Rob Frenette has suffered from bullying(欺凌) at school for eleven years. He was often lonely and afraid at school. 

After a long time of suffering from sadness and pain, he decided to say goodbye to his past life and do something about his problems. When he was fifteen, he walked into a newspaper office and told them about the bullying. His story went into the newspaper and soon all the TV stations in Canada wanted to talk with him about his experiences. 

After that, Rob continued his studies at school, but in his free time, he helped other people with bullying problems. With his friend Katie, he made a website called www. bullyingcanada. ca. Visitors to the website can find advice, stories and poems about bullying. When people are upset, they can talk online to Rob and his team. Every weekend, Rob has to answer emails to the website. 

He also speaks to children, teachers and members of government around the country about bullying. Rob's most important message is:" When bullying happens to you, it isn't your fault. So you should try to keep trusting yourself. And remember that people care about your problems. "

One of Rob's ideas is" Blue Day", a special day for stopping bullying in schools. Students have to wear blue clothes in class, and learn how to stop bullying. More than 150 Canadian schools celebrate Blue Day now. However, Rob won't stop until there's a Blue Day in every school in Canada. 

Five years ago, I was at school when I got a call from Mom. She said that our house was completely destroyed in a terrible tornado(龙卷风). I felt 1 after hearing the news and then rushed back home. 2 , neither of my parents got hurt. But Mom couldn't stop crying since we had 3 left. Seeing the tears on her face, I walked up and tried to 4 her. After a short of fear, we calmed down and started to think about what could be done next. 

Some 5 from the local government came to help in time. They offered us some food and money which we needed most. We 6 the following few days in a community center but still didn't know what was waiting for us. 

One of my best friends, Elsa, hurried there with a large-sized 7 in her hand. In it, there was some fruit, biscuits, two coats and so on. I found neither of the coats was 8 for me. But I really didn't mind because her care was far more than that. It was more touching thatI 9 got some books to read from her bag. 

As days went by, we 10 to my uncle's old flat which stayed empty for a couple of years. It was much 11 , but after all it was a place called home. 12 we moved in, life was better. However, our relatives, friends and some strangers continued to help us. 

Thanks to 13 help, we finally lived through the pain. And for the first time I realized that 14 was enough when I had nothing else left in my life. 

Looking back now, the 15 time turns out to be an unforgettable experience. No one can tell when disaster will come and what it may cause, but if we have some space for others in our heart and are ready to help, we can get over any" tornado" in our life. 

On a warm summer afternoon, Tina was working close to the ground. Wet soil got on her clothes and hair. Tina smiled a lot when she worked on the Hanapepe salt patch on the west side of Kauai. 

Tina drove about an hour to get here. "It's hard work. But for me, it's also play, " Tina said, adding with a laugh. "I play in the mud all day, "Tina's family is one of 22 families that have devoted themselves to promoting the cultural tradition of paakai, the Hawaiian word for salt. 

This is one of the last remaining salt patches in Hawaii. The salt produced here can be traded or given away, but it is not to be sold. Hawaiians use it for cooking, healing and protection. However, this place has been facing many kinds of threats over the past ten years, including social development, pollution from a nearby airport and sand erosion from traffic and rubbish thrown by visitors. 

Besides, what worries the people most is the climate change, causing rising in sea level and bad weather situations. Last year, the salt-making season lasted only three months, from July to September, because of heavy rain. During a good year, work often begins in May and ends in November. 

Tina leads efforts to protect centuries-old traditions. Her grandfather played an important role in forming a group of salt-making families called Hui Hana Paakai. The organization's goal, Tina said, is to protect the traditional practice of making salt by hand, which had been passed down for many years. 

He was  tired  he couldn't work any more. 

Language is important both because ofwhat it communicates and how it does the communication. The power of language is so strong that it shows how language can actually influence the way we think. To broaden language is to broaden the ability to think. We can see this in children, whose thinking develops gradually hand in hand with the language. 

So how to use the power of language: turning words into shapes. Professors have found that our subconscious mind explains what it hears. The words that come out of our mouths create the reality— for better or worse. Unfortunately, it's often worse as we destroy our hope of success simply by using negative language that influences our opinions and kills our confidence. What you think directly influences how you feel and how you behave. So if you think you' re a loser, you' ll feel like a loser. Then, you' ll act like a loser, which strengthens your belief that you must be a loser. 

Creating a more positive outlook can lead to better outcomes. That's not to say positive thoughts have magical powers. But positive thoughts lead to productive behavior, which increases your chances of a successful outcome. To build self-confidence, you have to change the way you speak. Remember them: Try to use positive language. Take actions quickly. Have your opinions. And don't often say sorry to other people unless you are wrong. Words have magical powers. They can either bring the greatest happiness or the deepest despair.

Binge-watching is when a person watches more than one episode of a show in quick succession.  With developments in the speed and connectivity of the Internet, increases in technology and the rise of on-demand entertainment companies, people can now have their favorite shows streamed directly to their television at their convenience. 

This behavior is nothing new. In fact, "binge-watching" has been officially listed in dictionaries since 2015. The entertainment companies recognize this behavior and many take steps to encourage it. Often, instead of releasing each episode on a week-by-week basis, an entire series will become available concurrently. Once the episode finishes many platforms will display pop-ups with"you might like suggestions, or will automatically play the next episode". 

However, recent research suggests that out of the more than half of British adults who watch more than one episode of a show back-to-back, almost a third have admitted missing sleep or becoming tired as a result; and one quarter have neglected their household chores. Next we' ll be missing work!

Bingeing has other connections— binge eating, binge drinking and binge smoking. All of them are often associated with a lack of control and a possible route to addiction. LindseyFussell, consumer group director, said, "The days of waiting a week for the next episode are largely gone, with people finding it hard to resist watching multiple episodes around the house or on the move. "If people find binge-watching hard to resist, coupled with the fact that it has shown to lead to negligence in many, are we witnessing the birth of a new type of addiction?

The countless information and entertainment that television and online media can bring us is, many would say, a good thing. However, when the activity begins to bleed into other areas, causing us to stop functioning then it becomes a problem. So, what's the answer? Moderation! Neither a tiny amount, nor too much. After all, as the old proverb says, "A little of what you fancy does you good. "
