Many kids go camping during the summer.Usually they start the camp in the morning and go home in the afternoon. That is called the day camp. Nowadays, another kind of camp, the sleep-away camp, is becoming popular with kids. It's a kind of vacation for kids without their parents. Kids usually spend a week at the sleep-away camp. It offers much more excitement because they'll be there all day and night, eating meals, playing games and communicating with others. They'll sleep in a cabin (小屋) with the other kids attending (参加) the camp. They have to share the bathroom with the other kids, too. 

If you go to a sleep - away camp for the first time, you'll feel excited and maybe a little nervous. Be proud of yourself for being old enough to go camping. It is a chance to try new things. It's also a chance to learn about being independent (独立的). Are you looking forward to attending such a camp in your summer vacation?

Should friends be different or similar? Different people have different ideas. The following is what four of my classmates say.

Our neighborhood is a large, friendly and lively community. More than 30 families live there. Last month, something wonderful happened in our neighborhood. We built a community garden. Mrs. Lin thought of the idea.

Mrs. Lin taught maths at our school until she retired (退休) last year. "Not everyone has room for a garden," said Mrs. Lin. "Let's build a garden that will be good for each family in the neighborhood. I am ready to be a volunteer, and try to make our community better."

On March 3, our neighbors came together at the garden to plant and water vegetable seeds. Then we had a big celebration. Mrs. Lin gave a talk and we ate sandwiches, apples and carrots for lunch. 

Families in the neighborhood volunteer to take care of the garden, and we will all share the results. What a great gift to the community! We are lucky to live in a neighborhood like this.
