One day, we visited some friends and had afternoon tea together. Afternoon tea is not just a drink but a light meal at around 4 p. m. We ate sandwiches and a large fruit cake. In England, you usually drink tea with milk. SoI tried to drink tea with milk too.

Fish and chips is traditional food in England. You can buy it and eat it in special fish and chip shops on the high street, or you can take it away and eat it with your fingers! It is delicious!

At the bus stop, you must not push your way onto the bus. You need to stand in a line and wait your turn.Sometimes people are slow to get on the bus. Once I noticed a gentleman touched a young man on the shoulder,smiled politely and said, "Excuse me! Are you waiting for this bus? " He was really polite.

Food is an important part of every culture. In different countries, people have different eating habits and favorite foods.

In China, people usually eat with chopsticks. Rice and noodles are basic foods. A typical Chinese meal often includes several dishes that everyone shares. Soup is usually served at the end of the meal.

In Italy, pasta and pizza are very popular. Italians usually have a light breakfast, a big lunch, and a late dinner. They often use forks and knives to eat.

In India, many people are vegetarians(素食主义者). They eat a lot of rice, bread, and vegetables. Spices are very important in Indian cooking. People in India usually eat with their right hand.

In Mexico, com is a staple (主要的) food. Tacos, burritos, and nachos are popular Mexican dishes.Mexican food is often spicy. People usually eat with forks and knives or sometimes with their hands for certain foods.

No matter where you are in the world, food brings people together. Trying food from different cultures is a great way to learn about other countries and their traditions.

After a few weeks in China, I started to notice something strange at the dinner table. I was in 1 restaurant with my friends when, beside us on another table, a group of four men were 2 at each other and waving their money around. I finally learned that they were actually"fighting" to3 the bill!

In our daily life, we often compare ourselves with others. Sometimes, this can be a good thing. It can make us work harder and try to be better. For example, if we see that our classmates are better at math than us, we may study math more seriously to catch up with them. 

However, comparing ourselves with others too much can also have some negative effects (消极影响). It can make us feel stressed and unhappy. We may always focus on the things that others have but we don't. 

The key is to find a balance. We should learn from others' strengths, but at the same time, we should also appreciate our own unique qualities. Everyone has their own advantages and disadvantages. We should be proud of who we are and not always worry about being like others. 

More and more people believe that technologies are great for learning. Today, such teaching tools as iPads are used in a lot of courses, including language, history and science.

Many teachers are supporters（支持者）of using iPads in language learning. They say that students now have much more time for discussion in the classroom. Instead of spending class time listening to texts or watching teaching videos, students can do this on their own and come to class prepared for discussion.

The teachers also say that iPads allow students to learn at their own pace. Some students might listen to a conversation only once and understand it, so they can save time for doing other things. Other students, however, might need to listen to the same conversation again to understand it.

The students who are using the new tool in some courses are also happy. They believe that using iPads is a more enjoyable way to learn (such as listening to stories and watching movies ). The class has become much more interesting and creative.

There are other advantages（优点）for students. By using iPads, they can pay more attention to the material and learn more. Teaching notes are stored（分类）in their iPads and are easy to find. Some students spend more time studying now. "I can listen to my language material or watch teaching videos on the bus, instead of having to wait until I get home," a student explained.

Many adults complain that technologies such as iPads are bad for students. They worry that students might use iPads to download teaching notes and use them to cheat during exams. Some believe that iPads may separate（分隔）students from each other.

However, technologies are already a part of most students' day-to-day lives. As for cheating, teachers can ask students to hand in their iPads when they take exams. Education needs to make changes with the times as technology is playing an important part. We should look forward to a wonderful future when iPads and other technologies can add a lot to the classroom.
