Hanfu has become popular again in recent years. A growing number of young people in China are starting to wear the (tradition) Han Chinese clothing. The style has even attracted some foreigners. One of them is Rian, a young man from Brazil. 

Rian lives in Xi'an. Two years ago, he came to the beautiful city and became English teacher there. After (see) many people wearing Hanfu in the streets, Rian developed a great interest in it and wanted to try it by (he), "My first taste of Hanfu was the Tang style. It's fun (wear) it, said the young man. "Today, it is still my favorite Hanfu style." Each time he puts a Tang-style Hanfu, he feels as if he hastravelled back to ancient times. 

Since then, Hanfu (help) Rian learn more about China. In the past, the only thing he knew about the country was that it had a long history and a rich culture.  now Hanfu has shown him more details about Chinese culture. 

He wants to share his feelings with friends both in China and abroad, so he begins to make short (video) of himself trying on Hanfu and posts them up on Western social media platforms. It has (quick) become a hot hit on the Internet. He spreads Chinese culture in his own way. 

Not long ago, I decided to read a lot of books to enrich my knowledge. So I went to the library and returned with several books. But after a few days, I felt I was not (耐心的) enough. It was impossible for me to calm down to read a whole book. I didn't know how to (处理) with this problem. Then suddenly one day, I had an idea: Why not make reading fun? 

From then on, I started reading books widely and (明智地). I read different kinds of books, like storybooks, (语法) books, novels and so on. And I also made a list of the books I read every month. And I also read books in different places. Sometimes I liked reading in the (书店). Sometimes, it was also (方便) for me to read online. After reading lots of books, I made myself understood by (表达) my ideas more clearly. Now I am more interested in reading. And books have (影响) me a lot and have become a part of my life. Books are great wealth for me. 

Books are like our friends. They are very (有帮助的) to us. We can learn a lot from the books we read. They can also give us a lot. 

So I (建议) that students start reading as soon as possible, or one day you will feel sorry for not reading so many books. 

Not everyonetalent, but Tom loves art and he can create really beautiful pictures. He lives in a town. Every day, he likes to draw something on the paper. However, he feels that he can't improve himself a lot. One day, a kind teacher gives him some advice: "Just feel with your heart and draw what you see." Tom suddenly understands what the teacher means. Now he draws well, and his friends his pictures. He finally knows the truth about art—to love art, just your heart in it. 

The simplest way to say it is this: I believe in my mother. 

My mother was a servant ( 家 政 工 作 者 ). Through her work, she found that1 people spent a lot more time reading than watching TV. She called my brother and me to the old wooden table at home and said that my brother and I could 2 watch two TV programs during the week, even on weekends. We had to read two books each from the community library and 3 book reports on the rough notebook paper she bought. She would sit by the lamp, look at the paper, and mark (做标记) them with checks (√). Years later we realized her4 were a trick (诡计；骗局)—she'd just draw random checks. My mother was a person unable to read a word.

When summer comes, lychees become one of the most popular fruits. 

However, in ancient China, people in the north could hardly taste this delicious fruit. 

Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty loved his beautiful concubine ( 妃 子 ) Yang Yuhuan.  Lingnan, meaning "south of the mountains," like Guangdong and Hainan.  But lychees could go bad in just three days in such a hot summer. In a TV drama about this, officials found ways to keep the fruit fresh, even at the risk of their lives. 

While people are enjoying the TV drama, a big debate happened on social media. It's about how to read the Chinese character "骑" in the line.  But others said it should be read as "qi", which means "riding".  He said, "According to the modern dictionary, "骑" is now only read as ‘qi'. The reading ‘ji' is no longer used.

Why was it so difficult for ancient northern Chinese to taste delicious lychees? (No more than 15 words) 

①Emperor penguins, the largest of their kind, were listed as an endangered species in 2022, because the Antarctic sea ice that they live on is melting. Scientists now use technology to track (追踪) their movement and try to protect them. 

②Scientists track emperor penguin groups by looking at pictures taken by satellites above the Earth. Their poo stain (粪便痕迹) is left on the ice and can be seen in the pictures from space. When scientists first started using satellites, they only knew of 28 groups. Now, they have found 66. 

③Even using satellite, it is difficult to accurately count how many penguins live in different groups. Luckily, scientists can improve this situation by studying the area's weather. Measuring wind speed and temperature can help predict if the penguins stay together or scatteracross the ice-moving apart. If scientists know what the weather was like when the pictures were taken, they can better get how many penguins are left. 

④Scientists can also monitor penguins movements by giving them special electronic tags (电 子标签). Information on the tags can be read by a scanner that is carried by a robot called ECHO. It travels around penguin groups, scanning the tags of different penguins to collect data. ECHO uses a camera and a special sensor to build up a picture of the area. The robot also uses AI to recognize the penguins, and it can move very slowly so that it doesn't make the birds stressed. 

⑤Daniel Zitterbart, from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the US, told New Scientist magazine that he hopes the technology will lead to a "golden age of research" for emperor penguins.

Ha Long Bay has a history of millions of years. Over time, nature has made thousands of limestone karsts (石灰岩喀斯特) and small islands rise from the green waters. What's really amazing is that its special landscape has stayed almost the same for a long time. Going to Ha Long Bay feels like entering a fairy-tale world that's frozen in time. 

There are several cool spots to check out. Start with a boat tour around the bay. As you move across the water, you'll pass by tall karsts look like animals or mythical figures. Next, visit Sung Sot Cave, also called the "Surprise Cave". Inside, you'll be surprised by the wonderful stalactites (钟乳石) and stalagmites (石笋) that have formed over thousands of years. After that, don't miss stopping at one of the floating villages. Here, you can see the special way of life of the local fishermen, who have lived on the water for hundreds of years. 

Ha Long Bay isn't a too big and overly touristy place. It's a few hours drive from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. You can choose to stay on a traditional junk boat overnight. Lying on the deck under a sky full of stars and enjoying a freshly-cooked Vietnamese meal is an experience to remember. Every Saturday evening, there often a traditional music show on the boat. It's a perfect way to experience the local culture. We believe that a trip to Ha Long Bay will be a memory you'll keep in your mind forever!

It was a Friday evening. The living room lights were soft, but Mom sat at the desk with a frown ( 皱 眉 ), looking at her computer. She worked as a designer, and this week she'd been worried about a big project—her design for a children's park kept getting refused.

When I finished, I carried the album to Mom. "Mom, can you look at this for a minute?" I said softly. She sighed but turned off her computer. As she turned the pages, her frown slowly melted (融化). When she saw the note next to our cookie-making photo, she smiled. "I almost forgot how messy that day was," she said. 

She pulled me into a hug. "Thank you, sweetie. This is exactly what I needed." Later, Mom turned on her computer again—but this time, her eyes were bright. Sometimes, I thought, the best way to help someone isn't to fix their problem, but to remind them of all the happy things they already have.
