I really enjoy running with my mother in the morning. We run three times a week and each time we run for an hour. That makes me feel relaxed all day. Every night after dinner, I walk our dog called Bubu for half an hour. But I hate playing football with my brother. I think it's boring and dangerous. 

I always play music in my free time. I'm in a band at school. I can play the guitar and the piano, but in the group I'm the singer. I also love taking photos. I think photos can help us remember those wonderful moments and find the beauty around. It's amazing. I like working on the photos with a computer. 

In my free time, I mainly do two things -dance and karate (空手道). Dancing is a tradition in Brazil. I take a dance lesson on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And I practice karate in a club every Saturday. I enjoy myself a lot during training as I have many friends with the same interest in the club. 

As a middle school student, I don't have much free time every week. But I try to make the best use of it. Almost every day I take exercise. It's good for my body and my mind. Before going to bed, I read books, especially history books. Now I have little time to watch movies or play computer games. I feel tired.

Growing up in a small American town, I never thought I would drive in China! Last year, my friends and I tookexciting road trip from Yinchuan to Lanzhou. 

 (one), we got Chinese driver's licenses(驾照). Soon, we hit the road! We drove through wide farms and high(mountain). We were surprised at the views. It was much(beautiful) than I expected!

Along the way, we met many kinds of strangers. One of(they) is Geng San. He asked us(go) camping together by Qinghai Lake. At night, the temperature dropped to-10℃. We(quick) got into the cars and put on more clothes. We tried many ways to keep warm, we were still very cold. 

In Lanzhou, we(have) delicious noodles and visited food markets. It was really a wonderful experience. I want to drive across Chinamy friends again. I can't wait!

The movie How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies were popular among people. It told us a family story and showed the love between family(成员) from the small things. 

In the movie a young man named Aam(决定) to care for his grandma. She was badly ill and Aam wanted to get her money. However, (在……期间) the time he looked after his grandma, he learned she was not easy all her life. So he told(他自己) to be kind to grandma. 

In fact, his grandma began saving money for him when he was a little boy. Aam realized that he didn't need to win grandma's love. He had her(深的) love all the time and it is much greater than money. 

One day, a delivery car arrived at Liam's house with 30 boxes of chocolates. All the chocolates cost $5, 80o! His family was not1 so it was really a lot of money for them. Liam's mom, Holly, was2 when she knew what happened. She asked madly, "Liam, what did you do?!" The seven-year-old boy was afraid. He said he was3 his mum's phone on Saturday, but he didn't know how he bought these chocolates on the phone. That was a huge4 !

Happiness is like a garden-it needs care to grow! Scientists say we can practice being happy just like practicing sports. 

One way is making a thank-you list. Write down three sweet things each day, like "My friend shared her snack" or "Dad played tennis with me after school. " By doing that, you'll find happiness in small moments. 

 Just 20 minutes of exercise every day is helpful. We don't need to join a sports team-walking a dog or biking to school works too!

Finally, build positive relationships.  For example, we can smile at classmates or help parents with some housework. Small acts bring big happiness!

Anyway, try to remember: just as plants need daily care, our happiness needs the same attention.

Jack and his dad Dale, love outdoor adventures. One cloudy day, they went on a boat trip along the Magellan Strait. The waves were a little loud and huge. Jack was excited and enjoyed his trip in the boat Dale stood on the beach, taking photos of the exciting journey.

People near the beach said they didn't often meet this situation. "Whales usually eat small fish, not people. Maybe this whale was just as surprised as Jack. It didn't want to eat him. " a scientist said. To protect both people and wildlife, the government told everyone to stay at least 100 meters away from ocean animals. 

"It was a scary adventure, but I wasn't angry and now I know whales are friendly, " Jack said. "Next time, I'll keep myself away…but I'm happy I'm OK now!"

Maybe you have to get up early for school, but research shows that poor sleep can bring many problems, So should schools start earlier or later? We asked some readers for their opinions. 

Ahava thinks schools should start later. Here are her reasons: First, as teenagers, our brain and body need more sleep to work and grow; Second, starting and finishing early is hard for families. Parents may need to leave work early to pick up their kids from school; Third, when kids don't get enough sleep, they can be irritable, so they might have problems with classmates and even fight with each other. 

However, David has different opinion. He thinks starting school earlier helps students become early risers(早起者). This is a healthy habit that brings positive energy and helps us feel more active in the morning. Also, starting school earlier means that school would end earlier, so students have more time for important after-school activities. An earlier start can help students plan their time better and live a healthier life.

At 10:00 a. m. on November 17, 2024 Yiwu Half Marathon started! Runners from 21 countries joined, like Ethiopia, India and France. Runners from Africa showed great skills- Bune from Ethiopia won the men's race and Derbe from Ethiopia won the women's race. 

The race went past 7 cultural places in Yiwu. The runners enjoyed beautiful nature and rich culture when they were running-it was like a tour while racing!

Yiwu Half Marathon has been running for 8 years, and it's a popular race loved by runners in the world. The race is approved(认可) by World Athletics. That means runners can get points to improve their world ranking(排名). "I love Yiwu. I can race and experience Chinese culture, too. I feel Yiwu's warmth and make new friends here", said Bune. 

The Yiwu Half Marathon isn't just a sports game. It's also a great way to show how beautiful Yiwu is. More and more people visit Yiwu, making it a more international city!
