Are you an "I" person or an "E" person? We hear this question a lot these days. In fact, these are two personality types (类型) based on the MBTI test. Generally speaking, an "I" person is shy and quiet, while an "E" person is outgoing.

So what is the MBTI test? It's a personality test that helps us better understand our personality preference (性格偏好) and tells us how we relate to the world around us. It was developed in the 1940s by Katharine and her daughter Isabel.

You can take the MBTI test just by answering several sets of questions. These questions cover all aspects (方面) of your behavior, preferences and thought processes. For each question, you need to choose the answer that best matches your feelings, attitude (态度) and behavior. Then you'll know what your personality type is.

The MBTI test is popular for many reasons. Let's take a closer look at just a few. First, people want to understand themselves. Human personality is very complex (复杂的), and this test provides a simple way for people to learn about themselves. Next, taking the MBTI test is relaxing and enjoyable, because its questions are interesting. Then, people try to find connections. The MBTI test offer a way to go beyond small talk and connect with others on a deeper level. Last but not least, while there are many kinds of personality tests on the market, the MBTI test is the most widely recognized.

The MBTI test may show something we don't know about ourselves and can be a fun way to help us make new friends. But knowing someone's MBTI results doesn't mean we really know that person. Nor do the MBTI results define (定义) who we are.

Why does music have these powers? It may be because people's bodies have natural rhythms! (节奏). Different kinds of music can influence you in different ways.

Most stores play soft music because soft music can make people relaxed and stay longer in a shop. And the longer shoppers stay in a store, the more things they buy in it. So stores try to play soft music to make people buy more things.

For sick people, music can help make them get well again. Doctors believe that music is just as important as medicine in t... patients.

When you're sick, try to listen to the soft and relaxing music. If you're upset, play a favorite song and tell someone how it makes you feel. A group of sad teenagers shared their favorite song with each other. Each teen explained why he or she liked the song. After talking about it, the teenagers said they felt better.

Many studies have tried to explain how music influences learning. Don Campbell, an expert on the powers of music, believes music can make people, even babies, smarter, healthier and better. Not everyone believes it. And people believe more research is needed to prove (证明) that music has these influences.

Qu Juanru's life with opera was not3. "My family was poor. My mother died when I was 14. I've lived with my father since. In the past, women were not allowed to play the opera,4 my father never stopped me when I tried to sing," Qu said. And it gave her the5 to start a journey with the opera.

The reason for young people to smoke

Some students think smoking is very cool, and they can see many people smoking around them. They want to have a try. 

"But young people start smoking early. They will probably get addicted to nicotine(尼古丁). And it will be very hard to give up later on, " said a professor. 

What can we do to make them stop smoking? Some people think we can make a law. Teenagers under 18 are not allowed to smoke, or they should be fined(罚款). Parents should give up smoking, because they can set an example to their children. 

"Every year about eight million people die of smoking. And if people keep smoking, the number will increase to 10 million a year from now on, "said the World Health Organisation. So we must learn and tell others about the danger of smoking.

①You get up in the morning and suddenly you feel that you have a big stomach ache. And you also feel sick and want to vomit(呕吐) very much. If so, maybe you' ve got stomach flu. 

②Stomach flu is one of the most uncomfortable common diseases. It spreads easily, which can make it hard to avoid. Stomach flu is caused by a virus(病毒), but not the same one that causes common flu. There's no medicine to make it go away at once. But there are some things you can do to avoid catching it. 

③You can prevent stomach flu by washing your hands often. Use hot water and soap to wash your hands. Using soap is better than using nothing, but it doesn't work very well against stomach flu. That's because soap can't kill viruses completely. 

④The virus that causes stomach flu is hard to kill. So stronger cleaners(清洁剂) are needed. Mix bleach(漂白剂) with water, and use that to clean your house. If someone in your family is sick, remember to clean the things the person has touched. 

⑤Machines like dishwashers and washing machines are better at killing viruses than washing by hand. That's because they keep the things you washhotter for longer. But many viruses can live in your machines, so often wash them with hot water and bleach. 

⑥However, if you do get stomach flu unluckily, don't worry. Have a good rest and drink as much water as possible, and you' ll feel much better soon. But don't think everything is OK. Even though you feel better, ▲. You can still spread it for a few days, so you need to stay at home for some more time. If you have a fever, wait at least 24 hours after it ends before going out. This will help to protect other people from getting sick. 

⑦Stomach flu is awful, but by following the tips above, you can keep away from it. 

Many Chinese students know the name Li Hua, a made-up boy. Middle school students pretend(假装) to be him when they write letters in English tests. The letters Li Hua writes change every year. 

That shows how English education in China has changed over time. China has done a great job at teaching English and helping people talk to others from different cultures. 

Tian Lijun, born in 1980, is from Dalian, Liaoning. Dalian is a coastal city, so English was added to the school subjects early. She started to learn English in middle school in the 1990s. "At first, we learned letters and sounds, then words, " she remembers. "I didn't learn to make sentences. And the English books were boring. " Later on, English classes began in earlier grades and became more interesting. 

Students like Wang Mengqi, born in the 2000s, started learning English before Grade One. "We had fun books with pictures and colourful letters, "Wang says. The way teachers teach and the tools they use have also changed a lot. Tian's first English teacher used to teach in Chinese, but Wang says his teacher encouraged him to speak only English during class. In the past, Tian's teachers depended on blackboards. Nowadays, students like Wang use computers to practise listening and speaking English. 

Thanks to updated(更新的) textbooks and lessons that show what's happening around the world, Chinese students are getting more interested in English learning. "New events can be in the next book. The lessons are connected with real life, " says high school student Lei Chenxiang. 

The topics for English articles are changing too. Now, students help LiHua tell stories about China to his foreign friends. Wang believes these changes reflect China's growing cultural confidence. "China is playing a more important role in the world, " she says. 

Ghaffar Pourazar, born in Iran, said he had been a big fan of Bruce Lee since he was a child and was full of interest about China. In 1993, he happened to watch Beijing Opera performed in London by professionals(专业人员) from Jingju Theatre Company of Beijing. Ghaffar said he fell in love with the beautiful voices, colourful clothes and excellent shows. So one year later, he arrived in China alone and became a student of Beijing Opera at a Beijing school. 

At the age of 32, he had to learn with teenage students every day, starting from the most basic training of the legs and waist(腰), At the time, he was mostly troubled by the dialogue in Beijing Opera. To him, it was the biggest obstacle. But he never gave up. Four years later, he began to learn to perform the Monkey King, a traditional character(角色) from the Chinese classic story Journey to the West. He said he arrived in the workroom an hour earlier than other performers and also bought books and CDs to better understand the character. 

Ghaffar today not only is good at speaking Beijing dialect(方言) but has also become famous for performing Beijing Opera. He once got a top international prize for performing the Monkey King. 

To help more people enjoy Beijing Opera, Ghaffar often teaches the traditional art form in schools in the United States, Britain and other countries. When he found that the language was difficult to understand, he started to translate(翻译) Beijing Opera lyrics(歌词). Ghaffar led a group of actors to perform 66 times in a month and a half in the United States. He also led a 48-member team to perform in Malaysia. In the past 10 years, he has performed in more than 400 shows.
