Lots of students are worried after the exams. How to solve it? 

Don't think about the exams. Try to keep in mind that once the exam is over, you can't go back or change anything. Don't ask your friends' answers to the questions in their papers or look for the answers to the questions on the Internet.  These will make you even more worried.

See your mistakes as lessons to learn from.  Remember that the purpose of an exam is to make you know your strengths (优势) and weaknesses in your study.

Try relaxing yourself. Leave yourself alone for a few minutes and let all your worries go away during that time. Clear your mind from thinking about the exam by doing some interesting activities you enjoy. For example, if you feel relaxed when you watch a movie or read a book, do that. 

It's normal to worry about your exams.  Now relax with something you enjoy and then start preparing early for your next exam.

In October 2012, I joined an organization (组织) to volunteer to work in Thailand. When I arrived there, I thought I would go to an orphanage (孤儿院). However, I was told that I had to go to a place by train alone. And then I knew that my job was to teach English in a school instead of working at an orphanage.

The next day, I went to the school and met the kids I would teach. In the classroom, the kids looked at me, saying nothing. No one could speak English. But from their eyes, I knew they were nervous to learn English. It seemed like a difficult task for me, but that was just what I wanted.

Although I loved the kids and the challenge, my life in Thailand was quite hard at first. I was alone and I could talk to nobody. However, I didn't give up. Little by little, I learned some Thai (泰语) and started to fall in love with Thailand. Every time I saw the kids' joy of learning English, I was happy and felt that what I was doing was really worth (值得) the hard work.

Now I'm working in a hospital in Thailand. If you also want to be a volunteer like me, don't worry too much about the food or the place where you live. After all, as a volunteer, the most important thing is to help people in need.

Do you want to keep healthy? Here are some things you can do. 

Get up early. To do it, you must go to bed early in the evening. Don't watch TV or play computer games too late. You should go to bed before ten o'clock and then get up at about six o'clock in the morning. 

▲   It's good to eat fruit and vegetables every day, because they're healthy food. Ice-cream and hamburgers taste good, but they are really not good for you. So don't eat them every day. And you must eat a healthy breakfast every morning. 

Play sports every day. Don't say that you are always busy, and have no time to play sports. That's just an excuse. In the morning, you can run. After work, you can play ball games with your friends. Even (甚至) in the evening, you can take a walk. When you're free, just play sports! 

Good friends can make you happy. They can tell you how to be healthy, too. So make some good friends!

The French writer Annie Ernaux won the Nobel (诺贝尔) Prize in Literature in October 2022. She became the 17th woman to receive the prize. She has written more than 20 books and won many prizes.

On September 1, 1940, Annie Ernaux was born into a working-class family in France. Her parents could just make enough money to send their only daughter to school. The other students in the school were mostly from middle-class (中产阶级) families, and this made Annie feel upset.

When she grew up, Annie lived in London as a babysitter in the early 1960s. Later, she started a course in primary teacher training. She got a degree in literature. Annie got married in the late 1960s. She became the mother of two sons. She began teaching French in a middle school.

The change from a working-class daughter to a married middle-class woman inspired (赋予灵感) her first work, Cleaned Out.

Some of her books are about her memories which include her unhappy childhood, her troubled marriage, her mother's death, and her experience with cancer (癌症). In the book Cleaned Out, she describes how her change makes it difficult to communicate with her parents. The Yearstells stories about her life from 1941 to 2006. A Man's Place is about her father. In A Woman's Story, Annie wrote about her mother's life and death.

My love of building things began when I was a kid. It wasn't until I 1 about Thomas Edison, though, that I really became excited about inventing.

It is important for us to face challenges in our lives. 

On the night of August 14, 2015, everything changed when my friend's car hit a tree with me inside.

I lost most of my left leg, and was bleeding a lot. After three weeks in hospital, I finally could go home with a false (假的) leg. However, the fight was far from over. More of my left leg got worse. This made it harder to wear my false leg, so I gave it to a girl who couldn't buy one for herself. The joy of being able to help others was greater than the happiness of wearing it myself.

Do you like skiing (滑雪)? When it comes to skiing, we have to know about one man—Shan Zhaojian. He is famous as China's "father of skiing".

In 1938, Shan was born in Tonghua, a city known for its ice and snow. In the 1950s, China began to develop (发展) winter sports in the northeastern areas (东北地区), and Tonghua built its first cross- country ski team. Shan joined it when he was 16. "Things were really difficult at that time. We had no money to buy good skis, so we made them by ourselves. Even so, I kept practicing hard and believed we could do well," he said. From 1957 to 1960, Shan won 10 medals in different skiing games.

Because of his poor health, Shan stopped skiing at the age of 24. But he didn't give up the winter sport he loved. He worked as a ski coach and head of the Chinese Ski Team. In 1998, Shan stopped his job as a coach and spent more time studying the history of skiing, giving talks and holding activities about ice and snow sports in schools across the country. "I hope to see more people take part in ice and snow sports," he said.

My name is Christine, from Brazil (巴西), and I'd like to tell you how I learned English.

When I finished school, I wasn't good at English, but I found it interesting to listen to English songs and watch English movies. So I decided to study English at Fisk School when I was thirty-five years old. I had classes with sixty teenagers (青少年) in a big classroom at that time.

Seven months later, I stopped studying in the school because I had to look after (照顾) my son. But I kept studying by myself. I improved my English by listening to English songs and watching English movies. When I had problems (问题), I tried to find answers on the Internet. Also, my friends helped me a lot.

Now, I have no problem in speaking or reading. Most of my friends are surprised (吃惊的) when I speak in English.
