As teachers, we often love to encourage our students to try new things at a young age. , I think this is a huge mistake—— learning new things at any age is important and it can help us become better. 

Take myself as an example, I didn't start playing ice hockey until my early 40s. My son was a huge sports fan, and usually I was asked to take him to watch games between the big teams. Gradually, I fell in love  the sport, and after a few months, I decided to give it a try. 

To be honest, it is  (hard) sport I've ever played. There was so much to learn. I also needed to learn how to pass and shoot (master) skating skills. I saw a lot of players get on the ice and pick it up quickly and  (easy). But I was an exception(例外). I was so terrible at  (skate), but I always kept on going. So I took some skating training  (lesson). Then I joined a hockey team and practiced hard in my free time. I finally made it, though it took me a really long time. Learning hockey has also helped me bebetter teacher in some ways. Being bad at hockey helps me to understand those students in my class who have difficulty  (learn) English. I'm not stupid. It just takes me longer to learn and practice a skill before I'm able to do it. 

It's good to learn new things  they come with more difficulty or not. It won't be late to start anything at any time.

Mr. Zhao sounds like a very good teacher. My English teacher, Mr. Liang, is always the person who gets to the school earliest and the last to leave the school. He loves his teaching job so much. He lives in a small town (在……附近) a big farm. 

He ever studied in a European country and learned a lot, so he is a great teacher with much (知识). It seems he knows everything across the world. 

He says English is widely used all over the world. Many students think that English is difficult to learn. But he doesn't think so. He thinks that every student is born with the  (能力)to learn. He often has (谈话) with us and tells us that we shouldn' t be afraid of making mistakes. He explains everything that we don' t understand so that we won' t(重复) making the same mistakes. Besides, he usually leads us to read some interesting novels written in English. We can get much (快乐;高兴) by reading them and it helps to  (增长) our reading speed as well.

Emily is a teenage girl from Gaithersburg. She has always loved reading. Growing up, she was really shy, so she spent much time 1 books. They became her best friends when she didn't have one.

 On New Year' s Eve, many cultures around the world open a window as the clock rings at midnight to let out old year's air, bring in the new air, and have good luck. 

 On sticky notes(便利贴), write down what you hope will happen in 2026. Then stick them on a board or bedroom wall where you can read them for encouragement. 

 Challenge yourself in 2026. For example, if you want to learn to cook, you could offer to help your family prepare dinner every Friday night in January. You could help choose the recipe and supermarket for the ingredients, and then do the cooking. 

 Write"2026" on a bottle. When good things happen or someone gives you a hand in the year, note them on pieces of paper and put them in the bottle. Read your notes and reflect on the year you had until December, 2026.

Look at the middle finger on your right hand. Is there a bump(凸起) on it? It's probably something you don't notice. But for Qiao Feier, a teenage girl from Xi' an, it' s an identity mark of growing up as a teenager. 

This August, Qiao held a photographic exhibition(展览) named Shaping in Xi'an, showing 117photos of different students' bumps. "In the past 12 years of my life, my classmates and I have been working hard to become good students in the eyes of our teachers and parents, " Qiao told Teens. "One day, I started to realize how this bump is noticed along with the pressure and pain we carry. "

The bump, formed by holding her pen for too long, drew Qiao's attention from a young age. "My finger is deformed(变形的), just like how I feel at school, " she said. Surprisingly, when she asked her classmates and family, many of them did not notice the bump. "I want to make them realize that we are shaped by society. "

①The Chongyang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival, is a perfect time to make the elders feel special. It's been a tradition for years, but if you haven't celebrated it before, this could be a good year to start. Maybe you can do something grand for your grandparents. 

②One way to celebrate the festival is to simply spend time with them, which is many grandparents' favorite thing to do. You could plan to share a meal, go for a walk, read together, or invite them to one of your activities. If they don't live close by, you can video call them to chat or to do something together. 

③Another way to mark the day is to spend it volunteering with your grandparents. Talk to them about what they might like to do. If they love the outdoors, you could spend time cleaning up one of their favorite parks. If they love to cook, you could cook with them and make bagged lunches to bring to a food pantry. Helping others is a great experience to share with your grandparents and will help you make memories you' ll never forget. 

④You can also celebrate the day by making them a special video message. You can start by expressing best wishes, then share some favorite memories of times you have spent together. If you have sisters or brothers, they can be part of your video or they can make their own. It's like a digital(数字的) card your grandparents can watch when they' re missing you. 

⑤Many grandparents are the historians of their family. One way to learn more about your family's past is to go through stored photos and keepsakes(纪念品) with your grandparents. Ask them to open up a couple of boxes and talk to you about the contents. Another choice is to do a video interview with a grandparent about your family's history and share it with the rest of your relatives. 

As part of the post-2010 generation(10后), Qiu Wenjun from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, has enjoyed a joyful childhood thanks to his open-minded family. The 14-year-old studies at Nanjing No. 29 High School with math being his favorite subject.

Recently, Qiu's school has set up fun after-school activities. Still, he feels the competition among his classmates as many of them attend extracurricular(课外的) classes. "The extracurricular classes I take, like programming, are more for fun, so I'm not very stressed, " Qiu said. 

Qiu is thankful to have been born in a time that allows him to have his interests and enjoy different life experiences. With a deep love for physics and math, he decided to build a career(事业) in these fields.
