Do you know the Double Seventh Festival, also known as the Qixi Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival? Here is a beautiful story about it.

Long long ago, there was a young man (name) Niulang. One day, he met a beautiful girl Zhinv, the (seven) daughter of the Goddess. She had just run away from the boring heaven to look for fun on Earth, Zhinv soon (fall) in love with Niulang, and they got married without telling the Goddess. They lived a happy life and had a son and a daughter. (unlucky), the Goddess soon found out the fact and ordered Zhinv to return to heaven. With the help of his magic cow, Niulang flew to heaven with his (child) to look for his wife. The Goddess discovered this and was very angry. Taking out her hairpin, the Goddess created wide river in the sky to separate the two lovers. From then on, Niulang and Zhinv had to live apart on the two sides of the river. However, their true love touched all the magpies (喜鹊) in the world, once a year tens of thousands of magpies would fly up to heaven to make a bridge ("the bridge of magpies") them to meet each other. At last, the couple (allow) to get together each year on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month by the Goddess. That's how the Double Seventh Festival started.

Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in his life, he might write them in the diary. But now a teenager may go online and write his (每日的) feelings in a micro blog (博客). Diaries and micro blogs both (使……想起) the writers of what happened to them on a certain day. But what makes micro blogs different from diaries?

One of the biggest differences is that micro blogs attract more (注意力), while diaries are too (私人的). Nowadays people are (积极的) in writing micro blogs because they want others to read the things about them as much as possible. Also, a few special or interesting online micro blogs can be (传播) and become famous. As they write more micro blogs, their fans may (增加) as well. Therefore, some people may show the lively moments when they feel happy, some may share the (幽默的) stories or experiences, and some even write novels in their micro blogs.

If people are caring about what they write and who the readers may be, micro blogs are without (疑问) a good way to write about their life.

If people don't want their feelings to be widely known, of course, keeping diaries is one of the best (选择).

We often hear people say "I've decided a diamond ring for my wife. I hope she will like it." "I think clothes made of cotton are the most comfortable clothes I've ever worn."

Lots of clothes are made cotton, but some of are made from chemical fiber (纤维). And some blouses, shirts and dresses are made of silk. The sweaters are mainly made of wool. But plastic is used to make all kinds of daily things. It is one of the most important in the modern world. Do you think so?

Scientists studied reports of new behaviors among different kinds of birds around the world. The study includes more than 3,800 new behaviors among 8,600 kinds of birds. They discovered that the more new hunting skills the birds learn, the larger population they will have.

However, scientists also found that innovation（革新） can only protect birds from changes in their living place, but not from over-hunting or the danger from other animals. For example, some animals are very dangerous to some birds: snakes can eat little birds; some hungry mice steal birds' eggs. Above all, humans often mean the greatest danger to birds. They always take up too much space, cut down trees and even cause various kinds of pollution.

This shows that, unlike what is usually believed, the ability of innovation protects animals from some but not all of the rapid changes in the environment.

I hope when you read this letter you don't find my writing too messy! At the moment, I'm 15 years old and living at home with my family. I love school and have lots of good friends. We do lots of fun things together like parties, ice skating and swimming. My biggest worry is not doing well in my school exams, but I'm working really hard, so hopefully I have nothing to worry about.

There's so much I (you!) want to do. I hope you've traveled all over the world, seen lots of things and met lots of people. I hope you've visited the Great Wall in China and the pyramids in Egypt, shopped in New York City and in Paris, and seen polar bears in Norway and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, I've just remembered, you always wanted to see elephants in India—I hope you've managed to do that, too.

I promise myself I'll always try my best and have no regrets. I never want to forget where every step of my life has taken me. Already it seems as if so much has happened. I've moved from primary to junior middle school (about to graduate), been taught to swim and dance (I love ballet dancing), learned to speak Chinese and French, and raised money for those in need by selling old toys and books.

Hannay walked along the country road for a long time. Then he saw a road worker, who was working alone, fixing the road. Hannay could see the road worker was not feeling well. Hannay came up to him and said, "How are you?" "My head hurts," the road worker said. "I can't do it. I want to go home. My daughter got married yesterday, and I drank a lot of wine with my friends. That's the problem!" Hannay agreed that he should be home in bed. "Yes, and I would have been," he replied. "But yesterday I received a message saying that the new surveyor (测量员) was coming to check my work. If he comes and finds me away, I'll be in trouble." Suddenly, Hannay had a bright idea—he could act as the road worker and get away from his enemies. "You go off to bed," Hannay said. "I'll do your job until the new surveyor comes." The road worker was pleased with his idea. He gave Hannay his hat and his old coat. Then he went home to sleep and perhaps to drink a bit more. Hannay put on the road worker's hat and coat and began to fix the road.

About an hour later, he heard a voice. "Are you the road worker?" it asked. It was the new surveyor. He was a young man with a clean face. He sat in a small car. Hannay said yes. The surveyor told him about some work he wanted him to do before he came by again and drove off. Hannay continued with his work. Then a village boy came by. "What has happened to the road worker?" he asked. "He stayed at home today," Hannay replied. "He's sick."

At about midday, a large car came down the hill and stopped near Hannay. Three men got out of the car. Hannay's heart beat fast. He knew his enemies were coming.

He knew that his friends all had bicycles. It was4 to hang around with people when you were the only one without wheels. He5 what he could do. There was no6 asking his parents, for he knew they had no money to spare.
