Dear James, 

How's your life in the new school? You' re talkative(健谈的) now. So I think your  with new classmates is going well, since you used to be really shy. I'm sure you know that our foreign teacher, Ms Watson, is leaving for the US next week. Like everyone else, I feel sad. Although Ms Watson is so strict and takes teaching  , she is kind to us. Besides teaching us the knowledge in textbooks, she also taught us how to get along well with others. So I learned many  skills from her. 

We decided to hold a farewell party(欢送会) in our classroom on Friday evening. Would you like to come?We chose Friday because it's a more  time for teachers and students to relax after a week of hard work and study. So each of us has a different task now. For example, I'm going to prepare for the party, like  the games and cleaning the classroom. Bob will print(打印) some photos that can bring back  pleasant memories, and Julia will buy glue, pens, and cards to help decorate the classroom. She' ll also help Bob put up the pictures on the wall. Holding this party is a creative  of our appreciation.

Family is a very important part of our lives. It is where we find love and support(支持). Here are some

simple ways to strengthen(增强) family relationships. 

One of the best ways is to spend a wonderful time together. This could be having dinner together, going for a walk, or playing games.  Then you can strengthen your relationships with your family members. 

 It also includes the family relationship. Try to communicate openly and honestly with your family members. Share your thoughts and feelings with them. Listen to what others want to say and show your understanding. 

 So show your support to your family members by being there for them when they need you. Of-fer a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a helping hand when they are facing challenges. 

It's also important to show appreciation(感激) to your family members. Say"thank you" when someone does something nice for you. 

Conflicts(矛盾) are a natural part of any relationship, but it's important to resolve them peacefully.  Listen to each other's opinions and work together to find a way that both of you can accept. 

Andrew also learned some ways about how to keep the friendship between friends. Good friends are very important to us, so it's not surprising that a fight with a friend can be very sad. Here are some useful ways to get along with friends. 

Communicate with each other. Communication can help friends get to know each other better. It is common for us to fight with our friends because others may not understand us all the time, even our best friends. So in our lives, we should tell them our ideas and communicate with them often. 

Be a good listener. When our friends have problems, we should listen to them carefully first. Do not keep speaking about - our thoughts and stories all the time. Listening to friends carefully can make them feel that we truly care about them, Being a good listener can also help us better understand our friends' thoughts. 

Use J-messages. When we want to tell our friends something, we'd better use I-messages. Using I-messages can make our friends easily follow our advice. It's better to say"I think" than"You should". That's because using You-messages can make our friends feel that we are instructing(命令) them to do something. So it is terrible to use You-messages. 

After listening to Mr Jason's advice, Andrew decided to have a try. . . between us. 

Things changed when I started sharing my feelings with her. I realized that the reason why she pushed me was that she wanted me to take good care of myself. She also came to know that I just needed more rest. Finally, we found out the best way to solve these problems—— to cut back on some of my activities. As our relationship improved, my mother became one of my friends. When she was tired from work, I cheered her up with some interesting things that happened at school to let her relax. When I faced problems, she encouraged me a lot. 

Last month, I was seriously ill and couldn't go to school. My grades dropped a lot. To help me improve, she helped me when I studied. It moved me a lot. Luckily, my grades finally improved a lot. After the tests, I used my pocket money to buy a cake for her. The good grades were not only mine but also hers. 

Now, I truly understand the importance of communication. If we stop arguing and start communicating with others, we can make a difference to our lives. 

Beria, a shy girl, went to a new school last term. She 1 spoke to others. Some students even played jokes on her. Their 2 actions made her quieter.
