Junior high school life is quite different from that of primary school. Three years has  and now it's time to say goodbye. Looking back at the past three years, I have a lot of wonderful memories. And I think it plays an important  in my life.

I still remember meeting all of my teachers and classmates in Grade 7. We had great fun  part in different kinds of activities. The subjects were kind of easy. All of us were full of energy and thirsty knowledge.

When it came to Grade 8, life became much more difficult than before.  my parents had great expectations for me, I always let them down. Therefore, I had to work  and harder to deal with them. I always felt worried and uneasy, and I began to hate many subjects, especially English. I even got into a fight with my parents, which is called rebellion (叛逆). I became  interested in computer games. It was even impossible for me to realize the importance of learning. I didn't believe in  and behaved badly at school.

As time went by, we were welcomed by Grade 9. Thanks to the people helped and supported us all the time, things seemed to be better. And now, as we set out on our new journey, we have the ability to make our own  wisely and be responsible for our decisions.

Today, we work harder and we're proud of our school and we hope in the future our school can take pride in us, too!

Has your teacher ever visited your home? Home visits used to be a key way for teachers and families to communicate. But traditional visits are now less welcomed.

A recent survey in Zhejiang province found that 80 percent of 6, 200 parents don't like teachers visiting their homes, reported CCTV.

There are several reasons for this. Some parents have a strong sense of privacy (隐私), while others find the preparation work tiring. For busy teachers, visiting all their students' homes can take up too much of their energy and time.

To solve the problem, schools and teachers in China are trying new ways to communicate. For example, Wang Hongjun, a principal (大学校长) in Shenzhen, holds parent-teacher meetings twice each term instead of once. During these meetings, teachers give a 30-minute summary and then have one- on-one meetings with each parent for 15-20 minutes. This makes communication clearer and more focused on what's truly important.

Wang's school also sets up a parent classroom. It offers group activities and book clubs to support parents' development. This program shows the importance of a peaceful home environment for children and develops a stronger relationship between school and family.

Success is often considered to be the opposite of failure. To teenagers, it is the achievement of a goal or completion of something they really need, such as good grades and the ability to get along well with their classmates. Some schools used to agree with most parents who measured (判定) the success of their children according to grades, but now they pay special attention to moral (道德的) education and character-building to make sure teenagers achieve success in building human relationships.

Schools give chances to students to discover their hidden ability so that they can enjoy some form of success. For example, those good at speaking skills are advised to take part in speech competitions while those interested in arts are expected to perform in front of their classmates. Teenagers also get the pleasure of success when they join their favorite clubs.

Teenagers are often told that success is not easy to achieve and that success lies in hard work. Great efforts have to be put into project work. Doing things much later than planned should be avoided as this will lead to a mountain of work which finally makes them nervous. Another good quality (品质) is a sense of responsibility which makes them remember that a task has to be completed.

Sticking to moral values is the key to success too. Honest teenagers will win the trust of friends leading to good relationships. Self-motivation (自我激励) is another quality to be developed, for self-motivated teenagers will have the strong will (意志) and drive to perform a task and finally get to enjoy a sense of achievement.

Bert won a national prize called Young Heroes for his "green" project. His love for insects grew deeper and he was protecting them for the future.

Bert found his love early in life. When he was around 4 or 5, he always loved to watch different insects, especially beautiful swallowtails (凤蝶). One interesting fact he learned about swallowtails was that their bright colors warned hungry animals that they tasted bad. And it was also fun to watch how they came into being. But the reason he really fell in love with them was that they were very accessible. For example, if you wanted to attract (吸引) swallowtails, you planted some zinnias (鱼尾菊), a kind of bright flowers.

Bert started a zinnia garden at his house, where he raised a large number of swallowtails over the years. With the world's swallowtail population falling, Bert wanted people to realize that if insects like swallowtails disappeared, so would all the others above them on the food chain. To make the fact clear and easy to understand for other students, he also created a zinnia garden at his junior high school.

Part of the joy for Bert was watching the younger students get excited when running after swallowtails. "Whenever a swallowtail lands on them, the young students will soon fall in love with these cute insects. They develop a new appreciation (欣赏) for them," he said.

Bert put his efforts into the environmental educational project and made it take flight.

Guangxi, located in the southern part of China, is a wonderful place with a large number of ethnic groups (少数民族), such as the Zhuang, Yao and Miao. Their special ways of life bring rich and colorful cultures to Guangxi.

The traditional festivals here are really fascinating. For example, the Zhuang people's San Yue San Festival is very lively. On that day, young people come together to sing folk songs. They see it as a good chance to find their lovers. They also throw embroidered balls (绣球), adding more fun to the festival.

The houses in Guangxi are special too. Many ethnic groups build stilt houses (吊脚楼). These houses are built above the ground. This can protect them from the wet ground and insects, which is a great way to deal with the wet climate (气候) in Guangxi.

Each ethnic group has its own special handicrafts (手工艺品). The Zhuang people are well-known for their Zhuang brocade (壮锦). It has all kinds of beautiful patterns like flowers, birds and animals. People put a lot of effort into making it, which shows their great creativity.

In a word, the cultures of Guangxi play an important role in China's culture. They are full of charm (魅力) and meaning, making our country's cultural treasures richer.
