Why are dogs our best friends? They are (friend), loving and loyal(忠诚的), so they fit well with most families. Dogs can help us in many different (way) and bring happiness to our daily life.

First, you have to (walk) the dog every day. This is  good way to take exercise.You can also run or ride bikes with it outdoors. It makes our outdoor time  (real) fun.

Last winter holiday, my family and I decided to go on a one-day trip to a beautiful lake. We wanted to go boating and take photos there. We were sure to have a perfect day.

We were excited on the way, so we didn't find we took the wrong bus. Finally, we arrived at a small and quiet village instead of the lake. At first, we felt a little unhappy. We thought our trip was ruined(毁了).

However, as we walked along the small roads with green trees and saw many nice houses, we found the village was very lovely. The fresh air around us made us feel great. Birds sang sweetly, and flowers came out everywhere. Everything here looked nice and quiet. Luckily, a welcoming farmer asked us to have a rest in his house. He gave us fresh fruit and hot water. We played with his little cat and took many funny photos.

We didn't go boating there, but we enjoyed talking with the kind farmer and learning about village life. When we got home, we were tired but happy.

Trips don't have to be perfect and we can get surprising fun from them.

As you all know, health is very important for everyone. If you want to live happily, you need to keep healthy.

A good eating habit is very helpful. You should eat more fruit and vegetables, because they have lots of good things and keep you healthy.

Exercise is very important in our daily life. It can help you relax. You can run, swim, play ball games or take a walk. You should exercise every day. It is bad for your body.

 There is a famous saying: Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy. Going to bed and getting up early gives you enough energy for the whole day.

Keep clean in daily life. Take a shower often. Remember to wash hands before meals.Also, keep your room clean and tidy. All of these keep you in good health.

Learn to relax in your free time. It can make you happy. You can have a hobby or enjoy the beauty of nature outdoors.  They are all good for your health.

Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park is a wonderful place to explore, learn and have fun. To make sure everyone has a safe and happy visit, here are some important rules to follow:

★Do not disturb(打扰) the animals. Never feed or catch any animals.However, the study center has interesting learning activities for kids. Kids can learn a lot about animals and plants safely and happily there. 

★Do not throw rocks or anything else into the exhibit areas. These things may hurt the animals or make them ill.

★Don ot litter. You should keep the park clean and tidy.

★No pets allowed(被允许). You can't bring your pets to the park.

★No balloons. Balloons are not allowed because they might fly into exhibit areas and hurt the animals if they eat them.

★No loud(大声的) music. Playing loud music is not allowed because it is bad for the animals and disturbs other visitors.

If everyone follows the rules, we can protect(保护) animals and enjoy our time. Have a nice visit!

Once upon a time, a king had no children and wanted to choose an heir (继承人). He asked thousands of children around the country to the palace(王宫) and gave each one a seed (种子). He told them to come back in a year with plants they grew from the seeds, so he could pick his heir.

A boy called Ling put his seed in a pot and watered it every day. As time went by, nothing grew in the pot. There were no leaves at all.

One year later, all the children came back. Most of them held beautiful flowers or young trees,while Ling carried an empty pot. He decided to tell the king the truth.

The king checked every pot one by one. When he came to Ling, the boy lowered his head. He was afraid to speak at first, but then he explained, "I watered the seed every day, but it never came out." The other children laughed at him.

Finally, the king said, "I cooked all these seeds over fire, so none of them could grow. Most of you did not tell the truth. Only this boy is honest(诚实). He is to be my heir."

Middle school life is busy and sometimes stressful, so it's important to learn to deal with stress wisely. Here is a quiet and peaceful way to reduce stress—meditation (冥想). You can try the following steps. 

Step 1: Choose a quiet and comfortable place.Make sure the light is soft. If you like, play relaxing music or nature sounds. 

Step 2:  Relax your body and let stress go. Feel your chest (胸口) and stomach rise and fall as you breathe in and out. Each time you breathe out, allow your body to relax even more. 

Step 3: Calm your mind. Although your body relaxes, upset thoughts may still appear in your mind.  Instead, pay little attention to them and let them go away slowly. 

Meditation can both relax your body and calm your mind.
