"Stove-boiled tea" — China's newest way to relax

China's traditional tea making has became the latest world intangible culture heritage (非物质文化遗产). "Stove-boded tea" is also the latest "Guo Chao", which is from Tang and Song dynasties. So far, the traditional way of drinking tea  the new popularity in China. It puts Chinese culture into people's  lives. 

The process of drinking tea has a sense occasion. Usually, before boiling tea, tea  are roasted (烘烤) on a stove. Then they  in a pot over a charcoal-filled (木炭) stove. 

The art of boiling tea is a time  with friends or family. People sit around the stove and have snacks such as fruit, nuts, and desserts with  hot tea. It's a pleasure to chat with friends  having tea. People also post their photos of "stove-boiled tea" wearing traditional hanfu online. "Stove-boiled tea" is more of a social activity. It  young people's understanding of drinking tea now. 

Similar to other new lifestyles. "Stove-boiled tea" shows young people's ideas to get much  to the nature and experience a more peaceful mind. It is  to drink hot tea and chat with best friends. 

People think different colours have different meanings. They think some colours can bring them good luck. In Chinese culture, there are some lucky colours. 

Red—Happiness, Success and Good Fortune(命运)

Red represents (代表) fire and is the most popular colour in China. 

Red is popular with Chinese people and it is widely used during festivals and important events like weddings. 

Red things are common in our everyday life. We can see red lanterns, red paper cuttings and so on.  Red envelopes (信封) are filled with money and given as gifts during the Chinese New Year. 

Yellow—Royalty(王室成员) and Power of the Throne(宝座)

In Chinese culture, yellow stands for royalty and was usually used by the emperor. 

The first emperor of China was known as Yellow Emperor. 

Green—Money and Wealth

Green is a colour which has many meanings such as wealth, hope and growth. Green also stands for purity and cleanliness. 

 Packaging for some produce is often in green in order to show that the food is not polluted. 

Kitten Kay Sera is officially the world's pinkest person. The 52-year-old lives in a totally pink house with pink accessories (配饰) and has worn nothing but pink for the last 35 years. If you think it is easy to make everything pink, you should take a look at her dog, because she even colors her dog pink by using some harmless juice. 

Kitten had her strong love for pink in her late teens. "I gave all my other clothes away. My family thought a short time later I would change my mind quickly, but I am starting my fortieth year of pink power and I am not looking back. The experiment made me realize how much money I had spent on the clothes I never wore because they didn't suit my style. Wearing just one color made me feel strong and took the stress out of deciding what to wear," she explains. 

Kitten is now celebrating winning "the pinkest person" title. She says, "I am the world's pinkest person and my life is filled with that color. Some people think I am strange but honestly, I don't care because I feel comfortable and happy with my choice. "

Both she and her pink home are in demand. Every day, she receives thousands of calls from many people including some famous singers, movie makers and designers. They all want to visit her house. For singers, they want her house as part of their MV. For designers, they always use her house for some magazines. "I think my love begins to pay me back," Kitten says. 

From red apples and yellow lemons to blueberries and green melons, fruit comes in many different colors. Why do different kinds of fruit have so many colors? 

According to Lu Wei from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, fruit colors actually come from their different pigments(色素). These pigments appear in different numbers, depending on the fruit's environment. This causes the fruit to turn a certain color. 

To find out how environment affects fruit colors, Chinese scientists studied more than 280 different fruit colors, including white, red, blue, purple and black. 

They found that red fruit is easy to grow in cooler places. Blue and purple fruit mostly grows in warm places. These fruit always grows a lot in just one area. The scientists also found that the closer the fruit is to the equator(赤道), the darker its color will be. 

Animals have also had an effect on the fruit colors. Animals eat fruit and drop the seeds in other places later. This helps the fruit spread and grow in different places. Therefore, in order to attract animals, some fruit develop colors that are easy for animals to see. For example, birds can see red more easily than humans can. Therefore, there may be more red fruit in areas where birds live. 

As usual, Amber was hurrying to catch the yellow school bus. Luckily the traffic lights turned green as she was to cross the road, so she made it. When the bus passed the golden arches (拱形门) of McDonald's, they reminded her of a hamburger. She hadn't had breakfast that morning because the fruit salad on the blue dish didn't look delicious at all. However, Amber remembered that she was still on a diet. So now she was really in a black mood. 

You may have noticed that several colors were used in the above story so as to help describe Amber's morning. In fact, colors influence your life more than you can ever imagine. Take language for example: You may describe a sick person as being "a bit green". To describe a depressed (沮丧的) person, you say that the person is "feeling blue". In short, colors do add interest to daily conversations. 

Besides, colors can be used in many parts of your daily life. Have you ever thought about why many school buses and taxis are painted yellow, and stop signs red? Since yellow is the most eye-catching color, it can catch people's attention, especially in heavy traffic. As for red, it is the color which usually shows warning; as a result, some traffic signs use this color. For the same reason, hot-water taps are usually marked red. 

The colors of a dining environment possibly decide how much you eat. Most fast-food restaurants are often decorated in bright colors such as red, yellow, orange, and white for the purpose of increasing people's appetites (胃口). This is because bright colors are natural colors found in many foods, and, therefore, able to raise people's spirits. Blue, in comparison with bright colors, is said to lower people's appetites because few foods are blue in nature. For those who are on a diet, blue dishes and bowls might help!

"Morning, Amber! What happened? You look a bit green," said Violet, Amber's best friend.

In Chinese culture, the color red stands for many good things, for example, happiness. But writing names and letters with red pens is usually avoided. Why? 

In ancient times, red was the symbol of power. Not everyone could write with red pens—only emperors. They would reply to officials' memorials（奏折）with red pens. The red ink that emperors used was made of cinnabar（朱砂）. 

Writing with red pens was also related to death. In ancient China, the criminals who were sentenced to death（被判死刑）signed their names with red pens. The records of criminals' names were all written in red words. Names on the tombstones（墓碑）were red as well. Therefore, it was thought to be unlucky to write names with red pens. Since red words carry bad meanings, people don't write letters with red pens. 

Nowadays, red pens are used for proof-reading（校对）. Teachers mark students' homework with red pens. Editors who need them to correct mistakes in newspapers and magazines. But writing names or letters with red pens is still a bad idea to many people.

*Stay with your family. We all need our family time. Talk  your mom and dad or maybe even your cousin. 

Come on! Facing trouble with courage and learn to solve them! You'll be happy. 

We all know fights at school sometimes happen. But how can you keep away from a fight? 

Keep calm (冷静的). Sometimes, you feel so angry that you really want to teach somebody a lesson. But being angry can't solve (解决) problems.  It may bring you more problems. In the school, everyone will be punished (惩罚) if he gets into a fight. There are no winners in a fight. 

Shout loudly. If you know someone is coming up behind you to attack (攻击), turn to the person and say "stop" loudly before walking away.  If the person doesn't stop, shout for help by calling out the name of a teacher around you. 

Learn to say no. Your friend may ask you to join in a fight, but helping him fight is not really helpful to him.  Also, you can tell him if he gets into a fight, he may get hurt (伤害) and be punished. Then, try to learn why he wants a fight and help him find a right way to solve the problem. 

 This is a school rule. We must follow it.
