Last summer, I returned to my hometown. One day, I went out to go fishing  my friend Xiaojie. We went  a bridge and picked some flowers by the river bank. When we walked to the river, a little dog barked(狗吠) ran to us. We were afraid(害怕的), so we ran fast and wanted  go back home. only took us three minutes to run home. We felt too tired, but we laughed loudly when we looked at each other. 

Xiaoyu took a trip to Inner Mongolia(内蒙古) with her family. It was a wonderful place and it was (著名的) for beautiful views(风景). They also took their (宠物) dog there with them. 

Xiaoyu wanted to ride a horse. But she was  short to (太……而不能) get on a horse. So she shouted(大喊), "Dad, please help me." Her father (hear) her and came to help her. He rode (beside) her to keep her safe all the way. (突然；忽然), Xiaoyu's horse began to speed up(加速) and Xiaoyu fell down from it. Her father jumped off his horse and held her in his arms. They rolled(翻滚) around on the ground for a few seconds(秒). Luckily, they were (安全的) at last. 

At night, they went (camp). When they looked (向上), they saw beautiful stars in the sky. They (build) a fire and shared fun things happened today. They all thought everything was great.

When we go traveling, we may ask for directions(方向) and locations(位置). People in different countries answer in different ways.

In the United States, people often use distances(距离). They might say, "Turn left on Main Street and go on walking. It will take you 10 minutes to walk there." 

In Japan, people often use different buildings to give you directions. For example, they'll tell you, "The restaurant is across from the supermarket." and "The subway station is behind that tall building." Remember, in Japan, both cars and people go on the left side.

In the north of China, people often give directions by using north, south, east and west. You may hear people say, "Go east at the crossing. Go along the road and then turn north. The museum is next to the school." And people in the north of China are very friendly. Some of them even take you where you want to go. 

Know about the differences of giving directions, and you can have great fun when going on a trip. 

①Do you love taking a trip to the beach(海滩)? Going traveling is exciting but safety should always come first. Here are some tips for you to keep yourself safe during the beach trip. 

②Stay with your parents. Once there was a little boy playing with water on the beach. He left his parents to look for shells(贝壳) and forgot the time. In the end, he couldn't find his parents. What a bad thing!

③Be careful with swimming. If you go to the beach for the first time, ask others or search online to make sure it's OK to swim there before you go swimming in the sea. Don't swim alone. It is not safe. And when swimming in the sea, you should always wear a life jacket(救生衣). 

④Watch out(小心) for things in the water. When something on the beach or in the sea bites(咬) you, you should go to see a doctor at once. 

⑤Remember, your life is valuable. While having fun, you should be very careful and always put safety first.

Chenchen prepared a great gift for Jiajia. But he wanted her to find it by herself with a map he made. Jiajia was very excited. She started to look for the gift.

Jiajia read the map carefully. First, she went across a bridge, and then turned right. She stopped to read the map again, and it said she should keep going and walk along Taiping Road. Ten minutes later, she got to a school. In front of the school, there was a big tree. On the tree, there was a board. It says, "Dig under the tree, and you will get a surprising(令人惊喜的) gift." Jiajia dug hard. Two minutes later, she couldn't find anything, so she dug towards(朝向) another direction(方向) under the tree. Two minutes later, she still couldn't find anything. She got angry, and thought Chenchen lied to her and made fun of(取笑) her. She went back to find Chenchen. Chenchen went to the tree and dug with her."You need to be patient(耐心的) and dig deeper,"said Chenchen. Five minute later, they found a beautiful box. There was a nice scarf in it!

Mr. Chen moved to a new community. His new neighbor gave him a map to help him know about the community. He also introduced some places to him.

In recent days, the word "xiexiu" has become very popular on social media. But the meaning of it has a lot, so it's important to explain two main of it.

At, in Chinese novels, it means bad rulers using wrong ways to make themselves strong. This makes them different from good characters, who follow rules and improve step by step.

However, in today's online world, this is a relaxed idea. It now means using unusual but ways to solve daily problems, and young people especially like this trend (趋势).

Cooking is a good example. Instead of usual ways, many young people dare to use some new ways—like putting barbecued meat into a yogurt, or melting ice cream to make a sauce for pasta. These ways make the process of cooking and food more tasty, fitting young people's busy lives.
