Sugar painting is a traditional Chinese form of art. It  from the Ming Dynasty and became popular in the Qing Dynasty. As the name shows, it is a painting made of sugar. And the most amazing thing is that traditional sugar painters just use  hands and a spoon instead of tools like pencils or brushes. They move the spoon up and  , left and right. It is so interesting that people, especially children love to watch the painters at work.

Sugar painting is  from normal painting, because painters use syrup (糖浆) as the material.  , they need to make the sugar hot to make the syrup. Then, they have to control the temperature of the syrup and move the spoon  because the syrup cools fast. Third, they also need to have a good imagination to create different  , such as sugar lions, sugar tigers and sugar dragons. They have  the people's heart because they are symbols of good luck in Chinese culture.

Sugar painting shows  art and life can be mixed together. It carries the Chinese people's best  towards life. Now, it has already been listed as National Non-Material Culture Heritage (国家非物质文化遗产). We hope that this traditional art will continue to be remembered and passed on.

In the Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang, who was a wise advisor, received a hard task from Zhou Yu -- making 100,000 arrows (箭) in ten days. Zhuge Liang smiled confidently and agreed.

Instead of making arrows, he used his creativity. One foggy (有雾的) morning, he sent 20 boats covered with straw (稻草) men toward the enemy camp. Because of the thick fog, Cao Cao's soldiers thought the straw men were real soldiers. So they started shooting arrows wildly. Finally, their arrows stuck into the straw.

By sunrise, the boats were filled with arrows. When Zhou Yu asked how he did it, Zhuge Liang explained that he "borrowed" arrows from the enemy. Zhou Yu understood the trick (计谋) and thought, "Zhuge Liang is much smarter than me!"

Zhuge Liang's plan, using fog and straw, saved time and lives. The arrows which were collected without fighting became famous in history. By thinking differently, Zhuge Liang proved that sometimes the best ways are unexpected.

This story teaches us an important lesson. At school, we often face difficult tasks. When solving math problems, some students just use the same old methods. But if we think creatively, for example, by dividing big problems into small steps, we can find better solutions (解决办法). Similarly, in group projects, being creative helps. Instead of a normal presentation, you could use videos or drawings to show your ideas.

Just like Zhuge Liang, we should never be afraid to think differently. The next time you're in trouble, remember: creativity can turn impossible tasks into amazing achievements!

①Are you troubled by housework, such as cleaning tables or tidying your room? A new robot is here to help! Recently, the robot Mobile Aloha made by scientists at Stanford University in the US became popular online. In the videos posted, we can see the robot preparing dishes on its own, from cutting vegetables to cracking (打破) eggs. It's also good at watering plants, caring cats, cleaning the floor and washing clothes. It even knows to shake the pillow (枕头) after putting it into a pillowcase (枕套).

②Sounds good? Well, another video posted by researchers may disappoint some people. Mobile Aloha isn't good at doing housework on its own. Instead, it learns from human actions before doing each kind of housework. When the situation changes, it can't work well without a human "teaching" it. So it may break dishes, bump into (撞上) things and even burn a pot.

③Actually, the robot only has a 80% success rate (率) in the cases of moving chairs, said the team after they did more research on it. For cooking dishes, it's even 40%. In short, it's far from perfect.

One day, Tom's class held a meeting to talk about how to help disabled children. After a discussion, they decided to raise money for the children by selling postcards.

Tom wanted to take part in this activity, but he was too shy to talk to strangers, so he kept quiet in his seat. His teacher noticed this and asked whether he would like to have a try. Tom was hesitant, but he finally nodded.

On the selling day, Tom and his partner Angela came to the busy street. Angela was an outgoing girl. "Excuse me, could you please buy ...?" Angela asked the person she first met politely. The man smiled and put a five-dollar coin into Angela's collection bag. Then she said thanks and handed him a postcard. "Don't be afraid, Tom. Do it as I did and you will make it," said Angela.

Wang Zhenyi was a great woman scientist, mathematician and poet during the Qing Dynasty. Wang was born in  rich family in Anhui Province in 1768. At that time, girls couldn't get good education, but her father encouraged her (study). When she was young, she learned many different (subject), such as maths, astronomy (天文学) and so on. At the age of 18, she began studying them by (she). In the following years, she wrote several books to explain difficult scientific ideas  simple ways. During that period, all people (deep) believed that lunar eclipses (月食) were caused by gods. To explain the truth, Wang made a model with a lamp, a table and a mirror. She (show) that that eclipses are natural events with the model in the end.  important the discovery was! Besides, her poems showed great kindness to the poor.

A woodpecker taps (轻叩) its head against wood  (几乎) 12,000 times a day. Doing something like that all day long must hurt! Think of how you would feel if you hit your head against something  (坚硬的) only once.

However, in nature, everything  (发生) for a reason. Woodpeckers have long, sharp beaks which they use to make holes in trees to find tasty  (昆虫) inside. Their special toes allow them to hold on tightly (紧紧地) as they bang their head against trees. They also have  (强壮的) tail feathers, which they use to keep their balance while they fly.

But how do woodpeckers  (避免) brain injuries? One of the most interesting things about woodpeckers is their tongue. It is very long — sometimes  (两倍) as long as the bird itself. The woodpecker can wrap (包) its long tongue around its brain inside its head.  (每) time the bird hits a tree with its head, its tongue  (保护) its brain from injury. That's why a woodpecker can tap all day and not get a  (头痛).
