Everyone has their own good friends and friendship makes our growth more colourful.

Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya' s friendship is known as the"Guan and Bao Friendship". It is story of trust and kindness. 

Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya met when they were young became best friends. Guan was wise and good at (think). Bao was different from him. People showed (admire) for Bao' s kindness and generosity(大方). Although they had different strengths, they (support) each other like brothers. 

When Guan and Bao did business together, Guan took more money. Bao knew Guan's family was poor and never said anything about it. Guan made mistakes, but Bao trusted (he) ability, saying bad times happen to everyone. Guan lost jobs three times, but Bao (confident) believed that he just didn't get the right chance. Even when Guan ran away from battles(战争) , Bao understood that he did so because he needed to take care  the family. Years went by, Ba、 became successful in another place, but he never forgot Guan. When Guan was in trouble, Bao was always there (help) him. 

The Guan and Bao Friendship shows us that true friends are (care) and never forget each other, even in difficult times. They stand by each other and give support and encouragement. 

Do you like to make new friends at school? Making friends is an important skill for us to learn. 

To teach kids friend-making skills, people in Australia started a project called URStrong. It gives kids classes on friendships to help them make friends. Here are some ways of making a new friend from the friendship classes. 

Introduce yourself first. Look the person in the eye, smile and say, "Hi! My name is . . . What's your name?" After he or she answers, say something like, "It's really nice to meet you. "It is really as simple as that!  If you get them wrong, they will feel sad!

Ask questions. But remember, you have to be a good listener before you can ask good questions. 

Don't be shy. Then your new friends can get to know you! Soon enough, you will be the best of friends!

Enjoy something together. Try to find an activity you both like and ask the other person to play with you. 

Are you at a new school? Being a new student can make you worried at first, but if you are afraid of it too much, you can't live a happy school life. Here are different ways to get along with your classmates, from joining in after-school activities to starting a conversation(交谈) in class. Here are some tips to help you make new friends at school. 

Introduce yourself to people first. Start by offering your name first. A basic introduction is a great way to put yourself out there. You might also talk about something that you are good at. For example, if you say you are good at playing the piano, someone may want to learn more about the piano. 

Give a hand to a classmate in need. Helping a classmate is a good way to make friends. You might help someone pick up the notebooks they dropped or let someone borrow a pencil. Being kind is a great way to make friends with others, such as offering part of your lunch to someone who forgot theirs or offering to read textbooks together with someone who forgot to bring theirs. 

Keep your eye out for classmates with same interests. Look at your classmates' interests and activities. Do you see someone reading your favourite book or wearing a T-shirt of your favourite colour?

These common interests can help you find people you' re more likely to get along with. 

One day, David and his friends talked about who their closest friends were. When it was his turn, he said, "My best friend is Amy, an 81-year-old woman living in Florida. "

Their friendship came from a game. In the game, David and Amy were on the same team. After this game, they became good friends. David even told her about his dream of music.

Do you like the lotus(莲)? The lotus is one of  most amazing water plants. It's well-known for (it) large, round leaves and beautiful flowers. 

The lotus plants are very strong and can live for a very long time. They can't grow very tall,  their leaves and flowers can spread across the water and cover a large area. This makes them perfect for (decorate)lakes. 

The lotus flowers are very beautiful. They come in many colours like pink, white, and even yellow. The flowers need at least six hours sunlight each day. Every morning, these lovely flowers open up to greet the sun, and then they slowly close in the afternoon. They can remain fresh and beautiful for several days. 

Besides(除了) being beautiful, the lotus is very (use). People can eat some parts of it. They even use lotus leaves to wrap(包裹) food. This gives food a fresh smell. In some places, people also use the lotus to make medicine. (current), some scientists are testing how lotus seeds can help rebuild bones.
