Long ago, there was a monster (怪物) called "Nian". At the end of the winters, he often appeared in a village and ate the animals and villagers. The monster seemed very strong and nobody could fight him. So the villagers had to hide in the mountains.

The villagers later learned that Nian felt afraid of red colors, light and loud noises. They decided to put up red couplets (对联), set off (点燃) firecrackers and stay up late when it was time for Nian's visit at the end of winter. That is the legend (传奇) of how the Spring Festival celebration began.

On October 7th, with the score 1—2, Chinese badminton player Chen Yufei lost the match at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. She got the silver medal. Chen said on the social media, "At the Hangzhou Asian Games, which is likely to be my final Asian Games, receiving a silver medal is something I can accept with a smile. That's because I've tried my best."

During the earlier match, her injuries (受伤，损伤) caused her left leg to feel weak. Because of the injuries, she had to take medicine to stop the pain during both the semi-finals and finals, and it was also the first time she used muscle patches (肌贴) all over her body. She also needed to put medicine on her back, thighs, and ankles until late at night.

 Some people like meat. Some people like hamburgers or bread. Others prefer rice and vegetables.

Most people have their colors.  Some people like red and yellow. Others prefer white and black.

Many people like traveling. Different people like different places. Some people like to go to the cities, because they like shopping.

Recently, many students got a special kind of pneumonia (肺炎).  It is not a bacteria (细菌) or virus. It is one of the tiniest microbes (微生物). MP is tricky (难对付的). When it goes into our bodies, it hides (隐藏) there for one to three weeks.  

MP doesn't always make us get pneumonia. Some people just feel like they have a cold. Kids can more easily get pneumonia from MP.  Usually, the pneumonia caused by MP is not very serious.  So it is also called "walking pneumonia". 

MP can go from one person to another when people talk or cough.  Remember to: 

·Open the windows in your home to keep the air fresh. 

·Wash your hands often with water and soap. 

·Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing (打喷嚏).
