When I was in primary school, I was afraid to speak in front of others. I thought my ideas were not good enough, so I never shared them in class. But everything changed when I entered junior high school.

My new English teacher encouraged us to share our thoughts freely. One day, we had a discussion about how to make our school more beautiful. At first, I was quiet, but then I remembered how I loved planting flowers in my garden. I raised my hand and suggested we plant more flowers and trees around the school.

To my surprise, my classmates liked my idea. We worked together to plan the project. We asked the school to give us seeds and tools, and we spent our after-school time planting. Soon, our school was filled with colorful flowers and green trees.

This experience taught me that everyone's ideas matter. Now, I am not afraid to speak up. I often join in group discussions and share my creative thoughts. I believe that even small ideas can make our school and our world better.

In a small town in India, farmers used to have trouble growing crops because of dry soil and lack of water. They tried many ways but nothing worked. Then, a local teacher named Raj came up with an idea: using banana leaves to keep soil moist (湿润的).

Raj noticed that banana leaves are thick and can hold water. He told the farmers to cover the soil around their crops with banana leaves. The leaves stopped the water from evaporating (蒸发) quickly and kept the soil cool. This simple idea helped the farmers grow more crops and earn more money.

Later, Raj and the farmers started a project to collect banana leaves from nearby villages. They also taught other villages to use this method. Now, thousands of farmers in the area benefit from Raj's creative idea.

The story of the light bulb is one of the most famous examples of creative thinking. Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb, but he improved it to make it practical for daily use.

Before Edison's work, early light bulbs burned out quickly, only a few minutes. Edison tried over 1,000 different materials for the filament (灯丝) before he found the right one—carbonized bamboo. This filament could burn for over 1,200 hours.

Edison once said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." His positive attitude and persistence helped him succeed. Today, his invention has changed the way we live, work and learn.

When I was in Grade 8, my school's playground was always full of broken basketballs and old jump ropes. No one cared about them, and they just became 1 around the yard. One day, my PE teacher asked our class to 2  a way to reuse these old things.

At first, everyone was confused. We had never done anything like this before. But then, one of my classmates  3 an idea: we could turn the broken basketballs into small seats and the old ropes into skipping ropes for the primary school kids nearby.

We all liked the idea and started working right away. Some of us 4 the basketballs and cleaned them, while others cut and tied the ropes. It took us two weeks to finish the work. When we gave the new seats and ropes to the primary school, the kids were so 5 that they jumped with joy.

Our small creative act not only  6  waste but also brought happiness to others. After that, our school started a "Reuse & Create" club. More and more students joined in, and we had many great 7 to make old things useful again.
