Today Our class visited the Museum of National History.We went to see the new dinosaur（恐龙）show.At first I wasn't1 in seeing dinosaur skeleton（骨骼）.Why would anyone want to learn about something that's not around any more?

Putting things off is a common trouble for many middle school students. With piles of schoolwork and after-school activities, it's easy to feel anxious and push things to later.  Soon, you may fall behind in classes, and your grades might drop. According to the experts, there are some effective ways to fight it.

Beejhy Barhany grew up in an Ethiopian-Jewish family in Israel. She has loved cooking since she was very young. Now, she runs Tsion Cafe in New York and still follows many cooking traditions. One of these is washing raw meat before cooking. For Barhany, putting raw chicken in salt and lemon water is both useful and part of her culture.

In fact, a 2015 study showed that nearly 70% of Americans wash their chicken before cooking. However, since the 1990s, experts from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have advised people not to do this. They state that rather than reducing the risk of foodborne illness, washing raw meat makes it more likely to spread bacteria (细菌) around the kitchen, which may make people sick.

"Washing meat before cooking isn't really helpful," says Betty Feng, a food science professor at Purdue University. "The only thing it does is splashing (飞溅) water and can spread bacteria to other places in your kitchen—like your sink and your clothes." Moreover, Feng strongly disagrees with using saltwater, vinegar, or lemon juice, because they are not strong enough to kill bacteria. "If the acidity (酸度) is high enough to kill bacteria, you wouldn't be able to touch it with your hands," she explains.

A recent study also found that placing meat in a bowl of water reduced the splashing but not the spread of bacteria. "I would treat the sink just like the outside of the chicken—it could also be dirty and unsafe," says Benjamin Chapman, an associate professor in North Carolina State University. "The way that we make meat safe is through cooking, not through washing away bacteria."

After finishing their shopping, many families choose to relax at a nearby cafe. They enjoy a drink and talk about what they've bought. The market is more than just a place to buy things; it serves as a social center where people connect, and a tradition that brings families together over the shared joy of fresh, local goods.

Ryan and Ahmed sat on their bicycles at the start of the cyclocross course. Ahmed had been competing in cyclocross for three years, but this was Ryan's first race. He wished he could remember everything Ahmed had taught him.

Ryan reviewed the last six months in his mind. From the moment Ahmed had first asked whether he would like to try the sport, Ryan had been excited. Ahmed explained the importance of practising and set up a plan for them two to practise together.

Practising was hard. Ryan soon got bored with working on the same skills over and over. He was ready to race! Ryan ended up skipping many of the practices. When Ryan did go to practices, he spent more time doing tricks with his bike than listening to Ahmed's tips.

The big race day finally arrived.

"Now the real fun begins," Ryan said excitedly as he sat at the starting line.

"You need to get serious," Ahmed warned. "Cyclocross can be dangerous."

Bang! The starting gun went off. The boys rushed off the starting line. Ryan saw the first obstacle ahead. It was a series of small hurdles (障碍).

"Here I go!" Ryan shouted when he reached the hurdles. He jumped off his bike and landed hard on his foot. Next, he had to get his bike onto his shoulder. Ryan could not remember what Ahmed said about shouldering the bike. He tried to pick it up by the wheels but it dropped. Finally, he got his bike off the ground. As he ran, the bike's weight pressed down on his shoulder, and he lost his balance, unable to stay on his feet. Before he knew it, he was lying face-down in the mud.

"Are you okay?" Ryan heard his friend ask. Ahmed reached down to help Ryan. Ryan was thankful that Ahmed cared more about him than about the race. He caught Ahmed's hand and stood.

"Ouch!" Ryan cried. It hurt to put weight on his ankle. "You were right, Ahmed. Cyclocross is about more than strength and speed. Can we spend a few more months training together? I want to finish my next cyclocross race!"

When I was fifteen, I went to a summer camp. There were lots of attractive 1 , but there was one thing I was really scared about: climbing the wall.
