Hangzhou, a city in East China, is full of natural beauty and rich culture. The West Lake is one of the most popular (place) in the city. Every year, millions of visitors take a boat trip  the lake. They come here to enjoy the green hills (quiet).

Right now, a group of students (take) pictures near the famous Broken Bridge. They all say,"How wonderful the lake is!" If you visit Hangzhou, a tea experience is a must. You can go to a traditional tea house (learn) about Longjing tea. This tea is widely known as a favourite drink of emperors in ancient China. A tea master will show you how to make a perfect cup. It looks ordinary,  you will find the light green colour very special when you have a close look. Besides, (it) sweet smell is also unforgettable. Many people think that making tea is  art, and many visitors enjoy (learn) the skills. Tea is not only a (health) drink, but also an important part of Chinese culture.

Water is like a secret hero in history. Many great ancient cultures started near big rivers.  For example, the ancient Egyptians lived by the Nile. They used its water to drink and grow food. The Yellow River was also important for early Chinese people. They called it the"Mother River".

Rivers were early roads.  They carried goods from town to town. When they met, they didn't just share things.  This way, different cultures shared ideas and made new things together.

 Sometimes, no rain fell for a very long time. When a river dried up, people had to leave their homes. Water gives and takes away.

Today, many of these old rivers need our help. 

Last summer, Grace visited Osaka, Japan, with her parents. The city was holding Expo 2025, a world meeting about better life in the future. People from many countries showed ideas for health, clean energy, smart homes and easier travel. Grace liked the small models best. A guide told her that young people should learn, ask questions and share ideas. She was excited because some ideas were close to her daily life in Shenzhen.

In Shenzhen, many buses and taxis use electricity. They are quiet and make the air cleaner. Grace takes an electric bus to school every day. She also sees charging stations(充电站) in many places. Her father says this makes long city trips easier than before. Some stations can charge cars quickly, so drivers do not need to wait for a long time.

Another new thing is the drone（无人机）. In some parts of Shenzhen, drones can carry food or small things from one place to another. They may fly over busy roads and save time. Grace once watched a drone bring drinks to a park. It looked like a scene from a science book, but it was real.

However, Grace learned that technology is not magic. It needs rules. Drones should not fly too close to people. Electric cars still need safe batteries and enough charging places. At the Expo, she wrote one sentence in her notebook:"The best fi···re is not only smart, but also safe and kind to the Earth."

On Saturday morning, a group of students went to Shenzhen International Cultural Industries Fair. Their teacher said they would travel the world without leaving Shenzhen. At first some laughed, but they soon understood.

In one hall, Maya from India showed students how to draw bright flowers on paper fans. She said the patterns came from stories of family and nature. In another hall, a young Frenchman played a piece on a wooden piano. He said music helps people become friends. Two Thai girls taught visitors to say"hello"and"thank you"in Thai.

Li Ming liked the Chinese culture area best. He tried paper cutting and made a red fish. It was not perfect, but he felt proud and realized that this trip was about trying something new, not just taking photos. Anna bought a postcard of Nantou Ancient Town for her cousin in Singapore, inviting her to visit.

At noon, a Shenzhen volunteer gave a talk. She said the city is open, young and dynamic, always full of energy and new ideas. She also reminded students to be polite guides. A smile, a map and a few English words can make a big difference.

On the way home, students wrote down countries they wished to visit. Their teacher smiled and said,"Learn to understand people near you. The world can begin from a fair, a song, or a paper fish."

At Bao'an Middle School in Shenzhen, some students once had a small problem. Birds sang near the school pond（池塘）every early morning. The songs were beautiful to many people, but a few students said they could not study well.

The school did not drive the birds away. Instead, teachers turned the problem into a lesson. They asked students to watch the birds, count how many came each week, write down what they saw and learn why animals choose a place to live. A science teacher also told them that a city is not only for people. Trees, water and animals are parts of it too.

Later, the students made quiet signs near the pond. They told visitors not to shout or throw food. Some students even wrote short English notes for foreign visitors, because more people from different countries now come to Shenzhen to see its green life. The notes were short, but they were warm and useful.

The birds still sing in the morning, but the students feel differently. They say the songs remind them to respect life around them. A noisy morning has become a lively class about people and animal friends.

When the 15th National Games came to Shenzhen, many students worked as volunteers. Lin Xin was one of them. She hoped to 1 visitors and show the best of Chinese volunteers. Every weekend, she did voluntary work outside. Her mother thought she would be too 2 , but Lin thought it gave her courage and 3 .
