Eyes always on us

Video cameras are everywhere: schools, hospitals and stores. But in recent years, they have made their way into our homes. Many parents set up cameras at home to watch their children's online classes and homework. Are cameras really helpful? What do students think about them?

A survey about "parents' expectations" was done among 500 middle school students in China. Here are the key results:

85% of parents expect their children to keep promises and be honest.

78% hope their children will not make them worried, especially about safety and health.

65% want their children to get good grades and make the family proud.

Only 40% of students said they fully understand their parents' expectations; 30% think their parents are too strict.

Most students agreed that "communication" is the best way to solve misunderstandings. For example, talking about daily life and sharing feelings can help parents and children know each other better.

Last term, when I was preparing for the midterm exams, I had a  (disagree) with my parents. It was all about how I used my phone.
