We can't remember clearly when we started to take our mobiles to dinner table. This happens a lot,  (especial) when we eat out. We usually go to a fancy restaurant, once a dish comes, instead of  (lift) our chopsticks, we take out our mobiles and click. Later, we post (发布) the  (picture) onto Weibo or WeChat, waiting to be "liked". Then we check our mobiles during the meal  (see) how many comments we got. We just cannot leave our mobiles for simply a meal.

Does that sound familiar to you? Do you do that often? If not, how do you  (feel) when others do that when having dinner with you?

A recent (近来的) study  (suggest) that what we often do is not so good. Spending time taking photos of food  (make) the food less pleasant. Some people were asked to take photos before they could enjoy food. As a result, it showed that the  (many) photos they took, the less delicious the food seemed to them. So, why not stop taking photos and just enjoy the food in front of you?

On May 24, 2021, 46-year-old Zhang Hong reached the top of Qomolangma, which made him the first blind person from Asia to conquer (征服) the world's highest mountain. Erik Weihenmayer and Andy Holzer made it in 2001 and 2017. They are the only three blind mountain climbers who have climbed Qomolangma. Before heading for Qomolangma, Zhang had climbed up three mountains above 6,000 meters.

Born in Chongqing, Zhang became blind at the age of 21 due to glaucoma (青光眼). Both his father and uncle lost their sight because of the same disease, so Zhang knew exactly what life would be like for blind people from an early age. But luckily, he was saved by his wife. "I felt so hopeless then. But my wife was always there and encouraged me. Without her by my side, I couldn't have pulled myself together," Zhang recalled. Later, Zhang became a blind masseur (按摩师) and in 2012 he moved to Tibet.

In 2015, by accident, he heard of the blind American mountain climber Weihenmayer, who climbed Qomolangma. This gave him the idea of giving it a try. He then started to climb the mountains together with his guide. He did a lot of training such as rock climbing and walking on snow and ice.

Zhang also met many other mountain climbers from all over the world. They all encouraged him even though they spoke different languages. Zhang could feel their warmth through hugs or pats on his shoulder. Zhang said the climbing of Qomolangma taught him many things, including how to trust people.

"I can't see the world, but I want the world to see me," Zhang said. "I've got so much energy from my family and friends. Now I'd like to share that energy with others and encourage other disabled people."

China is an old country with a long history and special culture. As time passes by, Chinese people's clothing changes, too. There are many types of costume in Chinese history, such as qipao and Chinese Tang costume.  Sometimes you can see foreigners wearing them. Nowadays more and more people begin to try another costume — Hanfu.

Hanfu was the traditional clothing of ancient (古代的) Chinese people. Ancient Chinese people thought of Hanfu as a very important part of their culture. They wore Hanfu during some special occasions, like the Spring Festival. According to the legend (传说), his wife was the first to know how to make silk and taught others to make Hanfu with silk.

Since Shang Dynasty, Hanfu has changed. For example, Hanfu doesn't have buttons (扣子). Instead, it has a sash (腰带) to keep clothes closed. And people usually overlap (使重叠) the right side of the clothes with the left side.

 You can see them wearing Hanfu on different occasions, like on their birthdays or National Day.

In 2025, our country has launched a special "Sports and Health Year" activity. The activity aims to encourage (鼓励) everyone, especially students, to do more sports and focus on their health.

Doing sports is very important for us. It can make us strong and healthy. There are many kinds of sports that we can do, such as running, swimming, playing basketball, and cycling. Running can help us improve our heart-lung function. Swimming is good for our muscle development. Playing basketball is a great way to build teamwork.

For students, sports can also help us study better. When we exercise, our brains get more oxygen. This can help us think more clearly in class.

In schools, there are more sports activities than before. Some schools hold sports meetings every month. Students can choose the sports they like to take part in. There are also more sports clubs. For example, many students join the football clubs and the badminton clubs.

To make this activity more successful, the government has built more sports centers in cities and towns. People can go there to exercise for free.

Let's take part in the "Sports and Health Year" activity and make sports a part of our daily life!

World Reading Day is held on April 23rd every year. On this day, we are encouraged to read more books. Reading is like opening a window to different worlds. Around 130 million books have been come out in the human history. A reader will read at most 6,000 books in his life. Most of them won't be so much fun or very unforgettable. Books are like people. We meet many but only a few touch our hearts.

Perhaps we will only remember about 30 books. They will be different for each of us, but they affect (影响) us in similar ways.

Books make us show our feelings better. When we see a bird flying in the sky, we have a beautiful feeling, but we may find it hard for us to use words to show our feelings and finally we just say, "That's so nice." However, a good writer can describe it wonderfully. He shows us the angle (角度) of the wing, the slow movement of the largest branch (树枝) of a tree and the angle of the mouth in a smile.

Great writers build bridges for us in order to communicate with each other. They describe the similar experiences of us, and show us what we can share with each other and how we can help each other.

They also help us to feel. By reading a book, we meet someone. Perhaps she is very beautiful, young, smart but dying, and we feel sad about her hurt and the unfairness of the world. Or perhaps she is poor, weak but hard-working, and we find the courage to face the difficulties in life through her story.

In order to better show the beautiful students with good qualities to the public, our school is holding an activity of "Discover Beautiful Students". Fantastic works from the students are expected to be submitted to our school. Through the sharing of the beauty, we hope to pass love and positive energy onto the people around us.

In Shanghai, a new ice cream shop has recently become famous for its new food: ice creams made from Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) (中医). There are many different 1 for you to choose from. Many visitors are curious about it.

Because  the longer class breaks, schools are getting creative with break time activities. In Beijing, some schools built special animal areas where children can feed ducks and pet rabbits breaks. Schools in Shenzhen added colourful slides (滑梯) to playgrounds, helping students reach outdoor areas just 30 seconds. In Chongqing, teachers organize (组织) ping-pong matches and skipping ropes competitions. Some schools even have "dance breaks", students can follow music to move together. While these activities make students' school days lively, safety remains the top priority (优先考虑).

There is no doubt that longer breaks achieve (获得) greater balance between learning relaxing. Chinese students are discovering the joy of active school life.
