Sun protection is more than just avoiding sunburn—— it's about keeping your skin healthy and feeling good all summer long. Here are some ways to protect yourself.
1. Use sunscreen(防晒霜) properly
Apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher 20-30 minutes before going outside. Don't forget to reapply every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating. Studies show that most people apply too little sunscreen, so using enough (about 1 teaspoon for the face) is key.
2. Wear the right clothes
Wear long sleeves, hats, and UV-protective sunglasses. Dark-colored clothes with tight weaves block more UV rays than light ones. A good pair of sunglasses not only protects your eyes but also prevents fine lines around the eyes caused by squinting(眯眼).
3. Seek shade during peak hours
The sun is strongest from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Use natural shade from trees or create your own shade with umbrellas or tents.
4. Drink enough water
Drinking plenty of water is important for skin health and overall comfort. When you sweat, your body loses water and salt, so drink lots of water even if you're not thirsty. You can also enjoy drinks like tea or fruit juice.
By following these steps, you'll reduce the risk of skin damage. Then you can enjoy being outside without worry. Remember: healthy skin means feeling good!

3、阅读下面短文,在各题空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
Have you ever met people who are like the people I'll mention below? They have a very poor sense of (direct). When they are on the street, they cannot tell the east from the west or the south from the north. Certainly, they can ask others for help. But I have to say that asking the way in a(n) (polite) way can "give" people a bad feeling.
One day I was stopped by a man. He asked, "Where is the Friendship Building?" To be honest, I wasn't very happy about what he said. Why couldn't he ask in a more polite way? With a little bad impression made by his words, I didn't pay much attention the place where he wanted to go and told him a wrong answer. Just as I walked on only a few steps, I realized that he had asked the way to my office building! But I had no time (turn) back and look for him.
I (rush) to meet with someone at my office and I didn't want to keep him waiting.
I just got to my office, the man I would meet with hadn't come yet. He said he got (lose) and might be late on the phone. About an hour (late), he arrived. He was just the man who asked way! After saying sorry to the man for what I had done, I saw the man looked ashamed (惭愧的) and he said, "I should have said sorry to you (one). That was my mistake…"

9、阅读下面短文,根据其内容填空和回答问题。(1至4题每题答案不超过3个单词,5题须用完整句子回答。)
"How are you?" is a nice question. It's a friendly greeting that people in the United States use. However, it's a question that often doesn't need an answer. The person who asks "How are you?" expects to hear the answer "Fine." even if the person isn't fine. They are common ways of saying "hello" or "hi".
Sometimes, people don't say exactly what they mean. For example, when someone asks "Do you agree?" the other person may be thinking, "No, I don't. I think you're wrong." It isn't polite to disagree very strongly, so he might say, "I am not so sure." This is a nicer way to say that you don't agree with someone.
People also don't say exactly what they are thinking when they finish talking to other people. For example, many conversations over the phone end when one person says, "I've got to go now," or the person who wants to hang up gives an excuse such as "Someone is at the door," or "Something is burning on the stove." The excuse may be real, or not. The person who wants to hang up simply doesn't want to talk any more, but it isn't polite to say so. An excuse is polite, and it doesn't hurt the other person's feelings.
Whether they are greeting each other, talking about an idea, of finishing a talk, people don't say exactly that they are thinking. It's an important way that people try to be nice to each other, and it's part of the game of language.
(1)、"How are you?" is just a of saying "hello" or "hi".(2)、If you have a different idea from that of someone else, it is polite to say "I'm not ."(3)、When you want to hang up, there are three mentioned in the passage.(4)、A suitable excuse is not only polite, but also won't hurt others' .(5)、Is it necessary to be polite? Why or why not? -

Giving Directions in Different Places
If you ask people of different countries "Could you tell me the way to the post office?", you will get different answers.
In Japan, people use landmarks (地标) instead of street names. For example, the Japanese will say to travelers, "Go straight down to the corner. The post office is across from the bus stop."
In Kansas, America, there are no towns or buildings within miles. So instead of landmarks, people will tell you directions and distance. For example, people will say, "Go north two miles."
People in Greece sometimes do not even try to give directions. They will often say, "Follow me." Sometimes if а person doesn't know the answer to your question, he or she, like а New Yorker, might say, "Sorry, I have no idea." But in Yucatan, Mexico, no one answers "I don't know." Theу usually give an answer, but often a wrong one. A visitor can often get lost in Yucatan! You might not understand a person's words, but maybe you can understand his or her body language.
Hе or she will usually point to the correct direction. Go on in that direction and уоu may find the post office!
A. Turn east, and then go another mile.
B. But one thing will help you everywhere.
C. You have to talk with them all the time.

Don't be afraid of using symbols. Every city in the world has its own symbols. You can decrease search time if you know what the most important symbols are in the city. Your place might be around the symbols.

How good are you at maths? Some people love the challenge of maths or enjoy working out number puzzles such as sudoku. Maths is all around us, from working out how to pay the bill after a meal to calculating your household bills. But many are afraid of the moment when they have to deal with numbers and figures and feel a real sense of worry and confusion. It can seem frightening, but this "maths anxiety" is perfectly normal, and you' re certainly not alone. Anyway, our worries and fears don't mecessarily reflect our abilities.
The problem really starts in childhood at school. Research has found that maths teachers who are nervous about teaching the subject can pass on their anxiety to the students. The Programme for International Student Assessment found around 31%of teenagers aged 15 and 16 across 34 countries said they got very nervous doing maths problems, 33% said they got nervous doing maths homework, and nearly60% said they worried that maths classes would be difficult. Shulamit Kahm, from Boston University, believes giving students good role models is critical, especially at a young age. She thinks the key is to get people to love teaching maths to younger children.
Writing for BBC Future , David Robson says, "It's not clear why maths causes so much fear compared with geography, Because there's no room for playing tricks(花招) in maths tests, it makes you more worried about maths. And once we think we' re not a maths person, we avoid solving things that we probably could do. "
Psychologists have been trying to work out why mental arithmetic(心算) can bring us out in a sweat. That fear may come from many sources, but some suggest that expressing your fears can loosen their control on you and encourage children to see a maths test as a challenge, not a threat. Most importantly, we need to think positively about maths and give it a second chance.
(1)、 What is the writer's understanding of maths anxiety in Paragraph 1?A、It happens when people have to pay bills after a meal. B、It actually shows one's poor performance in maths. C、Only students often suffer from this sense of worry. D、People normally have it when dealing with numbers.(2)、 What may cause students' maths anxiety according to the research?A、The special feature of maths. B、The fear of failure in maths tests. C、Students' dislike of learning maths. D、Maths teachers' lack of confidence.(3)、 What can we learn from David Robson's words?A、Geography seldom causes worry. B、Slow students have maths worries. C、Dishonesty is difficult in maths tests. D、Maths students like number puzzles.(4)、 What is the best way to get over maths anxiety?A、Speaking out your fears in public. B、Inviting female maths teachers. C、Having a positive attitude to maths. D、Viewing a maths test as a challenge. -
