Class was almost over. Tom asked our math teacher, Mr Green, about the answer to a math problem. He thought it was 512. But Mr Green said it was 64.

Later that day, Tom asked friends, classmates, and other math teachers. Was it 64 or 512? One of the math teachers they asked was Mr Smith, our math teacher last year. He said it was 512. Then the fun began.

The next day, in Mr Green's class, Tom told him Mr Smith's answer. Mr Green didn't change his mind. As soon as the class was over, Tom went to Mr Smith's office.

At first, we were on our seats listening carefully, trying to follow their ideas. Later, Tom and some other students began to stand together around them. As time passed by, students showed their support for different teachers and became two teams. Everyone worked so hard, just for the answer to a single math problem. That's the power of maths!

When the school bell rang, the problem was still not solved. "Why not ask all the math teachers at school to join us and have a meeting for it?" Mr. Smith said.

A mushroom-picking craze (热潮) is causing serious problems at Cangshan Mountain in Dali. This summer, hundreds of tourists have been coming every day to search for wild mushrooms. The large number of visitors is damaging (毁坏) the beautiful forests and threatening (威胁) the local environment.

Reporters visiting in August found that many forest areas now show clear signs of damage from all the people walking through them. Some guides who lead mushroom tours don't actually have proper training (培训). They sometimes can't give right information about which mushrooms are safe to pick. Many tourists simply dig up mushrooms, take pictures with them, and then throw them away.

On a single day, more than 500 people came into the mountain through just one entrance (入口). There are many paths (小路) where people search for mushrooms across the whole mountain. This searching and digging is harming the natural home where mushrooms grow.

Environmental experts explain that mushrooms play an important role in nature. They help break down (分解) dead leaves and branches, which helps plants grow. They also provide (提供) food for insects and small animals. When too many people pick too many mushrooms, it can damage the whole ecosystem. It might take many years for the mushroom population to recover.

Local officials have found the problem and they are now taking action. They have started limiting (限制) the number of tourists and have sent more patrols (巡逻) to protect the area.

An old saying goes "Laughter is the best medicine." It's true that laughter is really good for our health. So, the next time you're feeling stressed, try to laugh a lot, develop a sense of humor and watch funny films.

The Comic Relief charity, an organization that helps people in need, uses laughter to raise money. Every two years in spring, many English people put on a red nose, make a fool of themselves and do "silly" things to make themselves and others laugh.      

Examples of silly things you can do are:

Invite friends round to your house to watch funny films. They have to pay to watch the films, those with the most comfortable chairs pay more, and for food and drinks.

Hold a talent show at school and ask your friends and teachers to sing, dance or tell jokes. Sell tickets for the show to the rest of the school.

Have a red nose party at your house. All your friends come dressed in red, including red nose, and you serve red food and drinks. If they don't wear red, they have to pay a fine.

Get the students in your school to make funny sculptures(雕塑) using all kinds of materials. Sell tickets to your Red Nose Day exhibition and part of the money goes to Comic Relief.

The organization has helped people for more than 20 years. And how much have they collected since the first Red Nose Day? Over￡600 million! The idea of Red Nose Day has travelled to other countries, too. In New Zealand, for example, people have made big red noses which they put on the front of cars and even buildings.

My favorite movie is Ne Zha: Birth of the Demon Child, a  cartoon with a warm and brave theme. Its  is Ne Zha, a naughty but kind-hearted boy born with demon power. Many people are afraid of him and look down on him, but he never gives up. He tries his best to fight against fate and protect his hometown and family. The movie uses  technology and  artificial intelligence with beautiful pictures and lovely music to make the story come to live. Every wonderful scene touches me deeply every time I watch it.

The biggest 55 of this movie is its wonderful  and meaningful message. It gives us a clear warning: we must mind the risk of judging others by their appearance. Everyone has kindness and advantages, so we shouldn't look down on others easily. We should understand and help each other  the risk of losing our happy life. This  makes me think a lot about how to treat people around me.

I love this movie for its exciting plot and the lessons it teaches me. It tells me to be brave and , and keep kindness and justice in mind. No matter how difficult life is, we should face it  and never give up dreams. It is not just an entertaining cartoon, but also a good teacher that helps me grow up.
