After 22 years, Chinese soccer came back to the Asian Cup Final. This time, it was the young U23 team, not the national team. Their bigmade many people proud in China and other countries.

Ladybug (瓢虫) Mom

A mother ladybug lays sticky eggs that look like small jellybeans (软糖豆). She hides them under leaves to keep them safe from other animals. She also makes sure very small insects are nearby. In this way, when the baby ladybugs come out of the eggs, they can have enough food to eat at once.

Elephant Mom

A mother elephant uses her long nose to lead her baby to walk ahead slowly. If the little one falls down, she will help it stand up. When taking a bath, she sprays (喷洒) water over her baby with her long nose. Best of all, she often gives her baby elephant loving pats (轻拍) with her long nose.

Emperor Penguin (帝企鹅) Mom

A mother emperor penguin leaves her egg with the father penguin. Then she travels up to 50 miles to the sea to look for food and eats lots of fish. When she comes back, she feeds the newly-born chick (雏鸟). She takes food from her stomach to the chick's mouth.

Zhang Xue has become the pride of the nation with his strong will and deep love for motor racing.

He was born in a common family. When he was young, he began to learn about motorcycles (摩托车) by mending them. He often stayed up late to know every part of a motorcycle. Although he met many difficulties, he never gave up his dream of making great Chinese racing motorcycles.

He kept working hard and learning for years. His skills got better and better. He could not only mend motorcycles well, but also make new motorcycle engines (引擎). He hoped China could have top racing motorcycles of its own, and not just use other countries' ones.

Later, Zhang Xue built his own motorcycle racing team. He trained hard and changed his plans again and again. He also tested his motorcycles on different roads. His efforts finally paid off. He achieved great success in many big races in China and other countries. People felt surprised at how good Chinese motorcycles were.

Zhang Xue's story encourages many young people. It tells us that if you have a strong wish and keep working hard, you can make your dream come true. He also shows the world the rapid (快速的) development of Chinese manufacturing (制造业) and the spirit of never giving up.

Mr. Ji is a fruit seller from Yangxian, Shaanxi. During the May Day holiday, he drove to Xianfeng, Enshi, Hubei with thousands of apples for sale. He suddenly fell ill and was sent to the hospital. His wife Ms. Liang came to look after him in the hospital. But she couldn't drive, so the truck full of apples had to be left near the hospital. The family depended on selling apples for a living.

The hospital asked all its staff (全体职工) to buy the apples. They set up a small stall (摊位) at the hospital gate. Many people, including hospital workers, volunteers (志愿者) and local people, came to buy apples. In just 19 hours, all the apples were sold out. Mr. Ji and Ms. Liang were deeply moved.

To thank the people of Enshi, Yangxian offered them free visits to its scenic spots (景区) for a whole year.

A CHOKING FIRST AID

Choking (噎住) on food can be dangerous sometimes. We can use the Heimlich maneuver (海姆立克急救法) to help them. It is easy to learn.

In Queshan, Henan, there is a special "firework". It is made from very hot liquid iron (液态铁). People use two sticks to throw the hot iron into the air. Then, it creates amazing sparks (火花) in the sky. People stand together to1 the amazing iron flowers. This wonderful show is called datiehua.

Datiehua has a2 of over 1,000 years. The word "hua (flower)" sounds like "fa (becoming rich)", so people believe they can have good luck and3 by saying it. In 2008, China listed datiehua as a national intangible cultural heritage (国家级非物质文化遗产) to4 this old tradition.

A woman keeps a bird and she really likes it. But one day the bird flies away. The woman is sad and goes out to look for it in the forest near her home. At last, she meets the bird.

The woman says happily, "Will you go home with me, my bird?" The bird is also happy to see the woman, but it says no.

"Take me to your home and let me see how you live." the woman says. The bird takes the woman to its new home. She finds it lives well with many other birds. So she decides to go back home alone. Before she leaves, the bird gives her a basket.

When she gets home, she tells her husband what happens. Her husband opens the basket and sees a lot of gold (金子). The man is very greedy (贪婪的) and he goes to the bird's home, too.

"Hello, my bird. I miss you very much." cries the man falsely (虚伪地). In fact, he is not friendly to the bird when it lives with him. The bird just says nothing. It takes out two baskets, a light one and a heavy one. The bird asks him to choose one and he can open it after he gets home.

Of course, he chooses the heavy one and takes it home. But when he opens the basket, he finds it is full of stones (石头)!

If you had a tail, what would you use it for?

Zhang Xue was born (出生) in Mayang, Hunan. His parents divorced (离婚) when he was 10. After that, Zhang and his younger sister lived with their grandmother.

At 16, Zhang finished middle school and then started to work in a motorcycle repair (修理) shop. From then on, he began riding motorcycles. "Riding is my only hobby. I can't think of anything more interesting," he said.

At 19, Zhang had a smart idea. He asked a TV news program to film him riding. He hoped a racing team would notice his skill. "I don't have money and I don't know anyone. I just want a chance (机会) to be seen so that I can join a good motorcycle team," he told the reporter.

In 2013, with only 20,000 yuan in his pocket, he went to Chongqing, the "Motorcycle Capital (摩托车之都)" of China. In his heart, he had an even bigger dream: to build the best motorcycles in the world!

In 2024, he started his own company — ZXMOTO. On March 28, 2026, a French rider rode Zhang's motorcycle and won first place in the first race of the World Superbike Championship (世界超级摩托车锦标赛).

When Zhang left school, he told his classmates his dream was to fix motorcycles. "Now my dream is to make ZXMOTO a top 10 motorcycle brand in the world in 10 years," he said.

Many people go to Australia for vacation. What is the weather like there? The weather changes a lot! Why? Because Australia is a large country. The weather in different parts of the country is different.

The north of Australia is warm or hot all year because it is closer to the equator (赤道). And summer is also a rainy season.

The weather around Sydney is warm in winter. The lowest temperature is about 10℃. Summer there is warmer and the temperature is about 26℃.

Anyway, Australia is a good place to visit. You can enjoy everything there from sunbathing at the seaside to knocking (敲) snow off your shoes after a day's skiing. If you want to go there for a visit, all you should think about is the weather there.

What caused Kingsley Lake to have this special shape? Some people think humans changed its structure. However, in fact, humans didn't do anything to the lake. People believe it formed as a sinkhole(落水洞). It also appears that the movement of rocks gave the lake its present shape.

According to the survey, the lake has an unchanging water level because of its drainage(排水) system. This system helps the floodwater easily run from the lake to the areas around.Also, the lake has many shallow(浅的) water areas, so it can be filled with water again.

Kingsley Lake is now a famous tourist place. Each year, it attracts about 120,000 tourists on average. It also provides home for a lot of endangered animals.
