The New Year party was usually held at my aunt's house and my favorite part was the apple cake. At the age of 11, when I first found out that my grandfather, who was never in the kitchen, was the master behind it, I was greatly 1 . And I thought that this was the perfect chance to get the recipe（制作方法）, and that I could actually have a time to 2 with him.

The Internet is becoming more and more important in our daily life. It was invented in the 1960s. At first, it was only used by the government and large companies. In the 1990s, it became available to the public.

The Internet has changed our lives in many ways. We can use it to communicate with others, get information, do shopping, and even study. We can also enjoy music, movies and games on the Internet.

However, the Internet also has some problems. For example, there is a lot of false information on the Internet. We should be careful when we use the Internet.

The telephone is another great invention. It was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. Bell was a teacher of the deaf. He was always trying to find ways to help the deaf people communicate better.

One day, while Bell was working in his lab, he spilled (洒出) some acid (酸) on his clothes. He shouted, "Mr. Watson, come here! I want you!" Watson was in another room. He heard Bell's voice on the telephone. This was the first telephone message.

In 1908, Henry Ford started the Ford Motor Company. He wanted to make cars that many people could afford.  This made the production faster and the cars cheaper. By 1913, Ford's company was making a car every 93 minutes.

Do you know when the first bike appeared? It was in 1817. The early bikes were difficult to ride. They didn't have pedals (踏板). People had to move them forward by pushing their feet against the ground.

In 1839, a Scottish man, Kirkpatrick Macmillan, invented a new kind of bike. It had pedals. With the help of the pedals, people could ride the bike much faster. But the wheels were made of wood, so they were easy to break.

Later, in 1885, J. K. Starley from England made important changes to the bike. He made the front wheel smaller than the back one. He also made the wheels out of rubber. These changes made the bike lighter and easier to ride. Since then, the shape of the bike has not changed very much.
