Are you shy? If you are, you are not alone. In fact, close to 50 percent of people are shy. Almost 80 percent of people feel shy at some point in their lives. These days, shyness is becoming more and more common. Now, scientists are trying to understand shyness. They have some interesting ideas about why people are shy. 

Is it possible to be born shy? Many scientists say yes. They say 15 to 20 percent of babies behave shyly. These babies are a little quieter and more watchful than other babies. Interestingly, these shy babies usually have shy parents. As a result, scientists think that some shyness is genetic. 

Family size might cause people to be shy as well: Scientists at Harvard University studied shy children. They found that 66 percent of them had older brothers and sisters. The scientists said that these children were often bullied (欺侮) by their older brothers and sisters. As a result, they became shy. At the same time, children with no brothers and sisters may be shy as well. Growing up alone, they often play by themselves. They are not able to learn the same social skills as children from big families. 

You may also be shy because of where you were born. When scientists studied shyness in different countries, they found surprising differences. In Japan, most people said they were shy. But in Israel, only one of three people said so. What explains the difference? One scientist said the Japanese and Israeli s had different opinions of failure. In Japan, when people do not succeed, they feel bad about themselves. They blame (责备) themselves for their failure. In Israel, the opposite is true. Israeli s often blame failure on outside reasons, such as family, teachers, friends, or bad luck. In Israel, freedom of opinion and risk taking are strongly supported. This may be why Israeli s worry less about failure and are less shy. 

For shy people, it can be difficult to make friends, speak in class, and even get a good job. But scientists say you can get over your shyness. They suggest trying new things and practising conversation. And don't forget— if you are shy, you are not the only one.

An AI app depends on a collection of information that someone has uploaded onto a computer system. A specially trained algorithm (算法) processes the information to produce the type of writing someone might need. It's useful for writing business emails, legal documents and even news reports, but it's not useful for expressing your personal ideas and thoughts. 

Writing is the most difficult of all the language skills. You need to be good at grammar and have a good vocabulary. Writing also requires you to think clearly. For example, Li Gong was supposed to read Earnest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea and find out what it was about. 

It's a sad story, but what does it all mean? If Li had read the book and written the book report, he would have learned a lot and had the satisfaction of expressing his own ideas about the story. That's something AI cannot do. 

The animated film Ne Zha 2, released on January 29, 2025, has become a huge success in the film industry. Directed by the famous director Jiaozi (Yang Yu), it continues the exciting story of Ne Zha（哪吒）and Ao Bing（敖丙）from the first movie.

Visually, the movie is a feast for the eyes. It begins with thrilling scenes of flowing lava like wild rivers and terrifying sea monsters jumping out of the water, making viewers feel as if they are part of the action. Beyond the action, Ne Zha 2teaches important life lessons. It encourages people to stay brave when facing difficulties, fight for what is right, and value friendship. These themes resonate with both young and adult audiences. The film has broken box office records, earning an astonishing amount in its first week. Many people praise its perfect mix of cultural elements, exciting storytelling, and positive messages.

How do you escape（逃离）comparison trap? Notice how people make you feel and spend time with friends who celebrate your strengths（优势）rather than compare themselves to you. Find ones that make you laugh or show you lovely places instead. Finally, pay attention to your own achievements and how you can improve. The best person you can compete with is yourself. 

Let's make positive comparisons. This means you value your own achievements and not someone else's. Celebrate progress instead of the final result. It doesn't matter if someone is better or faster than you; it's important that how hard you try. Set some goals and pay attention to your progress. Instead of saying"I can't do it", say"I can't do it yet". 

Huang Xuhua, a famous Chinese submarine (潜艇) designer, is known for his hard work, creativity and love for his country. His journey from a young boy in a small village to a top scientist in China is truly inspiring. 

Huang Xuhua was born in a small village in Guangdong Province. When he was very young, China was going through many changes. Huang was always curious about the ocean and how things worked. He loved reading books and trying small experiments. Huang was especially good at math and physics. The two subjects helped him build a strong foundation for his future career. When he grew older, he wanted to learn medicine at first under the influence of his parents who were both doctors in his hometown. However, to save China, Huang got into one of China's best universities to study Naval Architecture. His university life was not easy, but Huang never gave up. He graduated with excellent grades in the end. 

After graduation, Huang joined a research institute (机构) and focused on submarine design. There he faced many challenges, but he always kept strong-willed and put his shoulder to the wheel with other workmates. His efforts paid off in the end. China's first nuclear-powered submarine was independently developed and built without any help of other countries. This project was not only a big step in technology but also the key to guarding China's safety. Huang and his team worked day and night, even when things seemed impossible. His dream and love for our country kept him going on. 

Huang's work has earned him many awards, including the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, one of China's highest honors. Although Huang achieved success, he remains humble (谦虚的). He often tells young people to stay curious, work hard, and never give up.
