Why do you do sports? You may say "To get exercise". That's right.  

Make friends

We often do sports with people with the same hobbies. For example, Andy likes basketball, and Jacky likes basketball, too.  As time goes on, they are friends now. You can make friends in the swimming pool or ping-pong room, too.

Have good grades

 But it's worthy (值得的). Studies show that doing sports helps students with school work. Lots of students are both good at sports and their lessons.

Learn and grow (成长) 

Sports can make you learn. You learn about teamwork when you play with other players.  When you are strong, you are growing up.

Feel relaxed (放松的) 

 Then it is time to relax. Run, jump and swim with your good friends. After doing sports, you can go back to work with a fresher mind (更清醒的头脑).

We know exercise is important (重要的) in our life. Everyone needs to exercise. Doctors say doing sports is beneficial for us. Sports can make our body strong. Children should also do some sports. It's good for them. If children often do sports, they can be stronger and taller. Doing sports is easy. Here is some advice (建议) for you.

You can walk, run or only jump. These are easy ways. Every day you walk to the classrooms and have PE class.

Don't do sports too much at a time. Try all kinds of sports and look for one, two or even three sports you like. People exercise for an hour every day have better sleep and more energy (能量).

You can also exercise at a gymor on the sports field. In the gym, you can play basketball, play tennis or play badminton. After school, you can run or play football on the sports field. Exercise can be fun. It can make you happy.

Friends can exercise together. You can do sports with your friends at any place you like. You can also join the running club together.

As you can see, you can try different ways to do exercise. And Just do it!

Many children feel excited about the first snow of the year. But Jim is sad. He loves swimming, playing football and riding his bike in summer. It is cold in winter, and he has to stay at home.

After lunch, Jim's friend Bob comes to his home. He wants to make a snowman with Jim. At first, Jim is hesitant (犹豫的), but he wants to give it a try. Then he wears a warm coat and goes out with Bob.

"Wow, the snow is too cold!" Jim says.

"Yes, but it's fun to play in the snow," Bob says.

Bob and Jim make a big snowman. The snowman looks so beautiful. "Making a snowman makes me relaxed (放松). It is really cool!" Jim says.

Little by little, Jim loves snowy days. Bob also takes him to ski. Now, Jim thinks winter can be a great time of the year.

Shelly, the little fish, learns to swim from her mum in the shallow (浅的) water of a lake. "Let's swim in the deep (深的) water, Mummy!" Shelly says. "It must be so much fun."

"Not now, Shelly," Mum says. "You have to swim well in the shallow water first. Then you can go swimming in the deep water."

Shelly feels sad (难过的) to hear that. One day, Mum is busy. Shelly swims into the deep water alone (独自). It is beautiful and colourful. Shelly is very happy. Then she sees a big fish!

"Help! Help!" Shelly cries. She is very afraid (害怕的). Luckily (幸运地), Mum comes and helps Shelly get away from (离开) the big fish.

"The deep water is beautiful," Mum says to Shelly. "But you have to swim well and be strong before you go out and explore (探索) it." 

Late-night snacks to be banned

To stop people making a noise late at night, the city of Milan has made a rule. It stops the sale of takeout (外卖食物) after midnight. Most people are happy that they can have a good sleep at night. 

Writing down your worries

If a worry comes into your head during the day, just make a note of it. Tell yourself that you'll have time to think about it later, so there's no need to worry about it right now. In fact, some worries may go away on their own. 

A new rule to encourage (鼓励) people to laugh

A new rule calls for people to laugh at least once a day in Japan. It says that laughing is good for people's health and can cut down the danger of having heart problems. Businesses have to make workplaces full of laughter. 

Insects on the menu

On the menu in Singapore, we can see 16 insects. These insects are safe for people to eat. They are delicious and good for people's health. Now we can eat insects in many restaurants in Singapore. 

John and his sister Anna visit Uncle Li's farm this Sunday. They have a good time there.

Many people make journeys to different places. However, the biggest journey is the self-discovery journey. How do you start it? 

●Understand what you value about yourself.

What do you like most about yourself?  It could also be about your wonderful skills at football. This helps you better understand your own values and abilities.

●Know what makes you excited.

 It could be when you are singing on stage, when you help your dad repair his car, or even when you are doing a science project.

●Travel to different places.

Traveling to a new place is a good way to discover new things. When you are on your travels, you have chances to meet kinds of people and get to know different cultures.

What is your goal in life? How will you achieve it? Ask yourself these questions, and you will have a better understanding of yourself. These questions will help you reflect.

The self-discovery journey is not a fixed one. With time going by, many experiences in your life can change you, which helps you grow.

Next month, most of middle school students will graduate from their school. As for their middle school life, they have different thoughts.

My school life is a learning experience for sure. It gives me trust and inspiration (灵感) . Most importantly, I have got a lot of knowledge and life skills. For me, my school life gives me many joys in life.

Till now I have been a student at my school for nine years. For me, it has been an amazing golden age. It is like the happiest dream. Here I began to learn the alphabet and now can use different ways to solve problems. I can never forget the warm welcome on the first day when I came to this  school to study. It determines (决定) why my life at school is so important to me. My life at school makes me learn something new almost every day. It helps me to get an understanding of knowledge. Besides this, it helps me to succeed ____ in my studies ____ in activities.

In the past, I also made a lot of mistakes. During my school days, I can remember how naive (无经验的) I was. Yet thanks to my friends and teachers, I corrected my mistakes and kept on studying hard. That is how I found the real meaning of love from school life.In my ears, their words are still ringing.

I still remember my friends and me sharing lunch during the lunch break, playing basketball on the court, taking part in different activities, and of course, taking the short trips. Now that I look back, it is no less than a fairy tale. I entered my school crying, not wanting to let go of my mother's hand, scared of the new place and new people. And now I leave it crying, scared of leaving that place, those friends and teachers.
