Have you ever thought about what's more important, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable? You might have noticed many people choosing style over comfort and some even go to extremes to follow fashion. But we should remember: Being fashionable isn't everything. It's more important to be healthy.

Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live?

Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. Bu t these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and it can increase risks of falls. Some even wear tight clothes that influence blood circulation, making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health?

Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money?

So, let's rethink what's really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being? Clothes or hairstyles don't tell us anything about a person's character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let's eat properly and exercise regularly. Remember, your worth is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.

Confucianism has been followed by Chinese people for more than two thousand years.

To help people understand how to behave toward others, Confucianism teaches the Five Constants. These are ren,yi, li,zhi and xin.They are general virtues around the world. The most important two are ren and li.

Ren is the feeling of care and love we should have for others. Confucius explained ren could best be understood as loving others. He is famous for teaching people "What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others." It is quite similar to what is known in the West as the Golden Rule(treat others as you wish to be treated).

While the meaning of ren is easy to understand, li is a little harder to express. It can be thought of as duty or even respect. Generally, li is the way we should connect with people in our everyday life. In Confucian writings, discussions about li include the proper way to drink tea and how to remember ancestors. While ren is mostly about our opinions and feelings, li is about how we express our opinions and feelings toward others and toward the world around us.

Perhaps the most well-known Confucian virtue is xiao.This is the duty children have to their parents. Xiao means loving, respecting, obeying and taking care of one's parents in their old age. In Confucianism, xiao is important for a harmonious society: Without it, the whole world would fall into a mess.

"I wish I had straight hair. ""I'd like to be taller. " At times, we all want to look a bit more like someone else. However, the truth is that no two people in the world are exactly the same— and that's a good thing. Accepting and feeling good about our bodies is really important because you are more than how you look. 

Body confidence is when we accept and behave kindly toward our body. That includes our size and shape, skin color, appearance and any physical disability. 

If you feel positively about your body, you are more likely to take care of it. Research has even shown that you are more likely to take part in activities and perform well in school. However, feeling worried about your body could make you do worse at school and even feel down. If you're spending a lot of time trying to achieve the "perfect" appearance, you will have less time to spend with friends and to make important memories. 

To develop a positive body image, try not to talk bad about your own body and other people's bodies. Try not to pay much attention to appearance. Instead, think about what your body does for you. Treat your body well by eating different kinds of foods, exercising to feel good and get plenty of sleep. 

More Body Confidence

It was Election(选举) Day at Sunshine Middle School. Erica was running for 1 of the students' union. "If you elect me president, " she shouted, "there will be no more 2 ! And no more school uniforms!" All the students cheered loudly. Erica was 3 , because she had spent a lot of time finding out what the students disliked. 

Now it was Michael's turn. Unlike Erica, he began 4 , "I cannot change everything students don't like about the school, but I5 to work hard for you. "

"Boring!" Erica thought. She knew she was going to get the 6 . When Michael finished, the students clapped. After the students voted, all the votes were counted. At the end of the day, the head teacher 7 , "The new president is Michael!"

Erica was really surprised. She could not understand 8 the students voted for him instead of her. She had made promises about all the 9 things. Her best friend, Jenny, came running up to her. "Erica, I'm so sorry, " she said.

A lot of animals travel from one place to another. We call this migration. 

In Africa, large animals, like elephants and zebras, migrate to find food and water. They usually follow the same ways every year. 

A lot of birds migrate to find food and better weather, too. They are usually birds that eat insects. They spend the summer in northern Europe, because there are lots of insects there. In the winter there aren't any insects, so the birds fly south to southern Europe and Africa. Some insects migrate, too. In North America, millions of monarch butterflies fly south to spend the winter in Mexico, California and Florida, where it's warmer. They travel 50——65 km each day and they travel about 1, 125 km. 

Some fish migrate to breed. Salmon(鲑鱼) can swim over 20, 000 km in their life. They were born in rivers in Ireland, Scotland and other places in northern Europe. The young fish swim down the river to the sea and into the Atlantic Ocean. They live in the ocean until they are adults. Then they return to the river where they were born. They lay their eggs in the river and then they usually die. Salmon do this, because their eggs are safer in the river. Other fish can't eat them. 

Arctic terns(北极燕鸥) travel the furthest when they migrate. They spend the summer in the Arctic, but when winter comes they fly to the Antarctic, because it's summer there. The next year they fly back to the Arctic again. In one year these small birds travel 36, 000 km from one end of the earth to the other and back again. Nobody knows how they do it.
