As a child, Lin often asked questions about life and faith. His desire to understand the world stayed with him throughout his life. His creativity didn't stop with writing and translation. Facing the challenge of typing Chinese characters, Lin spent years designing a Chinese typewriter. In 1947, his MingKwai typewriter finally came out. It played an important role in language research.
