Dongting Lake is the home of many plants and animals.It's one of China'slakes，but now it's losing its beauty and life.

Why is this？First，people cut down too many trees around the lake.Without trees，the rain washes soil （泥土） the water，making it dirty.Second，factories and farms near the lake pour （倾倒） waste into it.The water bad，and the fish starts to die.Some people also hunt birds that live around the lake，so their are dropping fast.Last year，news showed dead fish floating （漂浮） on the lake's.Even worse，the lake is getting because of all the soil and waste filling it up.

If we keep hurting it，this amazing natural wonder might soon.To save the lake，we can start from small things.Students can join clean-up activities to collect waste around.The government is planting new trees around the lake to stop soil from washing away.It is also making rules to stop factories from polluting the water.

Going to school can be really fun!Here are some simple ways to make middle school days even happier.

Peng Jingxuan，aged 30，comes from Hunan，China.She studied in a music university in France years ago.She wanted to let more people know about traditional Chinese culture.Every weekend，you could see her on the streets of France.She wore a beautiful Han-style dress （汉服） and played the guzheng for people.

Peng was born in 1995.She started to learn the guzheng at the age of seven.When she came to France in 2017，she saw many street performers （街头艺人）.But few people knew about Chinese music.So she decided to play the guzheng on the street.

Her first performance was in October 2018，in front of a theater. "I was very anxious then and my heart almost stopped，" she said. "But many people stopped to listen and said they liked it." After that，she became less nervous and often performed on weekends and holidays.Many French people asked her about the guzheng，so she began to carry a book to tell them about this Chinese instrument.

Later，Peng put her first video on the social media.It became popular quickly!Now she has millions of fans from all over the world. "When people ask me where the guzheng is from，I'm proud to tell them： "China!" Peng says.She thinks it's her job to share Chinese culture. "What is national is international，" she says. "I hope more people can love Chinese music."
