The World's Tallest Bridge
 

China has a new "star" in bridge building — the Huajiang Canyon Bridge（花江峡谷大桥）. It opened in Guizhou on September 28, 2025, and it's now the world's tallest bridge. Its road surface is 625 meters above the river, about twice as high as the Eiffel Tower (埃菲尔铁塔).

The bridge is 2,890 meters long. Its longest hanging part is 1,420 meters, the longest of its kind in mountains. It shortens travel time between the canyon's two sides from 2 hours to just 2 minutes.

Building it was hard. Strong winds and complex land made it a big challenge. But engineers used smart technologies, like "smart cables(缆绳)" to watch the bridge's health. These ideas helped it get 21 special invention rights.

Now, the bridge is not just for traffic. It has places for watching scenery, exciting sports places and tourist services. It will bring many visitors and help the local development grow. This bridge shows China's great ability in building big projects.

My Hobbies

I have many hobbies,

Different people have different hobbies around the world. Some people like collecting things, and others like reading.

Bruce's hobby is collecting stamps. He collects some of them from different countries. One of his favourite stamps is from China. It's about the Great Wall. He thinks he can learn a lot about history and culture from stamps.

Peter is fond of making scrapbooks（剪贴簿）. He collects many pictures in his scrapbooks. Pictures of animals and plants are his favourite. He enjoys doing this in his free time. Sometimes he loves to visit the nature parks to watch animals and plants. He thinks it's relaxing to get close to the nature.

Reading is Carrie's favourite. She can get lots of fun from reading. In fact, she is a bookworm（书迷）. And she also likes to collect books. In her study, she has more than one hundred books. Reading can also help with her schoolwork, especially English. Through reading, she learns not only what correct English sentences are like but also history and culture about different countries, which can help improve her English writing.

Andrew Lovgren is a high school student in New York. He has a health(66) problem, and it makes moving difficult for him. When Andrew was young, he spent a long time learning how to walk. Every day, he practised taking steps and now he can walk by  with canes（手杖）.

A group of six women decided to climb Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. They wanted to show their physical condition to people. The women had albinism（白化病）. One of the main signs of albinism is lighter-than-usual skin（皮）colour. Other signs include white hair and pink eyes.

All the climbers said they had been looked down upon because of their albinism. In some countries, if women give birth to babies with albinism, they will be driven out by their family. Sometimes parents don't accept children with albinism. People abominate children and adults with albinism, Nodumo Ncomanzi, one of the climbers, said, " Students laughed at me at school. " Even with these problems, Ncomanzi graduated from Yale University in the US and now works on education.

Mount Kilimanjaro is 5,895 metres high and it is difficult for everyone to climb it. Four of the climbers reached a camp at 4,700 metres, and they decided to stop on medical advice. The other two, Ncomanzi and Waithera, continued to climb. But Waithera had to stop 20 metres from the top because of so re knees. So in the end, Nomanzi was the only one to reach the top of Mount Kilimanjaro on 7 October,2018. The team hoped that their climb could help change the world's wrong opinion on people with albinism.

At just 17 years old, Chinese breakdancer (霹雳舞者) Guo Pu made history. She went to the 2025 World Breaking Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, with a big1 On December 13, she 2 China's first-ever world championship gold (世界锦标赛金牌) in women's breaking. Her dream came true on that day!
