Are you more of a "P" person or a "J" person? You may want to know what I'm talking about. These letters come from the Myers- Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI) test. The test gives you a four-letter result. The last letter is either "P" for "Perceiving" or "J" for "Judging". It divides people into two groups based on how they organize their lives. 

Many people see me as a" Judging" type. I like plans and schedules. For example, if I need to write ten articles in a week, I will plan my everyday tasks to meet the deadline(最后期限)without rushing. I even time my walk from the office to the subway and note when trains usually arrive. On most days, a train arrives just as I reach the platform, and this makes me very happy. I like people who also prefer structure, but I have met many" Perceiving" types. Years ago, I went to climb Mount Huashan in Shaanxi with my friends. As a "Judging" person, I planned carefully. I packed my backpack with water, bread and raincoats. On the day of the hike, two of my "P" friends set off empty-handed. Halfway through, they got thirsty and hungry and had to rely on me for food and water. "Thanks, mate. You' re a lifesaver, " one said while eating my bread. 

Working and travelling with different personality types can be challenging. But even with the problems, "P" people have their good points. They are often more creative and flexible(灵活的). When things don't go as planned, I often get worried, but they stay cool. Imagine a world where everyone was either "Judging" or" Perceiving". Differences add interest to life. The mix of different personalities makes it more exciting. 

Whether yellow, red or white, the onion is a vegetable that you may not know well. The list of its uses in cooking is endless. People have used onions to make their food more delicious for thousands of years. Besides onions' great taste, they are also very good for you. They have special chemicals(化学物质) that can improve your ability to fight off illness and you will keep healthy. 

Although onions are great, it is hard to cut an onion without tears. When you cut an onion, irritating(刺激性的) chemicals inside the onion will get into the air. They touch your eyes and cause pain. Your eyes make tears to wash away the chemicals and protect your eyes. 

Luckily, cooks and scientists find some ways to keep you from crying when you cut onions. 

▲Cut the onion under running water. The water will wash away the chemicals before they reach your eyes. 

▲Use a fan to blow air over the onion as you cut it. The air will blow the chemicals away from your eyes. 

▲Put the onion in a fridge for an hour before cutting. This helps make the chemicals in the onion move slowly, so they may not ever reach your eyes. 

If you try out these good ideas and still cry while cutting onions, don't worry. Scientists think if you cut more onions, your body will become more resilient to the onion's chemicals. So the tears will not last long. If you think about how healthy onions are, you might even call those tears"happy tears". 

Age is just a number. Some people do great things that have nothing to do with their age. 

Gloria Struck is in her 90s, but she still rides her motorcycle and wants to go on a cross-country trip. When she was born, her father had a motorcycle shop. She learned to ride at the age of 16. Over the years, she has taken part in many motorcycle races in the US and countries in Europe. 

Julia Hawkins likes biking for most of her life. But she took up running a few years ago and set her first world record in 2017. She set a new world record in 2021 by running 100metres in just over 62 seconds for her age group. Remember that Ms Hawkins was 105 years old at that time. 

Yuichiro Miura, a Japanese, was the oldest person to reach the top of Mount Qomolangma at the age of 80. To finish his trip, he had to deal with some serious health problems. But none of the problems seemed to make him change his mind. He celebrated his 90th birthday in October, 2022.

Imagine a group of people are talking about something happily. But there is one man who cannot follow them, because he has a hearing problem. How can we help such a person?

Now a new and exciting invention called AR glasses has come out. It allows deaf people to hear conversations in real time. Deaf people are also able to join in everyday conversations by wearing AR glasses.

The AR glasses were developed by Dan Scarfe after he spent Christmas dinner with his family. His 97-year-old grandfather had a hearing problem. Scarfe saw him sitting alone in silence while the rest of the family were talking excitedly. And the old man always watched TV shows with subtitles (字幕). That situation was kept in Scarfe's mind. Suddenly he realized that maybe the AR glasses could help.

So Scarfe started to work with Nreal, a company good at making AR glasses. Six months later, a new pair of AR glasses came out. The glasses have a microphone that receives the audio (音频) from the environment and sends it to a connected smartphone. The phone then creates subtitles from that audio and these subtitles then appear on the screen of the user's glasses.

The company first tested the glasses in the UK. There are over 13 million adults with hearing loss. When the product works, it will change the lives of 430 million people.

This is a great change for the deaf. Mark Atkinson, a user of the AR glasses, says, "As a deaf person myself, I am amazed by this new technology. Real-time subtitles made me become part of the conversation. That has never happened before."

A disabled man who makes clay pieces on the streets of Chengdu has become popular across the country.

The man, called Mi, lost his hands years ago: he was hurt in an accident and had to cut his hands off. Since then, he has had to live with only his arms. However, he didn't give in to difficulties. He learned to eat and get dressed by himself after resting for a year. Since he got married, he has had to take care of three children with his wife. The duty of supporting the family fell on them. He thought he must find a new way to make a living by himself.

One day, Mi saw an artist making clay pieces on the street. He was interested and decided to learn it. The artist didn't accept his request at first. But Mi kept on asking many times. The artist was touched by his request and finally decided to teach him.

It was a big challenge for Mi to learn the skills. At the beginning, he could only make simple clay pieces like flowers for the whole afternoon. And his arms were sore after lots of practice. However, he never thought about giving up. Finally, he learned to make clay pieces in a way that was suitable for himself. He changed the used material to make figures, and he always made cartoon figures which were cuter and easier to make.

Now, after a lot of practice, the completion of one clay figure takes him just seven minutes, and he makes about thirty clay pieces a day. As news of his skill spread, a crowd would often remain to watch him whenever he sat down to work. Today, Mi not only makes a living by selling his clay products as he used to wish, but also takes pride in what he does. Mi is full of hope for a better future, as he knows his hard work will pay off.

When you want to buy a pair of running shoes, will you choose Nike or Li-Ning? It's a choice between foreign and local brands.

In the past, Chinese buyers used to prefer (更喜欢) foreign brands, thinking that products made by American or European companies are of higher quality than Chinese ones. Now more people turn to local brands. A recent survey explained the reasons behind it. Compared with the foreign brands, the local ones are at lower prices and of good quality.

Some Chinese brands have risen in recent years. A study showed that 71% of foreign buyers said Chinese brands are important to them. Chinese brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, DJI, Feiyue and Shein have all become more popular abroad. For example, Huawei is the world's second biggest mobile phone company, Times reported. Shein, a "fast fashion" brand, saw its sales reach more than 10 billion dollars last year, a 100 percent increase over the previous (以前的) year, according to Global Times. "Thanks to a bigger market, improved supply chains (供应链) and production chains, this is the best time for the development of local brands," Yan Qing, a partner with Beijing-based Hejun Consulting, told Global Times.

They need to get used to with the relationship with nature while creating art. Respecting (尊重) nature doesn't stop artists from making something beautiful. The event also shows it is a basic for local governments to control and check such art projects. Checking before the project starts is than checking later. Public focus on this shows China's progress. Protecting the environment is now a common idea, pushing everyone to care more about nature. We cannot create art in the of respect for our planet.
