Today we will introduce important people from some countries. And we' ll (讨论) why they' re famous. 

Confucius was a great teacher and (思想家) in ancient China. He lived over 2, 000 years ago and he was very (明智). We are still (影响) by his ideas. William Shakespeare was English and he wrote many fantastic plays and (诗歌). He is (著名) in many countries. (虽然) he died about 400 years ago, his plays are still learnt and make a lot of (意义) to us today. Mark Twain was an American writer. His (作品) are studied in schools. His stories were set in the south of the US over 100years ago, but readers still enjoy them very much today. I (认为) that he is as famous as Confucius and Shakespeare. 

Today, we had a(n)  about which book we like best. My favourite book is The Old Man and the Sea. It influences me a lot. The book  by Ernest Hemingway. It is about a fisherman's experience in the sea. He was in trouble when he fought against a fish. It makes a lot of sense to me. It was  that the old man had such a strong will. , the language of this book is very simple and easy to understand. It is read and  by many people. 

Since it came out in 1908, Anne of Green Gables has been a favourite book of teenagers all over the world.  That is how to grow up to be a happy and useful person. 

Anne is an 11-year-old orphan(孤儿) who arrives in the town of Avonlea, Canada. She helps Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert, a brother and sister, on their farm. 

At first, Mathew and Marilla hope to adopt(收养) a boy, not a thin girl.  It seems that Anne is less outgoing and seldom talks with others, and she is easily distracted(分心的). That's not what is needed on a farm. And yet, Anne shows that she can actually be useful. She works really really hard. But she doesn't lose her great sense of fun and this is why readers love the story. She doesn't become "a good girl", if "a good girl" means knowing only how to work and live unhappily. She knows how to enjoy herself, whether it's by eating ice cream or trying on a new dress. 

Many stories for children are written to tell them how to be good. But that's not the kind of story that Lucy Maud Montgomery, the Canadian writer, wanted to tell. The book gives readers a helping hand rather than try to scare them into being "good girls and boys".

Antonio didn't like what Shylock said.  "No. I'd rather pay some interest if I'm late on the payment. "

 "I'm afraid that's no good, " said Shylock as he laughed. "Do you think I'd take money from another moneylender? Besides, this agreement is only a joke! Do you think that any lawyer(律师) or judge(法官) would believe me? Would they really believe that I want a pound of your flesh? You don't have to worry about anything!"

Antonio agreed to the conditions. They went to a lawyer and signed an agreement.

Think about a person who loves and helps us all the time. For many children, parents might come to mind. Our parents play important part in our lives. 

Before children are born, many parents start making preparations.  any experience, they begin to buy clothes and toys for their coming children, They are ready to hear (beautiful) cry in the world. They hope they can have a healthy baby. 

After a child is born, it seems that parents can't see (somebody) except their kids. They look after their children (careful). They'll be (worry) about their children if kids come home late. Sometimes, they might expect to stay with their friends. However, if their children need them, they (stop) thinking about it. 

After a child grows up, parents think education is so important  they want to help their children go to the best school. Shlomit Gidon, a mother from Florida, the US, (send) her 7-year-old son to a private school. It was really expensive. She worked for 18 hours every day (make) money, and she didn't get enough sleep until her son finished school. 

Parents are always there to help us. It's really necessary for us to show thanks to our parents in our daily life. 

Here in Germany, taking the train is something that I do every day. There are many trains from day to night, even to midnight. I usually take the train to work, attend  , visit friends and travel. However, something embarrassing(尴尬 的) happened to me yesterday. 

The doors would  after a slight beep(轻微的鸣响). I was thinking about something on the platform and didn't hear the beep. At the last moment, I got on the train but got stuck between the closing doors. Nobody helped me from the inside. I was to get out and I thought I would be stuck for ages. I  to pull myself outside but it wasn't a simple thing. Luckily, I made it at last. There were many  on the train. I found an empty seat as quickly as I could and kept my eyes out of the window for the whole embarrassing journey.

We may have many difficulties in life, and sometimes it's even unfair for someone, but it depends on how you face them.

 A dog that barks(吠 叫) at strangers provides a warning that someone is near the house. Pets can also provide warmth for lonely children. 

 Policemen advise parents never to tell a stranger when their children are alone at home. Parents should tell their children that they can't open the door at once when someone knocks at it. They must ask who it is at first. 

 Tell the children about some useful safety knowledge to help them move safely if a fire or an earthquake happens, Parents should also tell their children not to be nervous no matter what happens.

Most parents always  what they can do to help their kids. Some buy their children pretty clothes and cool shoes, though they are expensive. Some give their children lots of . But why are some children still ? Does it mean that children want more material(物质的) things? No. To be , what they want is a true family. A true family means a place where they can learn some useful skills and get warmth and happiness to continue their life. And one important thing is that they stronger and more confident if there is a true family behind them. So I think parents should often communicate with their children so that they can understand each other better.
