The huge forest in South America is in the Amazon area. The Amazon rainforest is across eight countries and it covers an area of 7,000,000 square kilometers. It can produce about 20% of the world's oxygen (氧气). That's why the Amazon rainforest is called "the lungs of the earth".

The Amazon rainforest has the richest kinds of living things in the world. It's home to millions of species (物种) of plants and animals, so it is also known as "the animal and plant kingdom (王国) of the world".

But now its rainforest is in great danger because people cut down trees to sell. This act not only harms (破坏) the rainforest, but also causes the plants and animals that live there to lose their homes.

We must work together to protect the rainforest.

Kanu and Timo are brothers. They like playing football very much. They often play it with their friends after school.

One day, Mum asks them to buy some eggs so she can make lunch for the family. When the brothers make their way to the shop, they see some of their friends playing football on a field.

In China, there are 24 special times of the year called "solar terms" (节气). Farmers  (意识到) they are useful for farming activities.

One of them is "Grain in Ear" or "Mangzhong" in Chinese. It does not mean the end of early summer, instead it means the start of mid-summer. It usually  (发生) from June 5th to 7th. During "Grain in Ear", the weather always gets warmer and there is more rain. This  (肯定) helps the plants grow fast. Farmers work hard to pick  (新鲜的) vegetables and fruits in the fields. They know that if they do a good job now, they will have a good  (结果) later.

In some places, people feel  (困倦的) during this time. So they may eat special food such as green  (豆), or drink tea. In this way, they can stay  (健康的) in the hot weather.

Grain in Ear is not just about farming. It also tells us that success  (几乎不) comes without hard work. Just like the farmers, we need to study hard and become a better person, and then we can  (提高) ourselves or even succeed.

 Loving yourself also means knowing when to say "no". If some people or things make you feel tired, unhappy, or unsure of yourself, stay away from them. Tell yourself: "My feelings are important. It's okay to protect my peace."

 Every weekend, ask yourself: "What did I forget about myself this week? What made me happy? What made me tired? What do I need next?" Write down your answers. This will help you understand what you really need instead of just following everyone else.

What else can you do to love yourself? 

There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Each season has its own weather and fun things to do.

In February the snow begins to melt (融化) and spring comes. Spring is very beautiful. Flowers come out and trees grow new green leaves. Birds come back and build their homes. It is usually warm. It's a good time for people to spend their free time outside together with their family.

Then in June summer starts. The temperature in summer is sometimes very high and if it lasts (持续) for days or weeks, we call it a heatwave. The weather is so hot, but many people love the season because there are lots of water activities they can try, like swimming in lakes or exploring the deep sea.

Then leaves become yellow, red and brown and autumn comes. The weather is very ▲ in autumn. At first, the sky may be clear, but then it may rain heavily. Children like rain and they often go out in their raincoats. Also people often go hiking when it is cloudy.

The last season of the year is winter. The sky in winter is grey. There are no leaves on the trees. When the temperature is below zero, the roads become icy. Also, there are many fun different things you can do, such as skating, ice hockey and so on.

"Dear You", also called "A Love Letter to Grandma", is a warm and touching Chinese movie. It is full of true love and kindness.

The story is in the quiet old days of Chaoshan. It uses "Qiaopi" as its main clue (线索). Qiaopi are special letters with money inside. Many overseas (海外的) Chinese sent them to their families back home, far across the sea.

Many years ago, a man named Zheng Musheng left his wife Ye Shurou. He went to Thailand to make a living (谋生). Because they were far apart across the sea, the couple (夫妻) could only keep in touch by using these Qiaopi letters and money.

Years later, their grandson Xiaowei went to Thailand. He looked forward to finding his grandfather. But he slowly found out a secret: Zheng Musheng had died many years ago.

Touched by Musheng's past kindness, a kind woman named Xie Nanzhi decided to help. She wrote warm letters and sent money to Shurou secretly. She pretended to be Musheng for nearly 20 years. She supported two families all by herself and kept the old lady's hope alive — Ye Shurou always waited for her husband to come back safely.

In daily life, many unexpected accidents may happen to us if we are not  (care). So first aid is one of the  (important) life skills. However, many teenagers have seldom learned first aid skills. As a result, they may fail to help some  (patient) in time. For example, last week I  (chat) with friends on the playground when I saw a classmate fall down suddenly. We could do nothing but stand still  the teacher came to help him out.

Also we should care about some simple injuries. Although some of them seem not serious, we still need to treat them in time  (avoid) becoming worse. Like small cuts, we need to clean the wound and put on a bandage to protect it from dirt. For burns, we must use cold running water to cool the skin.  the injury is very serious, there is no need to go to hospital at once.
