Robots are becoming a big part of our lives. They seem very popular to most people. They have a long history. The first one was made by a Greek i . You may have seen robots in some films. They are stronger, faster and c than people in real life. 

Thousands of robots are used in factories. These robots are not like the robots in movies. They don't walk or talk. I , a robot may be just a metal arm. The robot arm can do a certain job in a factory over and over again. It can do jobs that people may not want to do. 

Robots are also used to do many  d jobs. In Canada, the policemen are using a robot on wheels. This robot moves around to carry bombs(炸弹) and takes them away. 

Robots are used in hospitals too. At one hospital, a robot takes meals from the kitchen to the sick people's rooms, and it never loses its way because it has a  m of the hospital in its computer system. 

But robots will never take the place of human beings, though they can help us in a lot of different ways. 

You need a new computer, but you are not sure which one to buy: a desktop (台式机) or a laptop. 

Before buying a new computer, you should first ask yourself how much space you have.  Not everyone's desk is big enough.  In this case, a laptop can be the right choice. 

After that, you'll need to think about your needs: Why do you want to buy a computer? As we all know, a laptop can be taken easily whenever you study or work.  Because the freedom to study or work anywhere can help encourage their creativity. 

But others, like game developers and video or photo makers, might prefer a desktop with big screens.  Few laptop screens are big and bright enough to serve their needs. 

 Many people may end up spending too much on a computer. If you only want to have a computer to take online lessons, surf the internet or write articles, you can use older models to save money. 

Digital technology has made life easier for most people. With a smartphone, you can shop online, watch TV shows and catch a taxi. However, for many elderly people, such technology only makes their lives confusing(令人困惑的).
