The Healthy Diet Made Me

For the past 60 years, French kids didn't have to wear school uniforms. They could wear anything they liked to school. But now, things are  (change).

About 100 schools in France are now asking their students  (wear) uniforms. The uniform can be a white or grey shirt, a blue sweater, and grey pants.

France is famous for fashion. However, these new school uniforms aren't fashionable because looking fashionable isn't the main goal at school. The schools hope uniforms can help solve  (problem) like bullying (霸凌).

On May 4, 2025, a terrible boat accident took place in Qianxi, Guizhou. At about 4:40 p.m., four boats turned over in the Liuguang River. This river is in Xinren Township of Qianxi, inside the Wu River Baili Gallery Scenic Area.

There were 84 people in this accident. Two of the boats were carrying passengers. One boat had 38 passengers and 2 crew (船员). The other had 35 passengers and 2 crew. The other two boats were at the dock (码头), and there were 7 workers on them.

Right after the accident, many rescuers (救援者) were sent to help. They worked hard to save people in the water. By 12:45 p.m. on May 5, they found all 84 people. However, the death of 10 people was very sad. Seventy people were taken to the hospital, and they were safe. Four people didn't get hurt at all.

People are still trying to find out what caused the accident. To stop this from happening again, we need to do some things. First, always check the weather before boats leave. If the weather looks bad, boats should stay at the dock. Second, fix and check boats often to make sure the boats work well. Third, give each passenger a life jacket and teach them how to use it. Fourth, train the crew so they know what to do when bad things happen.

Safety is quite important, especially when traveling by boat. If we follow these rules, we can stay away from accidents and keep ourselves safe.

Nowadays, many people prefer messaging apps like WeChat to phone calls.  For some people, making calls can be scary—this fear is called telephobia (电话恐惧症).

 Even those who feel comfortable talking face to face with others can get nervous on the phone. When we talk face to face, we can see each other's faces and body language.  But on the phone, we can't see those things, and as a result, we may feel nervous and forget what to say.

There are ways to help make phone calls easier if you have telephobia.  It may sound funny, but smiling can help you feel more relaxed. Another way is to think about how the call will go. Think about what you want to say and plan a little bit. Finally, if you get a call and don't feel ready to answer, that's OK! 

So remember, there's no need to be afraid when talking on the phone. With practice and some preparations, you can make phone calls easily!

Have you ever noticed how fast time goes when you're having fun? If you're like most kids, you probably keep an eye on the clock during school hours. You know how long it is until lunch or when it's time to go home. But when you're at home having fun, do you look at the clock as much? The chances are that you don't! Time seems to fly when you're busy having a good time, and here's why.

When you're having fun, your mind is focused on the activity you enjoy. You might be playing a video game, riding your bike, or hanging out with friends. When you are into it, you overlook everything else, including time. But when you're bored, like during a long math lesson, your mind wanders (心不在焉), and you might keep checking the clock. It seems that time goes slower.

Another interesting thing about time is how people remember it. When you're on vacation, time might seem to fly by, but when you look back, it seems much longer. Why? Because you make lots of memories during fun times. Each fun event creates a little picture in your mind. When you remember your vacation, you bring out all those pictures, making it feel like a long journey. But during a boring week at school, you might only remember a few things, which makes that time seem to pass quickly in your memory.

So, try to make the most of your fun moments, and don't forget to hold on to those memories. They'll stick with you long after the fun is over, and you'll always have a smile when you look back!

An Nianchu (安念初) is a young artist from Guiyang, Guizhou. She paints beautiful 3D murals in a Tibetan village.

In 2016, An finished school at GuiyangUniversity, where she studied art. She visited Tibet for the first time and loved Cha Villagein Lhasa. The people were kind, and the place was very beautiful. She decided to stay and use her art to make the village look better. First, she painted pictures in small hotels and restaurants. Her paintings showed Tibetan culture.

In 2022, An and her team started a big project. They mixed old traditions with new art. First, she painted a girl giving Tibetan butter tea (酥油茶). The villagers loved it and wanted more murals on their houses. The project took two months. They painted on 20 houses, covering 2,000 square meters of walls. The murals showed Tibetan people, nature, animals, and plants. The village looked fresh and new. More tourists came to see the murals.

"Many people came to watch us paint," An said. "After we finished, tourists and even famous bloggers (网络博主) visited. They shared photos online. Now, more people know about Cha Village."

An hopes to paint in more villages. She wants more people to see the beauty of Tibet.
