Lei Feng was a famous soldier(士兵) in China. He was born(出生) in a poor family in Hunan Province on December 18, 1940. When he was very young, he lost his parents and became an orphan. But he never gave up. He worked hard and joined the army in 1960. In the army, he was always ready to help others. He often cleaned the streets, and gave his money to people in need. He did many good things for others, but he never wanted anything in return.

The story still follows the little hero Ne Zha. In this movie, Ne Zha meets new and hard problems. Some bad people say Ne Zha does bad things. So Ne Zha has two big things to do. First, he has to show that he is a good boy. 

 But Ne Zha is very brave. No matter how hard things get, he never gives up. His strong mind makes people who watch the movie like him very much. 

The movie has very cool pictures.  We can see big and beautiful palaces under the sea. The fight scenes are really exciting. Each picture in the movie is just like a beautiful photo. Besides, Ne Zha's friends and family help him a lot. They show us how important friendship and family are. 

People of all ages like this movie.  It shows us that if we are brave(勇敢的), we can beat(打败)any problem. More and more people are going to the cinema to see" Ne Zha 2", and it becomes a popular talk among movie fans. 

Jenna had a wonderful volunteer experience in teaching English to the children of Samara, Costa Rica. Samara was an island of love and happiness. It was impossible to see the anger or worry through people's eyes and looks. The children at school were very easy to be happy. A smile could light them up. 

Jenna's first week started with an English Sports Camp. Each morning she gave them a lesson. The teaching was difficult because some children were poor in their own language. After lunch, she took them to play and taught them new games and sports. She worked from 8: 30 a. m. to about 4 p. m. She felt the camp was a success because the children always came back with smiles and eagerness (渴望) to learn. 

The second week gave Jenna more time to experience the culture there. She taught children every morning and adults at night. The beach was an important part of its culture, so almost every day she went to the beach and surfed there. She also took a 6-hour journey on a horse to a 50-feet-tall waterfall sometimes. 

Jenna was surprised to find it wasn't hard to have no TV or phone there. One hard thing was the language problem. Another problem was the cold shower. The transportation (交通) was also kind of difficult because the stations weren't clean and the buses ran very little. 

This volunteer experience does change her. She can understand what the real happiness was from this journey.

Here are a few ways to motivate (激发) children to do chores. 

 Children always watch their parents and learn how to act from them, so the parents must set a good example and take chores seriously. This motivates children to do chores, too. 

Decide what kinds of chores children do. For younger children, give them easy work, like putting away their toys. 

Tell children about the importance of doing chores. Discuss the importance of doing chores and how they help the whole family. Knowing the importance of the chores helps to motivate children to do them. 

 When children finish the chores on the list, parents can reward (奖励) them by giving them a prize. A chore list also gives children a sense of pride (自豪) when they finish all their chores. 

Give children some money to do more chores.  But it is not the best way. It's best to make children feel that doing chores is the work that they should do. 

The most common disease (疾病) in the world is the cold. It often starts with a sore throat. 

You sneeze (打喷嚏) and your nose runs. You usually have a headache, too. Often you have a cough later. It's not a serious disease, but you can feel quite bad. 

There isn't good medicine for a cold, but you can take medicine to make you feel better. It' s good to rest, and to drink a lot of water, too. A doctor once told me, "With the right medicine, a cold will last for several days. With no medicine, it will go on for a whole week!"

Where does our medicine come from? A long time ago, people found that some plants  made them feel better. They ate leaves, roots, fruits or seeds of plants. We know the juice of lemons makes a sore throat feel better. In modern times, scientists have studied many plants, and found out what chemicals are in them. 

Many kinds of our medicines today are made from those chemicals. There are some diseases that we can't treat yet. But because of modern medicine, people now live longer than their grandparents. 

Why is 2024 a special year? Because it is a Leap Year (闰年) . 

What's so special about that? Well, we have a Leap Year every four years. And it has 366 days, not the usual (通常的) 365. In a Leap Year, we have 29 days in February, while in a usual year we have only 28 days. 

Why do we have a Leap Year? We have a Leap Year so we can keep the calendar (日历) in step (一致) with the seasons. The calendar is a kind of clock for the year. But how long is a year?

A calendar year is 365 days. But a true year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds long. 

That's the time it takes the earth to go around the sun. So every four years we have one more day, and we put it at the end of\February, the shortest month of a year. Then we have a Leap Year. 

Most American families like to have a vacation in summer. Summer is a good season for vacation. It is often hot in July and August. 

Children do not go to school in those two months. Some people like to stay at home, read books, or watch TV. Many families take their lunch to eat at a place with many trees or a nice lake. Some people have enough time and money to travel to other countries like France, Japan and

Australia. They usually fly to these countries. Many families travel by car or train to see interesting places in their own countries. Their favorite cities are New York, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles. 

Not everyone likes to go to busy cities. Some families travel to mountains or beautiful valleys. 

Kangkang: I went mountain climbing with my classmates last Sunday. The night before, I checked the weather to make sure it was a fine day. To prepare for it, first I took some yellow baseball caps for my classmates, so that we could easily see each other. Also, I brought a heavy coat because it was cold on the mountain top. I prepared some bread and water,and I also put some fruit in my bag. The day finally came. In the morning, we got to the foot of the mountain by bus, and then we started climbing the mountain. We were all very excited.
