Classical Chinese gardens are purposely designed（故意地）so that no matter where you stand, you can never see the whole thing at once. The mystery and the discovery have helped the classical gardens of China, especially those in Suzhou, remain（保持不变）popular attractions after all these years. The aim of a classical Chinese garden is to. deepen（加深）one's admiration（赞美。欣赏）of nature. Besides just relaxing in nature, the classical Chinese gardens have another purpose —— to inspire(激发) artistic expression like poetry, literature or painting. Nearly all Chinese gardens feature(特点) the things in the list below. 

Water

Water is a necessary thing that no Chinese garden can go without. The water in a garden typically symbolizes a lake or even the ocean. Water can even symbolize communication, movement and dreams. 

Rocks

Large rocks typically symbolize mountains Many of the rocks in the Suzhou gardens come from Lake Tai, having been shaped by the flow of water over thousands of years. Smaller rocks are often on show in the fancy halls at a garden's entrance. This shows the appreciation the garden owners had of these rocks. 

Plants

You can't have a garden without plants. Different plants and flowers are used for either symbolic or aesthetic(美学的) purpose or both. Bamboo, for example, represents strength. Flowers, meanwhile, add color to a garden, with each carrying a symbolic meaning of its own. 

Gates & Windows

Gates of different shapes divide different parts of a garden. The most common type of gate, the moon gate, is simply a circle. Windows are placed throughout the garden to allow the passage of light. You can also catch a glimpse of interesting trees or rocks on the other side from the window. 

Pavilions(亭)

In Chinese gardens, pavilions are usually placed in some of the best viewing places. Sometimes a pavilion is placed where one can see the reflection(倒影) of the moon at night, or in the best place to listen to the sound of rain on the leaves above. In the past, pavilions were also used as places for garden owners to reflect, paint and write poems. 

Have you watched Escape From the British Museum《逃出大英博物馆》? This short video series（系列）. was directed by two Chinese vloggers（视频博主）. They went to the U. K. in June. and pent three months making the series. There are three videos in the series、Each video is less than minutes long. 

In the story, a Chinese jade teapot（玉壶）turns into a girl. She runs out of the British Museum, and meets a Chinese news reporter. With his help, she finally goes back to China. Some lines in the series are very touching. One example is, "Family, I have been lost for a long time. " The vloggers say they want to draw attention to Chinese cultural relics（文物）abroad. 

During the Second Opium War（第二次鸦片战争）, British and French soldiers stole the Old Summer Palace. The stolen relics were sent to museums across Europe. Today, the British Museum has about 23, 000 Chinese relics. 

In August, a piece of news shocked the world. About 2, 000 relics had been stolen from the British Museum. Some of them were from about 3, 500 years ago. Many countries have asked the safety of the 10 museum. 

The two vloggers started posting their series on August 30. It soon became very popular. Many viewers began discussing the return of Chinese relics. This shows people's love for traditional Chinese culture. It also shows that short videos can be more than just fun. "The series sends out an important voice, " and one of the viewers" We want the Chinese relic to come back"

In Australia, National Tree Day is on the last Sunday in July. In China, Tree Planting Day is on 12th March. Trees are very important in our life. Trees make our city beautiful. We can get a lot of things from trees. We get fruit from trees. We also get wood from trees. 

We use wood to make pencils, desks and chairs. We can use wood to make paper, too. Trees can keep the air clean. They can cool the air, too. So we should love trees. We should plant more trees. On Tree Planting Day, we can plant trees with our teachers and classmates. It is interesting!

My grandpa loves playing chess. Every day he plays chess with his friends. Last week, he came to visit us in the city. But he was very disappointed when he found nobody here 1  play chess with him. 

One day,2  I came back from school, I found my grandpa sitting quietly in his room, doing nothing. I knew he was lonely. "Why not advise him 3  online chess on the computer?" I thought.
