One day, Mr. Dongguo used a donkey(驴) to carry a bag of books to the State of Zhongshan. Suddenly, a wounded wolf ran to him and begged Mr. Dongguo to save it. Mr. Dongguo agreed. Then Mr. Dongguo opened his bag and put the wolf into it. A moment later, the hunter came up and asked Mr. Dongguo, "Have you seen a wolf? Where did it go?"

Mr. Dongguo said, "I haven't seen any wolves." The hunter turned around and left. After the hunter left, the wolf said in the bag, "Sir, please let me out of the bag and let me escape."

The kind-hearted Mr. Dongguo did what the wolf said. But unexpectedly the wolf pounced upon(扑向) Mr. Dongguo and wanted to eat him. At this moment, an old farmer passed by. Mr. Dongguo hurriedly asked him to pass judgment (评理).

The old farmer thought it over and said, "I don't believe either of you.How can this bag hold a wolf? Please do it again so I can see it with my own eyes."

The wolf agreed and let Mr. Dongguo put it into the bag. The farmer killed the wolf at once and said to Mr. Dongguo, "This man-eating animal will never change its nature (本质). You must remember the lesson: It is too stupid and too dangerous to be kind to a wolf."

Classics are the gems (宝石) of the literary world. For years, people have read them to learn more. But now, more people love"watching"these classics in videos. According to a 2024 survey by Douyin, the total time of classic-related videos on Douyin jumped by 48%.

Lots of people get what they want by"watching" classics.

"Sometimes I need to read some classics but I'm not interested in them," said He Liyan from Jiangsu. "So I watch videos about the books to find some interesting stories. They can keep me reading." Some people also find classics long and hard to understand, so they watch vloggers'(视频博主的) introductions.

"The vloggers also add personal opinions to their introductions,making the books easier to understand," added He.

"There are so many characters in the novel and they make me confused," said Shao Xinyao from Hubei. "The mind maps in the videos make their relationships clear."

While reading with videos helps many people, some express different opinions and worries.

For Zhang Boren from Beijing, reading is a journey about forming a personal relationship with the text, not just learning information. "Books can let me imagine. Although videos can help a lot, they can't show every part of the story," he said.

Wang Hongjie from Sichuan agreed, saying, "It may reduce readers'ability to read by themselves and think deeply."

One day, Anne's foster mother(养母) Marilla told Anne that MissStacy, a new teacher, had come to Green Gables.
