Do you have stress? The pillow (枕头) fighting is a good way for you to relax. And it must be the friendliest fight in the world.  Last week, we had a pillow  fight at our school. There were four groups in the game. Each group had the same number of  pillows. We just needed to throw our pillows at the other groups. .     

The game began. We were very happy and excited. Everyone tried his or her best to throw pillows  to each other. A few minutes later, pillows were flying everywhere.  Some students' job was throwing pillows to other groups. I just need to pick up the pillows on the ground. We worked together in this way and just enjoyed the game. 

 It was time to count the number of pillows. It seemed that we have more pillows than the other groups.  Although they lost the game, everyone had a great time. This activity not only let us relax our bodies and minds, but also let us feel the power of unity (团结). 

What does a typical day look like for a high school student in the United States? Well, everyone's very different. I can describe my normal day in high school for you. 

Our school day went from 8:30 a. m. to 5:30 p. m. However, some days I had cheerleading (啦啦队) practice or play practice at 6:30 a. m. If I had cheerleading practice I got ready at school, and if I had time, I ate breakfast at the school cafeteria. 

Then I would head to my locker and take my books for the first period. Each class went for about 50 minutes and we had 4 minutes to get to the next class. We studied everything from science to math and Spanish to P. E. 

I played the piano in band, so one of my class periods was used for that. Lunchtime would be at 12:30 p. m. and afterwards we had some time to hang out outside or by our lockers. At the end of the day there was a seminar period. It could be used for studying or meetings. 

After school, I would cheer at a basketball game, be a lifeguard (救生员) at work or have speech practice. My family always tried to have dinner together at around 7 p. m. , but there wasn't always time. I would finally start studying at around 8 or 9 p. m. 

So there you have it! That's my typical day in high school. 

I'm a student at Rocky Mountain High School. The school day begins at 8:45. Class teachers meet the class and check who is present and absent at the beginning of the day. We meet as a whole school once a week on Fridays. The head teacher speaks to the whole school. Morning lessons begin at 9:05. There are three one-hour lessons with a fifteen-minute break. The lunch break is from 1 p. m. to 1:45. Afternoon lessons begin at 1:50 and the school day finishes at 4 p. m. 

All students study and take exams in maths, science and English. In addition, they choose one subject from History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology, French and Spanish. All students take PHSE (Personal Health and Safety Education) lessons but no exams are offered. After school sports practice and matches are arranged on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. Chess, music, language and theatre clubs also arrange meeting after school. Students may join as many clubs as they like, but should join at least one. 

Every year, our school has a sports meeting. All the students can take part in the activities they like. The school has a good record in sports. Last year our class team were champions in football and tennis, and my best friend Bob likes running. He broke the record because he got the shortest time in 400-metre race. 

Classrooms are around an indoor rainforest. Insects (昆虫) can live in the walls of the classrooms. If you could design your ideal school, what would it look like? What would you have in it?

Well, children at the Reggio School in Madrid, Spain, were happy. They could make their dream school turn into a real one. The designer, Andrés Jaque had the idea to build such a school. At first, he talked to many teachers and students about his ideas. Then he began building the school. 

The parents wanted things that could rich the children's imagination (想象力). They hoped that the things could help with their children's learning. They also wanted their children to show interest in something. Interest is the best teacher. The children hoped for things such as gardens or a school with no walls. 

Now, have a look at the new school. The walls are home to some insects. Staying in some of the classrooms, you can see gardens. People can't go to the gardens. They hope that birds and other animals can use the gardens and not be troubled (打扰). On the fifth and sixth floor, classrooms are around a small indoor forest. Some small animals live in it.

My name is Daniel. I'm in Grade 8. This is my second year at middle school. When we finish Grade 9, we have to take a(n) 1 to continue (继续) our studies. We go to school five days a 2 and have seven lessons every day. We study Chinese, Maths and English. We also have 3 subjects, such as Geography, History, Physics and Computer studies. 4 is my favourite subject because I like learning new words.

We have different after-school clubs. Some 5 are for fun, such as the Chess Club and the Basketball Club. Some clubs are for study, such as the Maths Club and the Geography Club. I am a 6 of the English Singing Club. I like it because I think it 7 to sing English songs.

We are at a 8 school with 905 boys and 560 girls. Many 9 need help to learn more about the new school. They may have 10 with their new school life. When they have problems, they do not want to tell their teachers. They may feel 11 if they can talk to older students. At our school, the older students can 12 the Helping Hands Club. These big brothers and sisters talk to the new students and try to 13 them with their problems.

In China, 14 thinks going to school is very important. We are happy to be at school. And I should say that our 15 is the best.

Studying alone or studying with a group

Some students like to study alone. Others enjoy studying with a group. 

Studying in groups is helpful to our study. It becomes popular in class and has many good sides. For example, we can not only save time but also encourage each other when we study in groups. I still remember when I was in Grade 8, my physics was very poor. I had a really hard time with it. Once in class, the teacher asked us to discuss questions with each other. Because I was very shy (腼腆的), I could not do it like what he told me. My physics teacher encouraged me to face others and talk with someone else. Then I studied with some classmates together. When I did not understand any questions, they could give me some suggestions and I could quickly find out the ways to deal with the problems. After that I felt very relaxed and asked my classmates a lot of questions about physics. Finally, I finished my homework by myself for the first time. How excited I was!

Because of studying in groups, I am not worried about physics learning any more. With my classmates' help, I get more confidence (自信). It also gives me more chances to improve myself in many ways. So let's study more in groups. 

Today, we are going to talk about some good ways to study. What is the  (good) way to study? This is one of the most important  (question) among young students. Some Chinese students often  (study) very hard for long hours and practise as much as possible. It is a good habit,  it is not a better way to study. 

 efficient (效率高的) student must sleep well, eat well and rest well. Every week a student needs  (go) for a walk or visit some friends or some nice places. It's good  your study. When you return to your study, you'll find yourself  (strong) than before and you'll learn more. Maybe we can say that  (learn) is like taking Chinese medicine. Learn  (careful) every day and effects will surely come in the end. 

My father was a college teacher. He was  at speaking different languages. My family  to many places and my father could talk to everyone he met. 

I wasn't a great language learner. When I was 11 years old, I was poor in French. After I got  college, I read books in translation (翻译). Hermann Hesse was my favorite . I loved his works very much. I  wanted to read them in their mother languages. This idea made  start to study German. Although I made , I never stopped studying new languages. When I was twenty years old, I could speak French, Russian  German. 

I spent two hours every day studying languages before I went to bed. Chinese was the most difficult. I spent ten years learning Chinese. Now, I can pronounce Chinese words well and  with others fluently (流利地). I have many Chinese friends too. 

I think the world will be less interesting if there is only one language. It is like visiting a  with only one kind of plant! So I will keep working hard to study more languages.

In class, there is no need to  everything on the screen. 

 protect our eyes, we should spend less time using electronic products. 

When you learn English, you can't just   grammar.
