In her grandparents'house, Meg found a collection of old family calendars ( 记事本), with each page filled out carefully. On June 6th, 1892:"Helped Mr Thompson repair his house. "On November 14th, 1907:"Volunteered my time at an old people's home. "

"That is the tradition of our family, "her grandmother explained. "Every day, for generations, we complete one kind act and write it down, no matter how small it is. "

Meg was interested. "Why?"she asked. 

Her grandmother smiled and said, "We believe that through continuous kind actions, we can make our lives meaningful. Every day, we bring a little light into the world by helping others. And when we write it down, we remind ourselves that even on a dark day, we were still a light for someone. "

With respect, Meg decided to continue the tradition. Every night, she recorded her act for the day. As years went by, Meg's kind acts grew, from helping a stranger on the road to organizing community clean-ups. 

One day, as she sat in a restaurant, a young woman came to her. 

"Excuse me. Are you Meg?"she asked. Meg nodded, feeling confused. 

The woman went on, "Years ago, you taught me for free when my family couldn't afford lessons. Because of you, I went to college. Today I run an organization providing help for poor students. "Meg realized her actions were creating ripples in ways she had never thought of. 

When Meg was old, she often sat with her grandchildren, turning the filled pages. One day, her granddaughter, Sophie, looked up from the calendar. "I want to continue this, Grandma. "Meg handed the calendar over. She knew the tradition would live on. 

Years after Meg died, the town built a  statue(雕像)to remember her, with the words on its base:in memory of Meg and the generations before her, who believed in the power of everyday kindness. 

    It was cight o'clock on a cold spring night.After a day's work,I was so
