Do you like to go climbing with your family or friends on weekends? Yangtianwo is a good choice for its green plants, fresh air and gentle slopes(坡度). And it's located along 318 National Highway in Longquanyi,which is only about one hour's ride from the center of Chengdu city.

These years, people would like to go farther and challenge high mountains, like Qingcheng Mountain and Emei Mountain. Also, as DuDu's poem goes,"My window frames(给······镶边) Xiling Mountains with snow flashing for thousands of years." Xiling, a group of snow mountains to the west of Chengdu, is always on people's must- go list.

Man never stops his steps to go higher. Gongga Mountain, called as King of Shushan, draws tons of attention as it's the highest among Sichuan mountains(Shushan). Its main top is 7,556 meters above the sea level. Recently, a glacier(冰川) challenge was held in Gongga Mountain and Hailuogou on December 15th,2024.520 trail runners(越野跑步者) from all over the country took part in it. These competitors experienced the excitement of trail running as well as the fascination of King of Shushan.

Why do humans look forward to the highest?"Because it's there"— this was a simple answer from George Mallory, a famous mountaineer, in 1923. Maybe it is also the reason for all mountaineers. ZengXiaoyun is one of them. So far, she has reached four 8,000- meter peaks and three of them are on the top five peaks' list in the world. Amazingly, she is the first person from Sichuan who reached the top of K2. The top of Everest(also known as Qomolangma) is also under her feet！

Her next goal is to conquer Kangchenjunga (8,586m)     and Makalu (8,463m). Then she will reach all the top five peaks！ She hopes to encourage others to go for their dreams, even if they seem far out of reach.She believes that dream is a way to the peak of one's life, offering chances to see how wide the world is and how many possibilities there are. Keep to your dream, and you will        ▲    ！

How did you spend your last holiday? Did you just stare at a screen from morning till night? Well, you're not alone. According to a new national survey, the average Chinese person now spends 337 minutes online daily. 

Let's be honest. How much of that time is spent learning a new skill or exploring a new interest? Not much. We' re watching short videos and scrolling, aren't we? Rather than helping us relax, this is turning our brains into mush(烂糊).  Spending too much time online viewing low-value content clouds our thinking. But here's the big question: How did we get here? What's more, how can we move on?

 Once you start, it's hard to stop. With endless short videos, our phones and tablets(平板电脑) have become personal fun factories. It's also very convenient and comfortable.  The more time we spend glued to our screens, the less real-life joy we experience. Nature doesn't have Wi-Fi, but it does have fresh air, warm sunlight and pleasant birdsong. Hanging out with your friends in real life is much better than staring at your screen and laughing alone.

 Screens aren't going anywhere, but they shouldn't take over our free time. The winter holiday is just around the corner. Are you going to spend it glued to a screen again? Remember,"brain rot"is real！

Fan Jinshi, born in 1938 in Beijing, graduated(毕业) from Peking University in 1963. She is the headmaster of Dunhuang Academy(研究院) and has spent more than forty years on cultural research in the northwestern city. She  with"the Daughter of Dunhuang".

After graduation, Fan had the chance to work in Beijing or Shanghai. However, she Dunhuang City and worked for Mogao Grottoes. Along with other experts from the Dunhuang Academy, Fan has made a lot of effort in the  of Mogao Grottoes. Thanks to her effort, the experts have used advanced technology to protect the grottoes, and the environment has improved . Ms. Fan was the first one that  building a"digital Dunhuang". Digital Dunhuang is an excellent way to popularize Dunhuang art.

In the past, the best Dunhuang experts were in other countries. Now the situation has changed.Fan's leadership, Dunhuang Academy has grown into the world's largest organization for Dunhuang research."The longer I' ve stayed here, the  my love has grown for Dunhuang," Fan said. In May, 2023,Fan Jinshi gave away 10,000,000 yuan to Peking University  Dunhuang research. And on July10th, the No.381323 Planet was named"Fan Jinshi Star" by IAU(国际天文学联合会).

Mogao Grottoes are along the Silk Road. The Silk Road is like a bridge  the east and the west, the ancient and the modern, the present and the future."All my life I' ve only done one thing. That's to protect, research and spread the culture of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. This is  part of all my life," said Fan Jinshi.
