F. Every simple rule above can help us stay away from electric dangers.
Electricity is very useful in our daily lives, but it can also be dangerous if we use it carelessly. Here are some top electrical safety tips to follow.
First, form good habits. Turn off video games and other electronics when we' re not using them or before we go to sleep. Energy can be saved in this way and it's good for our planet.
Second, check our equipment often. Old or broken parts are easy to cause trouble at home. Ask an adult to look at plugs, sockets (插座), and wires(电线) for broken parts regularly.
Third, keep liquids away from electronics. Don't put water, drinks or other liquids on or near electrical equipment. For example, don't go straight from the pool into the house without getting dried first. A wet body can easily cause an electric shock.
Keep these tips in mind all the time and protect ourselves from electric accidents.

17、 阅读下面短文,在空白处填入一个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。(共10小题,每小题1分)

Once there lived a frog in an old, narrow well. He had been there since he was born and never left. Every day, he swam in the shallow (浅的) water, sat on the wet stones, looked up at the round piece of sky above him. He thought,"My home is perfect. I have all the (thing)I need right here,"
The frog felt very proud. He believed his well was the (large) and finest place in the whole world.
One afternoon, a turtle (龟) who had travelled far from the sea stopped by well. "Look at my wonderful home! I can jump and swim anytime. The sky watches over me all day. Isn't this the happiest and safest place?" the frog said (happy).
The turtle then tried to explain the outside world. "The sea is endless. You cannot see where it (finish). It is deeper than any well, and even when storms come, the sea remains vast and unchanged. There(be) mountains, forests, and countless(无数的) other animals living there."
But the frog, sitting comfortably at the bottom of his dark well, could not picture any of that. He simply(shake) his head, not believing a word.
This story teaches us that if we stay only in our small space and never try to learn or see more, our mind stays small like the(frog). To truly understand the world, we must be willing to explore and listen others. Don't be the frog who thinks his little well is everything.

18、 下面的材料A~F分别介绍了六个对未来的设想。请根据五种描述选择最合适的设想,并将其标号填入题前括号内。
A. The Age of Flying Cars
The sky above cities is filled with quiet flying cars. People no longer worry about traffic jams on the ground.Cars are controlled by computers and follow air traffic rules, which makes fewer accidents.
B. Cities Under the Sea
People build clear round cities deep in the ocean. Living inside, they can see fish swimming past their windows every day. The cities get all their power from ocean movement and heat from the sea floor.
C. Space Travel for Everyone
People can go to space stations for weekends, just like taking a plane. Playing games where there is no weight, and looking at the whole Earth through round windows, have become fun for young people.
D. Smart Clothes for Health
People wear smart clothes that fit closely. The clothes can check your heart, body heat, and how tired you are anytime. If something is not right, they will tell you to rest or send a message to a doctor by themselves.
E. Smart Homes
Everything in the house can understand human speech. In the morning, curtains (窗帘) open by themselves, the kitchen makes breakfast, and the air conditioner changes to keep you comfortable. Rubbish is also sorted and taken care of by itself.
F. Online Schools That Feel Real
Students no longer need to carry schoolbags to school. They put on light sets over their ears and eyes to enter the same online classroom. There, they can talk face to face with teachers and classmates, and use their hands to control 3D learning models.
Many vehicles fly in the city sky, following paths controlled by computers.
In this idea, humans live under the sea and watch ocean life through clear windows.
Machines at home understand people's speech and can do daily housework by themselves.
Clothes can check a person's health at any time and send messages to a doctor when needed.
Students don't attend school in person but can have lessons together in an online space that feels real.

F. And since the TV programme came out, Western children have become interested in reading this.
Almost each Chinese child has heard of or read Journey to the West— one of the most famous traditionalChinese classics. All of them like the main character— the Monkey King or Sun Wukong. InNovember 1979, pupils in England were able to watch a new programme called Monkey. Most of them heard of this story for the first time.
In fact, he sometimes doesn't even look like a monkey! This is because he can make seventy-two changes to his shape and size, turning himself into different animals and objects. When he fights against bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic stick. Sometimes he can make the stick small enough to keep it in his ear.
So far, children in China have been attracted by this wonderful classic. The reason is that the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak.

By Sunday (25th January 2026), a major winter storm had moved to the US East Coast, where it brought heavy snow through the day and night, and continued into Monday. The storm then went on into Eastern Canada, where it broke a few weather records. For example, Toronto' s airport reported its highest snowfall ever recorded in a single day, while the city centre received even more snow——22 inches (56 centimetres).

The National Weather Service warned that the storm's effects could last a few days. In one village in New York state, the temperature fell to a record low of-49°F(-45℃).
