Today is Monday and it's 5:30 p. m. now. Alice and her brother Bob get home  school. "How is your school day, Alice?" Mom asks. 

"It's interesting, Mom, " Alice says. "In the morning, I  history and geography. They are my favorite . In the afternoon, I'm not busy because I only have P. E. We  tennis today. It's  for me because I can't play tennis. But my classmate Meimei  me with it, " Alice says. 

"You really have a good day! So how about your school day, Bob?" Mom asks. 

"Very good, " Bob says. "Mrs. Brown asks  to stand in the front of the  this morning and I feel like I'm a teacher. "

" does she ask you to do that?" Mom asks. 

"Because I am sleepy (瞌睡的) in class. Oh, she asks me for your phone number  she needs to call you this evening, " Bob says. 

I'm Judy. I live in China with my family now. I'm a middle school student. At school, I have nine subjects—maths, English, Chinese, science, geography, history, art, PE and music. 

My mother says Chinese is beautiful and important. I always read Chinese books before I go to bed. I also like history. It is my favourite subject. Mr Brown is my history teacher. In his history classes, I can learn many interesting stories. 

Mr Green is my maths teacher. He says maths is useful and interesting, but I think it is boring. My science teacher, Mrs Smith, is nice. I listen to her carefully (认真的) in class. But I can't do well in the science test. I don't know why. 

We always have art, PE or music in the afternoon. For me, the classes in the afternoon are fun and relaxing. In the PE class, I like to play ping-pong with my PE teacher. In the music class, we sing songs together. 

I'm Steve, Our school has an art festival in June every year. Today is the art festival and our parents also come. After that, we go home with our parents, because tomorrow is Saturday. 

In the morning, we get up early. The teacher helps us make up (化妆), and we wear beautiful clothes. The show of our class is boys singing and girls dancing. At 9 a. m. , the show starts (开始). Our class is the third one and we try ourbest (尽最大的努力) to finish it. So we get the first prize (奖). We are very happy. 

In the afternoon, we play games with our parents. Children all wear the same clothes and shoes, and Mum and Dad need to find their kids in two minutes. Some children's parents can't find them. So they give us a small show. My parents find me, but my father also gives us a show—Chinese kungfu. Children all like the show. 

I am very busy today, but I am really happy. I like the art festival. 

In our Chinese school, all students have their favourite subjects. But students in different grades like different subjects. 

In Grade One and Two, students' favourite subject is always Chinese, because it's the mother tongue and it's easy for them. But most of them don't like English. They think English is very difficult. 

In Grade Five and Six, some students like math very much. But they aren't very good at math. Interesting? Some students think English is boring! And some students don't like science. 

In Grade Seven, English is some students' favourite subject. They say it's fun and easy for them. Some students like Chinese. They think it's useful in their daily life. 

In Grade Eight and Nine, some students like math best. They think math is really interesting. But some students say math is their least (最少地) favourite subject, because it's too difficult!

Now some Chinese students in middle schools have one labour (劳动) class a week. How do students like the new subject? Let's have a look. 

In our school, students learn to grow vegetables. We have a labour class on Friday. We grow carrots, potatoes and we grow strawberries too. We like the labour class very much. It is really relaxing.

I can learn to cook from my teacher. At first, it is very difficult to learn. I feel great when I cook good food. I can scramble (炒) eggs with tomatoes for my family. I can make salad too. I like the new subject. Thanks to it, I can learn a lot. I think it is useful.

We keep (饲养) chickens at school. We take vegetables and rice to them to eat on Tuesday. We can play with chickens. So much fun, right? It is my favourite subject.

I'm Mingming. I have three friends in my class. They are Lily, Jack and Carl. We all think our school life is wonderful. My favorite class is English. Every day I answer the most questions in English classes. My teacher says I study English really well. But my friends don't like English. They have their favorite subjects. 

Lily: English is a little difficult. I like history best because it's interesting. From history classes I can learn about the past. We have history classes on Tuesday and Thursday. 

Jack: I'm an active boy in PE classes. Doing sports can make me strong and healthy. I'm good at running and swimming. I look cool in sports games. I'm lucky to have three PE classes every week. 

Carl: I'm a quiet boy and I love art class best. I can draw colorful pictures. It's bad that we have only one art class every week. 

Tom is an English boy. June 15th is his 1 birthday. Now he is a student in Grade Seven in Xinrui Middle School. This 2 , there are a lot of fun things in his school. If you want to visit his school, you can 3 him at 485-7231. 

He 4 a school trip (旅行) on March 5th. All of the students will join it. 5 is the soccer game? Oh, it is in April. He is on the school soccer team (队). He thinks 6 team will win (赢). School Day is on May 12th. Students' 7 can come to the school. They can 8 with the teachers about their children. And on June 10th, his school schedules a music festival (节日). Where is it? It's in the school 9 . He loves music. Oh! He can't wait!

This is a really 10 but interesting term! All the students will have a good time.
