than just an hour of turning off lights. By Earth Hour, we are sending a clear message that we care about the future of our planet and  take practical steps to protect it. Let's work together to build a more sustainable and beautiful world for all.
